Father’s Day is this Sunday and I’m here today to share my annual Father’s Day Gift Guide with you. I always love sharing gift guides with you guys (it kind of feels like online shopping for me in a way which is a little too fun) and since I had a few of you ask me to share one this year, heeere ya go!
This Father’s Day is a special one since I’m shopping for two fathers this year – my dad and Ryan – so I’ve definitely been on the lookout for quality gift ideas for two of the guys I love most. I tried to include an assortment of gifts that would apply to a range of father figures, whether the father be your father, husband, grandfather, partner, uncle, thoughtful father friend, etc. Hopefully one of the ideas below will pop out at you if you’re on the lookout for a gift for a father figure in your life!
I’ll see ya tomorrow with my usual weekend recap. I hope you have a good Monday, my friends.
Father’s Day Gift Guide
- Yard Games
Is it just me or do most guys seem to gravitate toward playing various yard games during summertime cookouts? With summer nearly here, consider gifting a favorite yard game to a father figure in your life! We are a little partial to cornhole over here (and there are tons of sites you can order from that allow you to customize the boards or choose a favorite sports team!), but there are many options for various outdoor lawn games out there, including bocce ball, ladder golf and more.
This is another summery gift that might appeal to the dads out there who spend a lot of time on the water in the warmer months. A floating cooler is a hot commodity around here! An inflatable cooler you can keep in the water with you as you float about and have fun in the sun is a great addition to any day on the water!
- Trunk Club Gift Card
This is high on my gift guide list this year because it’s something that feels like a bit of a splurge that I think many men would appreciate that they may not have heard of and might not think to purchase for themselves. It’s also a gift I think they would appreciate, especially if they have any interest in fashion or dressing well. Trunk Club is a service open to both men and women that pairs you with a stylist who identifies your style and sends you a trunk full of clothes and accessories that suit your preferences and personality. Ryan has ordered three trunks over the past year or so and typically keeps two(ish) things per trunk. The items they’ve sent him always look tailored, trendy and classy. I love them! Their clothes are not cheap (from both a quality and pricing standpoint) but they look fantastic and I a gift card towards a guy’s first trunk would make a great gift! Bonus: There is no styling fee, so if the guy in your life does not like anything they send his way, he can send it all back without penalty.
I first fell in love with Bombas socks after I had the opportunity to try them out thanks to a blog collaboration and they quickly became my absolute favorite socks. Ryan to try them as well and echoed my love for the quality of the socks and I ended up giving them to my brother-in-law, Ryan and my dad as stocking stuffers for Christmas this year. I’ve only heard great things from the guys about them, so I think this would make a great gift for a guy who might be on the lookout for a quality pair of socks (whether he wears them to the gym or not)! And an added bonus? One pair of socks is donated to homeless shelters for every pair of socks purchased.
- Pre-Planned Guys Day
One of my girlfriends is doing this for her husband and I think it’s such a great idea. She is sending her husband and a couple of his buddies out for a day of golfing and an afternoon/evening at a favorite local brewery. (She is also offering to be the designated driver for the day!) I love this idea and think it’s a great one you can customize depending on your guy’s interests… If they’re a sports lover, buy tickets for them to see a favorite team play. If they love music, send them to a concert with a friend, etc.
- Cute Craft Or Photo Gift From The Kids
(Source)
Round up the little ones and put together an adorable craft project for dad! There are a billion ideas on Pinterest, so definitely search there for a wealth of ideas to find one that fits the father in your life. It’s a great inexpensive way to say “I love you” and show you thought about dad while incorporating the kids who made him a dad in the first place into the gift!
- Plan A Date Night (And Hire A Babysitter!)
Ryan and I have always been more into giving each other experiences over material gifts, so planning an experience or a fun date night out without the little one(s) might be a great gift for a father. Whether you select a romantic restaurant you’ve been meaning to try or a more unique activity (I highly recommend checking out a local cooking class together!), plan the date, hire the baby sitter and enjoy some quality time as a couple.
- A Personalized Father’s Day “Cake”
(Source)
Chalk this one up to Pinterest! I think this is such a cute idea and another one that’s easy to customize. Use dad’s favorite beer and snack foods to assemble a creative pseudo cake for him for Father’s Day!
Additional Ideas
- Fitbit Surge (Ryan and I both love this fitness watch so much!)
- New phone case
- Surprise car detailing
- Tickets to a concert/sporting event
- New board shorts
- New gym clothes
- Yeti cup
- Helinox chair (Great for camping or tailgating. My brother-in-law loves it!)
- Charles Tyrwhitt button-up (Ryan swears by these shirts for a tailored look.)
Question of the Day
- What are some of your favorite Father’s Day gift ideas?
- Are you doing anything special for Father’s Day this year?

Yard games are a great idea! I am treating my husband to a new grill as his grad school graduation is the day before – there is a lot to celebrate!

I’m all about giving experiences too! These are all such great ideas!

Hmmmm I think my mom might appreciate the Trunk Club membership more than my dad. She has been trying to improve his clothing habits for their entire married life… Trunk Club just might do the trick.

I’ve found that Andrew Clements’ book, Because Your Daddy Loves You, is a great gift from little ones to their dads!

I suggested the Helinox chair for my husband to my MIL for Christmas (after you posted it on your gift guide)…we love that thing! And not even for camping – we have it set up in our kids room. I love nursing in it! It is so lightweight and comfortable. I’m hoping I get one this Christmas so that when we do go camping both the hubs and I have a comfy place to rest.
Julie says
So glad to hear it!!
Sarah @ Sweet Miles says
I made a guide this weekend too! I’m sticking with making my husband a fun art craft from Adeline and then I ordered him a cute “dad” t-shirt with a fun saying on it. Love the idea of yard games. Cornhole is always a blast!

My Dad & I usually take a trip down memory lane & visit the places he’s lived growing up. It’s a great way for him to share some family history with me. We always go pay our respects to his father at the cemetery & then head to lunch at one of his favorite places.

This is so sweet. I’m sure it’s a great gift to your dad (and you as well). <3

That cake is the cutest thing ever! I think I might have to do that for my dad. Thanks for the suggestions!

The Trunk Club is a fantastic suggestion! I just went and purchased a gift card for my husband. He is notoriously hard to shop for and really doesn’t like tchotchkes, but some new clothes is exactly what he would love to have! Thank yoU!

I think Bombas was also on Shark Tank? It is great to see them thriving!! Bought my husband some socks but they are “Stance” socks they are pretty awesome!

Men are so difficult to shop for. I really appreciate that you put this guide together. Thank you.

Love the “pre-planned guys day” idea! I flew my (now husband) boyfriend’s best friend and brother up to Seattle when we were living there. He was completely surprised and sent them to a comedy show and put them up in a hotel downtown so they could enjoy themselves without worrying about a DD or taxi ride back to suburbia.
It was a hit! May have to consider doing something similar again soon. Love your friend’s idea of incorporating golf!
Melissa @ melissakolbeck.com says
I love that floating cooler idea!
Heather @ Polyglot Jot says
In general, I find it way harder to shop for guys! I usually try to get something for my dad that him and my mom can do together. Last year I bought them tickets to a lighthouse tour in cape may so they could have a day trip together. This year I’m doing all things he can eat and all food I know he loves!
Tricia @ A Couple of Dashes says
These are great ideas! I especially love the yard games and floating cooler. So much fun!

The We <3 Daddy photo is too cute!
