On Saturday it was in the 80s in Charlotte but on Sunday, the fall weather rolled in once again. It was a rather drizzly day and since we had a feeling the dreary weather might deter a lot of people from visiting the incredibly popular local corn maze, we decided it was the perfect time to drive over to Huntersville to check it out.
The Amazing Maize Maze is a seven-acre corn maze located on the Rural Hill farm in Huntersville, North Carolina.
Ryan and I have visited a handful of corn mazes in the past and always have a great time. (If you live near Zellwood, Florida, the corn maze at Long & Scott Farms is a lot of fun!) This maze was no different. It was a blast! It was also probably the best constructed corn maze I’ve ever been to and, as a former Floridian, I loved that the maze walkways were not soft sand.
It’s the little things!
After a brief orientation with a Maze Whisperer (as Ryan called him), we were ready to navigate our way through the tall cornstalks.
I was in charge of the activity sheet while Ryan took over flag duty.
Someone clearly liked his job!
Each group that enters the maze is given a flag so you can wave it frantically if you need help. Someone watching from a tall tower will guide you through the maze and help you out just in case it becomes a little too overwhelming. Ryan obviously loved being on flag duty.
The activity sheet I carried had a few different activities you could complete in the maze if you wanted to add a little more fun to the experience.
We completed the map activity which helped us navigate our way through the maze. Eventually we came upon a family that was obviously at the exact same spot in their journey that we were, so we ended up following them out. They were kind enough to take our picture when we finished and their little girls cracked us up because they yelled an enthusiastic “CHEESE!!!” as we smiled for the camera.
(They’re directly to my left!)
Before we left, we made sure to pick up some pumpkins and say hi to Angus the scarecrow.
It was a great festive fall day and I highly recommend the Rural Hill Amazing Maize Maze to anyone in the Charlotte area (especially those with kids)! It was a lot of fun!
It looks like you had a great weekend – I am dying to do something fall-ish like that! My weekends have been crazy busy. Love your outfit that you wore, very cute!
Happy Monday!
Thanks, Torry! It was a lot of fun — hope you get a chance to relax a bit! 🙂
Hi Julie! I’m not really sure how else to contact you so i’m just going to leave a comment on this post (which makes me really want to go to a corn maze by the way!) You mentioned in a previous post about a hair care product that you said helps your hair grow. It was in a little round tub and I can’t find the post anywhere. I’m dying to grow my hair out for my wedding next year and can’t find anything that works.
Thank you so much!
Hi Kendra,
I think this is the post you are looking for…hope this helps!
The link would help. https://www.pbfingers.com/2014/09/30/pbf-favorites-hair-products/
Thanks so much for chiming in!! 🙂 Very helpful!
Yes! That’s it! Thank you so much. I was wandering around Ulta the other day trying to pull it up on my phone. 🙂
I think you already have the answer from these awesome helpful readers but yes, it’s the Lee Stafford Treatment for Hair that Never Grows Past A Certain Length. 🙂 I buy it at Ulta but you can also order it online through Amazon. 🙂
Thank you! I couldn’t find it at Ulta to save my life (then again I didn’t know what i was looking for) 🙂

It is in that post. I am going to use it too!
What a fun weekend! I was just saying I want to go to a corn maze! I love that they give you a flag in case you need help since it’s easy to feel pretty lost up there.

OHMYGOSH – swooning over your jacket! You both just look so FALL. I’ve never done a corn maze, but they always look like such a blast!
I don’t think I could handle such a big corn maze. I always get freaked out in them and my claustrophobia gets the best of me. It looks like an amazing maze though!
I love corn mazes, and this one looks like so much fun! Fall and winter are my favorite seasons… I cannot get enough of the holidays and traditions that go along with them. I’ve been a baking machine since October 1st – I can’t stop!
Hope you have a wonderful Monday!
Thank you for the inspiration! Chris and I are dying to get into fall and with the apple shortage here, and the pumpkin farms mostly for kids, we are strugglin! Corn maze is perfect, I’ll have to find one in the area-esp since I am also too chicken for haunted houses 🙂
The flag is a good safety net idea. The corn maze near me has a phone number you can call from INSIDE the maze if you get lost…I’m still trying to figure out how that one works. “I’m lost…there is corn to my left…and more corn to my right.” haha!
Haha!
I love your outfit! The jean jacks + leather look so cute together!
That looks like so much fun!! I’ve never been to a corn maze. Don’t even know if they have any in CA to be honest with you. If they do they are not by me. I would probably freak out though! Lol.
You look so cute and the setting is so beautiful with the pumpkins.
Love the flag idea! Mazes always scare me!
Such a fun fall weekend! 🙂
I’ve actually been to this corn maze too! I did a “travel” story on it out of Asheville! It is such a great corn maze! Glad you had fun!
Fun weekend! I love a well constructed corn maize. Cute, festive outfit too!
My husband and I have been wanting to check out that maze! The day we were originally planning on going would have been a night time maze, which kind of creeped me out haha. We’ll have to go during the day soon!
I love these pictures! They remind me of a farm about 20 minutes away from my family home called Springridge Farm. I feel like you got lucky with the weather because they might have closed it down if the weather had gotten worse. I was “kicked out” of a farm once because of thunder. 🙂
Looks like it was such a fun weekend. Scary is not my thing so I don’t particularly enjoy haunted houses this time of year, but I can get on board with a corn maze! Looks like so much fun. I went through a small one back in college-definitely should do this again soon. And carve a pumpkin.
We are going to an apple orchard this weekend. Zombie Forest Night! Dressing up, live music, bonfire, hayrides and going through the maze in the dark!
How fun! I’ll take any excuse to get outside!
Looks like fun! I’ve never done a corn maze before!
I love your leather jacket! Totally rocking it!
That sounds like such a blast! My boyfriend and I would love this!
How fun! I’ve never done a corn maze before, but what a great fall activity. Can’t wait to go to the pumpkin patch by our house this year. Fall is by far my favorite season. 🙂
I’m in love with those boots! Where are they from?
Thanks! They’re Colin Stuart but I ordered them from Victoria’s Secret a few years ago. I cannot find them online anymore. :/
You guys were really brave going into the Maze….maybe I’ve seen too many horror films but I don’t think I could!!

You guys are the cutest! I ADORE your outfit! So fall-ish! 🙂
Cornmaizes are so much fun and on my fall bucket list!!!
HA, love the picture of Ryan. Living in the Midwest, we have a lot of corn mazes this time of year- they are so fun!
Super fun! I’ve never done a corn maze before. How festive:)
Love corn mazes!!! So much fun! This one looks awesome, and how cute are you two?! Back in my hometown a friend of mine’s family farm always does a maze every fall and the maze itself is always an image of something current or related to the town for that year!
that looks like fun! that’s smart that they give you a flag, I’d be paranoid that I would get lost in a maze like that!!! hah
Can you please tell me where you got those CUTE boots and jacket from?! or just the outfit in general 😉
Hi Aubrie! They’re both several years old, but the boots are Colin Stuart (I ordered them online from Victoria’s Secret) and the jacket is from Off 5th (brand is 5 48).
Love your outfit!!
Hahahaha “maize whisperer,” I laughed out loud!
Cute outfit girl! You are a poster of fall fashion!
What a perfect Fall day! Corn mazes can be fun unless they are TOO challenging… then I just get annoyed and frustrated! 😉
Looks like so much fun! I love the plaid shirt and leather jacket combo – where is the shirt from?
p.s. I can’t believe you missed the chance for a Maze Runner joke!
That looks like so much fun! They have an awesome corn maze about 30 minutes away from where I am from, and I used to love going. I miss it now!!
So fun! We have a date to go Friday night to a local corn maze with 2 other couples. I think they are so fun! I always feel like such a kid again 🙂 Glad you had an amazing weekend! And so exciting that your mom is coming for a visit (I already read your newest post so I decided to just include that tidbit in here so I didnt comment on both) Have a great Monday!!
I LOVE how you paired your leather jacket with the denim jacket! Brilliant:)
awwwww….you could not take sadie? Bummer
No dogs allowed 🙁 I checked!!
I did that same maze when I was in college! Don’t you think Mazen should run an amazing maize maze when he grows up?!
Hahha! Definitely! It’s too perfect 🙂
Julie, I am noticing more layers and mention of “cooler temps” now that you are living in Charlotte. I’m guessing you had some “fall/winter” clothing when living in Florida, but not a lot. Does this mean you are doing more shopping and adding more cooler weather clothing to your wardrobe? I absolutely love that red and white flannel shirt. Where did you get it?
The pumpkin patch and corn maze are always a fall fave!
sounds awesome! We also do a corn maze up here in Massachusetts and corn maze day is the best day of the year 🙂
