Boat Day!
Warm Water, Blue Skies
We spent several hours crusin’ around the Gulf.
We also had a little stowaway on board!

Sadie loves the boat! We think she thinks she’s the skipper because she likes to be up front where she can feel the breeze.
When she’s not guiding the boat, she prefers to spend her time on our laps.

The weather was really warm and luckily the Gulf was a perfect 84 degrees which made swimming extra enjoyable!
Even Sadie got in on the action… in her life jacket of course. Safety first!

On our boat ride we saw some very active dolphins. One even lept far enought out of the water that we could see its entire body. It was really neat!
Lunch
Eventually the sun started taking its toll on us and we headed home for a late lunch.
While on the boat we snacked on pretzels, sugar snap peas and apples, but we were ready for something more substantial.
BBQ Chicken
While my mom made BBQ chicken, I ate a bunch of chips and guacamole. I was practically full by the time I sat down to lunch. :/
Still, that didn’t stop me from having a slice of the peach coffee cake for dessert.

Errands
After lunch, my mom, sister and I headed to the grocery store and Old Navy where they were having a $1 flip flop sale.
I wanted to pick up a bunch of flip flops to place in a basket at my wedding as “dancing shoes” for the women who wear heels and want to slip into something more comfortable at our reception. Unfortunately they were completely sold out of all their flip flops! Apparently Floridians like their flops!
When we got home, we took a sunset boat ride. Now we’re about to sit down to a late dinner.

I’m off to spend more quality time with the fam! We’re going to watch It’s Complicated tonight. I hope it’s a good one. We really enjoyed The Blind Side last night, so I hope we get lucky again!

I prefer the sea, the Mediterranean sea in particular as I am from there! 🙂 But not only because of that, it really is amazing! For me nothing tops the sea. Ah Sadie is such a cutie! My dog is a gem but is veryyyyy hesitant around water so we can’t bring her on the boat : / fortunately she finds other ways to get her adventures in!
I love the poisoned Sadie picture! I’m definitely an ocean person. I have a huge phobia of alligators, and hate the idea of getting into a lake – especially in Florida!

What a TOUGH question. I like the party atmosphere of a lake(yes me) but I like the laid back vacationing of the ocean.
Being from a teensy town in Texas, I am most def a lake girl! However, I do love the ocean…atleast the swim up bars close by! haha

Since I live in a middle state I guess I’d say I prefer lakes but the few times I’ve been to the ocean I’ve enjoyed it!

I love the ocean. It is so endless it’s enormity amazes me. I feel calm just listening to the waves. However, if I’m on a boat, I prefer lakes… I tend to get sea sick!

I prefer the beach, but LOVE going to the lake since we are usually with our best friends and it is always so much fun. Glad you had such a fun day! Sadie is too funny.
Do you have any tips for how you get your body in such great shape? I am getting married really really soon and would like to be completely comfortable on the honeymoon and the beach trip we’re taking with his family after. I’m not looking to lose any weight at all, but want to get my stomach totally flat and get great abs.
oooh i feel ya on wanting to feel confident on your honeymoon! i, too, want to feel like i can walk around in a bikini w/o worrying about how i look. for me, i don’t really struggle w/ working out regularly (i make it to the gym approx. 6 days a week most of the time) but eating well is the biggest key for maintaining a healthy body weight in my opinion. as they say, “abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym.” 🙂 it stinks, but i think it’s true. also STRENGTH training really gives the body a lot more tone and, to me, changes body shape better than cardio. congrats on your wedding!!!

So fun for your family. We live on a lake, so I guess that makes us lake people. The ocean would be too rough for me, plus we wakeboard so we like our “butter” (smooth surface).
