Throwback

April 21, 2010 by Julie 22 Comments

Today’s lunch was a total childhood throwback meal: English muffin pizzas!

The Goods

My pizza crust was a toasted Thomas’ light multigrain English muffin.

I topped the crust with marinara sauce and shredded cheddar cheese and microwaved my mini pizzas for approximately 50 seconds.

Shredded Cheddar

Of course I would have preferred to bake them in the oven to retain some crispiness, but you work with what ya got, don’t you?

Maybe one day break rooms will have a full kitchen with a stove and an oven… 😉

On the side of my pizzas, I enjoyed steamed broccoli sprinkled with a little garlic salt.

Dessert

Before lunch, I enjoyed a little dessert (because that’s the best part of the meal anyway).

In honor of Administrative Professional’s Day, our office indulged in cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream cake (Ryan, I know you’re jealous!) and I had a big slice. I remembered to snap a pick about half way through.

Ice Cream Cake

I forgot how tasty ice cream cake is! It totally should have won the cake vs. pie challenge!

Of the following “cakes,” which is your favorite: cookie cake, ice cream cake or plain ol’ cake?

Ice cream cake all the way!!! 😀 (Actually, I’ll take all three, please.)

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

That’s tough! Ice cream cake is awesome, but I’d rather have regular cake or cookie cake WITH ice cream:)

I love english muffin pizzas!! Can you believe I never even had an english muffin until college?? My mom never bought them!!

Cookie cake, most definitely, but it’d have to be a slice with lots and lots of icing!! 🙂

Ahh I can’t see the English muffin pizzas, only the cake for some reason? I’ll take all three as well!! Haha, if I had to pick, probably ice cream cake, as long as it was covered in buttercream frosting!!

Definitely going to have go with ice cream cake as being the best. I have one every year on my birthday. But I wouldn’t turn down cake by itself or ice cream by itself either.

Well, if I can’t take all 3, then I would say regular cake…with a “spiced up” frosting like oreo cream or something yummy!

And english muffin pizzas? Oh man, they were one of my FAVORITE snacks growing up!

That looked like QUITE a delicious mix of a lunch today! 🙂
