First Post – Holla!!!

September 7, 2009 by Julie 22 Comments

Welcome to Peanut Butter Fingers… my very own yummy foodie blog! I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a blog for a while now and have finally decided to be a big girl and (in the words of Nike) just do it. This is the birth of Peanut Butter Fingers!

peanut-butter-spoon

I created this blog to share creative, (mostly) healthy recipes with family and friends. I love cooking, baking and experimenting in the kitchen and will post my recipe successes and failures, along with pictures to detail my foodie adventures. I am in NO way a chef or even an amazing cook… cooking just happens to be a great interest of mine, along with healthy living and an active lifestyle.

Though I mention it on the “About” page of this blog, peanut butter fingers are my faaavorite snack. Since you’re supporting my brand new blog-venture, I’ll share the recipe with you:

Ingredients:

One jar of peanut butter (any kind, smooth or chunky)

Equipment:

One finger

Directions:

Peel away protective seal of peanut butter jar. Take your finger and dip it in the jar. Lick your finger. Repeat.

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I always like to go back and see what people wrote for their first blog entry. Yours is too cute!

You’ll be happy to know that I had a spoonful of peanut butter for dessert last night!

I’ve never put my finger in the peanut butter jar! And I’ve never eaten a plain spoonful of PB either.

    Maybe I am missing out?!

RhodeyGirl is definitely missing out!! I also sometimes do this with Nutella (shhh, don’t tell my husband – this is why we have to buy it so often).

This is not embarrassing at all Julie, it’s actually really cute!

REALLY throwing it back right now but ahhh your first post! As everyone else has said, it’s so cute and well-done! I’ve been thinking about starting a food and fitness blog for a couple of years now and it’s been so hard to finally work up the nerve to just start it. I’ve played around with layouts and names for a little while but had a serious mental block up about actually writing anything. I’ve always loved to write but for some reason sharing what I write with others has always been really scary to me. I literally woke up at 4:45 AM this morning and just had this jolt of energy and inspiration to stop overthinking it and just get started! I’ve been following PB Fingers for a few years now and I can honestly say that you played a HUGE role in sparking my interest in cooking, fitness, and especially blogging! You really inspire me, Julie!

Hi Julie, I am new to your blog and just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying it. I often catch up on your old posts while nursing my six week old daughter. That is something we have in common, although this is baby number three for me, but honestly she sometimes feels like baby number one all over again as my kids are 14 and 16. It’s been a long time!
Anyhow, Chase is adorable! And so is Sadie! Keep up the great blogging!
