Ryan and I usually do something we’ve dubbed our “Valentine’s Day Mission” where we will split up for an hour or two at a local mall or outdoor shopping plaza and shop for fun and unique budget-friendly gifts for each other, usually under $30 or so. We’ll then meet up to exchange our gifts over dinner or a special homecooked meal and it’s always so much fun! I’m not sure our Valentine’s Day Mission will be possible on a Tuesday night with a toddler’s bedtime looming but I highly recommend it for anyone out there looking for a unique way to celebrate in a fun and inexpensive way. It was always a blast!
For those of you who may wish to spread a little love to your significant other, friends, family or children tomorrow but are currently scratching your head trying to come up with fun ways to show you care, below you will find a quick roundup of some Valentine’s Day gift idea posts I’ve shared on the blog in the past with lots of last-minute ideas that will hopefully help you come up with something that will make someone you love smile tomorrow!
Valentine’s Day Ideas: Last Minute + Easy to Assemble
From date night idea jars to baked “stud muffins” and homemade lip balm, this blog post contains a roundup of ideas that will appeal to those looking to say “I love you” to partners, family and friends alike!
I assembled this gift basket for Ryan for Valentine’s Day last year since we were new parents and had no desire to dress up and leave the comfort of our house. It was the perfect gift for a couple who loves nothing more than cuddling up on the couch in a cozy pair of pajamas with good food and good wine. (<— Me and Ryan 100 percent!)
Perfect for the procrastinators out there! From thoughtful and creative cards to easy-to-assemble treat boxes, this post has a handful of customizable ideas you can put together even if you’re short on time.
A roundup of creative budget-friendly Valentine’s Day gift ideas, perfect for those who love to get a little crafty (and those who don’t)!
This was the first Valentine’s Day-related post I shared on PBF back in 2012 and it features a few of the homemade Valentines I’ve created for Ryan over the years.
This blog post includes a handful of budget-friendly date ideas for the couple who enjoys sharing a fun experience together rather than exchanging gifts on Valentine’s Day.
Question of the Day
- What is one of the most memorable gifts you’ve given or received on Valentine’s Day?

Aw I love the idea of your little Valentines Day gift exchange. We usually try to plan a day/night together. Usually involves shopping for things we need then a nice dinner out. We wanted to do it this weekend, but I was stuck with a cold.

I love the date night at home basket. It’s such a good idea! Now if only I could pull it off by tomorrow…
One of the most thoughtful Valentine’s Day gifts I’ve received was from my high school boyfriend. We had a favorite Italian restaurant that we just loved, but I got really sick on Valentine’s day. So instead of canceling everything all together, he ended up getting me soup from that restaurant at home and we just watched a movie. So sweet, and I still got to have my favorite restaurant!

That is really sweet!

I love these ideas!!! This sounds right up me and my boyfriend’s alley!
It’s definitely going to be a last minute kind of Valentine’s Day since my birthday is today.
I hope you and Ryan have a great one! xoxo

What fun ideas! For the first Valentine’s day with the Hubs he gave me this mini pink laptop. It was a super simple one… basically just for internet searching and such… BUT it turned out to be what I blogged on for the first three years! lol! Now we don’t do anything extravagant at all and that’s ok too! 🙂

Love the date night idea! Pretty much us since I won’t be getting home till 8pm or later!

Loving the date night in idea and that board you shared from back in the day! Being 8 months pregnant + freezing cold and snow in the northeast = nothing better than curling up on the couch with good food, hot cocoa and a movie 🙂 We do that a lot anyway, but the basket makes it festive!

I love the date night in baskets. I would much rather stay in drinking wine and eating a good meal than try and dine at a crowded and expensive restaurant. I love all of the round ups! So many fun ideas!
Marisa says
Thanks for the ideas! I really needed this today! I am going with the 12 months of dates ideas.
Julie says
Yay! Glad you liked it! The date jar is so fun!

I’m on a mission this afternoon to find some fun Valentine’s Day treats for Adeline’s preschool teachers! And this morning, my husband had 2 dozen red roses delivered! Feeling the VDay love over here!

I love all of these suggestions so much! My boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine’s Day last weekend, but I still love to have a little small celebration the day of. The Stud Muffin idea is AMAZING, and tomorrow is leg day, so a double win! High carb all around!

The older I get, the more I’m seeing people dislike Valentine’s Day. For this reason I’ve adopted the Finnish holiday “Friendship Day” instead! Seems to generate a more positive vibe than the couple-oriented Valentines 🙂 But I do like the idea of quietly celebrating with my boyfriend, and this year I thought of an idea: since we’re moving from our University town this summer, I’ve rounded up all the places that are meaningful to us either as a couple or individually! I made a map which we will spend the evening de-coding. From restaurants to our usual “meeting points,” each spot is meaningful and I hope it will be fun to re-visit these some forgotten places! 🙂

I love these ideas. I’m always on the hunt for simple, sweet gifts for loved ones. Last Valentine’s Day I made my husband homemade donuts and he made me angel food cake. It was perfectly simple, relaxing, and tasty.

I usually do something crafty, although I am not crafty at all. Last year I did the candy words to create a card and this year I got a deck of cards and did the 52 reasons I love you. We are just making dinner at home since its during the week but that is almost better, low key and in sweat pants.
Heather @ Polyglot Jot says
Great ideas! I always try to do something a little extra special becuase Vday is also my husband’s birthday! Love the date night in a basket idea!
Rachel @ Health My Lifestyle says
Love these ideas! This year my husband and I celebrated early on Sunday and cooked a delicious meal together and watched Finding Dory haha. It was lovely!
Our first Valentine’s Day together he made me a bouquet out of candy–I have a HUGE sweet tooth so this totally won me over.
