My time at the gym began with a 20 run on the treadmill that looked like this:
I blasted by half marathon playlist and really got into it. Thank goodness the treadmills at my gym don’t face people because I was lip synching my heart out like a fool. Sometimes the music just moves ya.
Once I was done on the treadmill, I walked into the weight room to complete an upper body workout that left my arms feeling quite fatigued. I lifted heaver weights than usual and really felt the burn. It was a good one!
Breakfast
Breakfast today was delicious!
While this may look like a typical bowl of overnight oats, it tasted like oatmeal peanut butter cookie dough! I need to measure the ingredients out to share this with you guys because I have a feeling my fellow peanut butter fanatics would enjoy it a lot.
I omitted the Greek yogurt in my typical overnight oats and added peanut butter and a bit of brown sugar to the mix before letting it sit overnight. So good!
I hope you’re having a great Monday!
Please do share the recipe, sounds great!
i definitely will! it was so yummy!!
Can’t wait…this might be the recipe that finally gets me to try overnight oats!
Can’t wait for the recipe! Overnight oats are great because there is close to no morning prep! 🙂 …and if there is PB involved–hard to resist.
YUM! as a fellow peanut butter lover, I am anxiously awaiting this recipe!
That looks great! Since going mostly paleo I don’t get to do the over night oats thing any more but I have found some great recipes with just chia seeds!
Have you tried the new Chobani flips? I have a feeling they would be awesome as an overnight oat recipe, especially the Almond Coco Loco flavor!
no, but now i want to!
i love chobani and the Flips are pretty good, but i can’t really justify the 230 calories and sugar content just for a greek yogurt! rather have some ice cream, no?? 🙂
(actually, i may have lied on the 230 but it’s definitely close to 200!)
I would SO be all over that breakfast if it tasted like oatmeal peanut butter cookie dough. Um, yum!! 🙂
Can’t wait for you to post the recipe. Oatmeal cookie dough and peanut butter are my two favorite food groups.
Was the first 8 minutes of your run a warm up or do you do anything else to warm up? I’m looking for advise or tips on how others warm up before a run.
Your oats look so good!! Please share the recipe!! 🙂
Any oatmeal that tastes like peanut butter?! I’m in!!
oh how i miss running
I loooooove when my arms burn in the gym b/c of lifting heavier. YAY!
Yes….we definitely need the PB oat recipe!!
The best food always looks the worst doesnt it?! That looks awful, but I know its gotta be SO good 😉
Lip syncing at the gym is essential for me. I’m pretty sure people think I’m a fool. That’s fine with me though…it keeps me entertained!
I lipsynch when I’m running on the treadmill constantly. I don’t realize I’m doing it until I catch a glance of myself in the mirrors in front of me and I look like a total idiot. I can’t help it that my playlists are so flippin’ catchy! 😛
Mmmmmmm. Those oats look amazing!!! I can’t wait for you to share the recipe!
Um definitely need a recipe for that one – it looks amazing!
can’t wait for that recipe!
I’m definitely gonna jot down this workout for tonight at the gym. It’s time for me to start running consistently a bit faster. I usually just cruise around a 5.5-6.0 on the treadmill, but would like to bump that up. I think this would be a great way to start hitting those higher speeds comfortably 🙂
This breakfast sounds DELICIOUS 🙂
I never thought about adding PB, what a great idea. I dont like yogurt in my overnite oats anyway, so PB would be a great addition!
I made a “Peanut butter cookie dough” overnight oat recipe last year, it’s still one of my favorites! http://www.clairetherd.com/breakfast-food-friday-link-party/
YUM PB OATS!!! How did you not take the day off after having your race yesterday?!
uh–gotta have that recipe!
Looks like a really quick and efficient treadmill workout- definitely good for days with limited time!
This girl, is totally gonna make those oats! Awesome idea!
Would love the recipe for your overnight oats! Your 20 minute treadmill workout looks like a perfect fit for me! I’ll have to print it out! Sometimes I worry that people will notice me lip singing in the mirror…awkward haha
Uh, yes. Please share that one. Sounds delicious.
The Kidless Kronicles
YUM! Those overnight oats look amazing!! Love that idea!
Ummm yes, I cannot wait to hear the details about your peanut buttery overnight oats! It sounds right up my alley!
Mmmm looks so tasty~everyone else thinks so too 🙂 And I miss interval runs so much! Soon enough I’ll get there~soon enough, hehe
This overnight oat combination sounds amazing! Love anything with peanut butter
It’s the best when you make a creation and it tastes amazing.
Those oats sure do look tasty!! 🙂 I am a total lip syncer at the gym too….oops!! Oh well, it makes the time go by!
I run the north face trail runs 🙂
Hahaha I’m laughing about the lip synching comment because I did your 20 minute incline workout as a warm-up today and definitely lip synched to some Bell Biv Divoe ‘Poison’ and Montell Jordan’s ‘This is How We Do It.’ Who doesn’t want to jam out to that?!
I tried to like this hahahah
i think you and i are a match made in music heaven. LOVE both of those songs.
Great idea to put in the peanut butter and brown sugar instead of yogurt! I wonder if almond butter would make it taste just as good?!? Ill definitely give this recipe a try though!
I tried overnight oats twice….wasn’t really a fan…I like hot oats way better!
I always lip sync on the treadmill! ha I love it! No shame.
haha I know whatcha mean with the lip syncing …one time “Take Me Home Tonight” came on my 80s pop pandora and I narrowly avoided jumping off the elliptical and starting a dance party in the weight room. Cant wait to hear the recipe for those oats!!
I love workouts that make treadmill runs go by quick!
That workout looks great! Pluuus your breakfast looks amazing!
I love this workout. Nice and quick!
Yum! It looks tasty- yes must share!
Yum, yes please share the recipe!
Can you share your arm workout? I’m always looking to mix up my upper body routines.
