Dog Fun
After work today Ryan and I entertained Sadie by taking her to the dog park before swinging by PetSmart to pick up some chews for the pup.
As always Sadie enjoyed playing multiple rounds of fetch.
When the sun started to set, we headed to PetSmart where Sadie modeled the latest in doggie fashion.
By the time we got home we were hungry! I knew dinner needed to come together quickly to satisfy our rumblin’ tummies.
Dinner
My favorite way to enjoy vegetables is to roast them in the oven with a lil’ olive oil, salt and pepper or garlic salt. It seems like this tried and true way of preparing vegetables works on almost any veggie.
Tonight I roasted a whole bunch of cauliflower and zucchini to enjoy along with al fresco sundried tomato chicken sausage.
The veggies and sausage were a great combination and the flavors really complimented each other.
Fiber One Bars = Lots O’ Farts
Following a discussion about Fiber One bars today, my friend send me a hysterical link to one person’s experience after eating Fiber One bars.
Let’s just say things got a lil’ stinky:
“Step aside Kashi GoLEAN Crunch, and say hello to Fiber One Bars. Never, ever in my entire life, have a dropped as much ass as I do after eating these. I mean, check out the nutrition label, it speaks for itself!
I’ve done some research and evidently it’s the chicory root that causes the gas. I don’t know about all that, but I do know that the human body is not designed to do what it does after eating these bars.
When I think back on the top ten loudest and longest farts of my life, I can honestly say 10 of them happened all at once about 2 hours after eating a Fiber One bar.
I conducted an unscientific test to see if others were affected like I was. One person told me they farted so loud that they woke them self up in the middle of the night. Another told me that her drug-free childbirth was much more comfortable than her brush with the Fiber One bar.”
I apologize to any of my more mature blog readers who do not find potty humor as hysterical as I do. 🙂
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
LOL – one of my clients used to call Kashi cereal the ‘ass blower.’ Gross, but true.

I wanted to take my puppy to the dog park today, but the rain just wouldn’t stop!! haha I like the nutrition label, its cracking me up!

So what temp do you roast your veggies and for how long? You use fresh veggies I assume?? Thanks! 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
i usually roast them at 375 for about 20 minutes (flipping half way through) unless i’m extra hungry & want them right away, in which case i’ll roast them at 400 – 415 degrees for 15-20 minutes or so. 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
& yes, fresh veggies for roasting!
Tim says
Actually the Wall Street Journal contacted me about my article. There was a story written that was more in depth about my experience with Fiber One farts and packaged “health” food in general. It was written and turned in but the WSJ editors evidently didn’t have the “stomach” for it. 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
that’s awesome! but i can’t believe it wasn’t published!!! i was literally snorting i was laughing so hard when i read this!
midgetkeeper says
Hahahah I love this. I have two brothers, therefore gas= funny.

peanutbutterfingers says
we got sadie from a breeder in alabama. here’s their web site: http://www.mountaintopvizslas.com/ definitely keep me posted if you’re thinking of getting one! there are also a lot of wonderful vizsla rescue organizations out there that we discovered after we got sadie. 🙂

I can only eat them if I have no human contact that day lol…they upset my stomach big time!

Everyone I know that has ever eaten these bars has stomach issues after… I cannot go near them! I get these horrible pains that are so sharp, all throughout my stomach. It’s literally painful!!!
Btw.. Sadie is SO ADORABLE. How old is she? she looks really hyper (like my dog.. who is 5.. we are wondering when he will ever calm down!) And what breed? Shes a beauty… so cute.
peanutbutterfingers says
thanks! we love her to pieces. she’s a 2-year-old vizsla & IS super hyper. she’s half insane, i swear! 🙂 but we love her & all of her energy! what kind of dog do you have?
Emily says
when we got my dog he was a few weeks old and we were sold a “miniature shih tzu”… we later found out that mini shih tzu’s do not exist and that my puppy was severely neglected (underweight, abused, etc….he was only 2 lbs at the time)… now that he is a beast.. oops, i mean now that he is grown up we think he is a mix of shih tzu and yorkie.. he has that brown coloring to him but has the underbite of the shih tzu…. hes got the nasty streak of a yorkie too… you cannot go near him while he is eating!! he growls and BITES HARD…he’s so cute tho! but he misbehaves 95% of the time… and has so much energy i hardly know what to do with him half the time!
Kelly says
Haha, that is hilarious. Note to self stay away from fiber one bars. Sadie is the cutest.
