I thought I saw Food Network’s best edition of Best Thing I Ever Ate when I saw the show about desserts.
Turns out I was wrong. There’s a Best Thing I Ever Ate all about chocolate dishes.
After church, lunch and some shopping with my sister, Leslie and I flipped on the TV to chill out for a bit. (Well, being a student, she had homework to do, but Sadie and I kept her company on the couch.)
After watching about 10 minutes of the chocolate edition of Best Thing I Ever Ate, I had a severe craving for chocolate.
Cookies sounded like a great option, but we were all out of flour. What’s a girl to do?
After searching around for a recipe for flourless chocolate cookies on the internet, I stumbled upon Kalyn’s recipe for Fudgey Flourless Chocolate Oatmeal Cluster cookies.
Sign me up!
In no time at all, I had an unbelievably delicious batch of moist and perfectly chocolatey cookies.
To be totally honest these cookies tasted a lot like brownies. They were dense, rich and totally satisfied my chocolate craving.
(Note: I followed Kalyn’s recipe, but subbed real sugar in place of the Splenda and used canola oil in place of the olive oil that she used in her recipe.)
The cookies were seriously amazing! I am thinking of making another batch to bring to work tomorrow with pink and red heart sprinkles for a little Valentine’s Day flavor.
Since today has been full of playing, it’s time to hunker down and accomplish some Sunday chores:
- Dishes
- Laundry
- Grocery shopping
Gotta get to it!
I made dark chocolate cookies this weekend too, with peanut butter. Cookies like that are the best of both worlds- a brownie and a cookie, rolled into one!
Brownie-like chocolate cookies? Yes. Please. 🙂 Good luck on your chores…laundry’s the only thing left on my list, but it’s my least favorite…
What a great way to spend a Sunday!
I’ve been meaning to share this quote with you for awhile, and what better day than one where you are spending time with your sister making cookies! “In the cookies of life, sisters are the chocolate chips.” LOVE IT!
Wow, those cookies look amazing! They gave me a huge chocolate craving… I’ll definitely be trying them out.
Have a great Sunday!
I’VE MADE THOSE COOKIES BEFORE!! They’re delish aren’t they! 😀 I made the same subs as you as well!!
And that’s a great idea! Your colleagues are very lucky people! 🙂
Whoa those look amazing – I love soft and chewy cookies! 😀
wow, you sold me on those! i could use healthier cookies that taste like brownies and satisfy chocolate cravings 😉
These sound SO GOOD! I bet they’d be good with some raspberries mixed in 😉
Mm! Those look delicious and EASY.
AHH DENSE cookies are my FAVORITE.. those look freakin YUM
Those look amazing. I might have to try them soon.
Mmm! These look great and very simple to make!
Mmmmmm looks delicious!
i wanna make them right nowww haha.. did you leave the batter for a couple of hours? x
haha no i didn’t. i was way too impatient for that!
hehe i just made some.. i doubled the measurements & left them in the fridge for a short while whilst i did some other stuff
They’re quite nice! 🙂
These look incredible! So happy that they’re gluten-free 🙂
Mmm they look so gooey! 🙂
Those look incredible! And I thought gluten-free too, the second I saw it!
I have your exact same evening planned except minus the groceries and plus vacuuming 🙁
Those look so fudgey and hearty!!
Yum! I was watching Iron Chef late last night and it was a battle chocolate episode. I had a whole new world opened up about how you can use chocolate in cooking! Thankfully, I was already in a sugar coma from a giant piece of mousse cake I ate for V-day, so no urge to make anything!
I have never made anything “flourless” although these look delish. I bet they would taste amazing topped with PB and with choco chippies!
Don’t waste those on your coworkers, keep those babies for yourself! You can just tell them that you thought about making cookies for them…it’s the thought that counts, right? 😉
I love that show! Those cookies look so good…I was looking for something to bake tonight…I think I was just inspired!
Omggggg this looks SO good!!! You had me at “cookies that taste like brownies…” I must make these.
those look awesome!
i make a microwave snack bar that uses oats, chocolate and PB that the texture of my bar looks really similar to these cookies.
i love how you said they were brownie like. SOLD! 🙂
brownie like cookies are THE BEST!!!
Aw I guess I left at a bad time 🙁 haha. Probably wouldn’t be able to eat them anyways ha! Thanks again for being an amazing host! I always love visiting you and Ryan!
YUMMM. I want these. ASAP. Maybe tomorrow I will bake some with red sprinkles too- thanks for the V-day idea 🙂
Those look soo good and seem ridiculously easy to make! Will have to star it for a day of indulgences 🙂

I have just made the cookies, so easy to make and deliciously fudgy, thanks for the idea! Only problem is the batch only made 9 cookies, I’ve already eaten 2, and the others don’t get home from work/school for another 4 hours! Think I might need to nip to the shops for more cocoa to make another batch…it is Valentine’s Day after all!! 🙂
Those cookies look so good! They look fudgy and rich! I definitely need to try them! 🙂
So glad you enjoyed the cookies so much!
ohh those look yummy!
Your flourless peanut butter cookies have become a staple in my diet…I probably make a batch at least once every two weeks! I have a feeling I’m going to LOVE this recipe too!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Yesterday foodnetwork also aired the “Nutty” episode. First up was Tyler Florence’s favorite peanut butter!! White chocolate pretzel PB from a restuarant called Spread in CA. I thought of you immediately when I saw it! You can order all of their yummy PB but you have to be ready to spend a good bit of cash! Probably worth it though 🙂
Yum! Absolutely delicious.
These cookies look amazing! I cant wait to try them
So glad you enjoyed the cookies!
