Another '80s Outfit + Overnight Oats

August 5, 2010 by Julie 32 Comments

Thank you for weighing in on Ryan’s ’80s attire decision last night. I’m pretty sure he’s going to go with the popular vote (Option #3), though I think he’s personally a little partial to Option #2.

We actually did a formal ’80s night on the cruise we went on with our friends last year and had a blast! I found a black velvet dress with poofy gold sleeves for only $16. It was hotter than heck to wear, but totally ’80s-tastic!

Oh Yes It's '80s Night, Oh What a Night

Last night two of Ryan’s groomsman arrived at our apartment to spend the night. Our friend Ross even took a minute to model his ’80s attire for you guys!

The Ross-o-Nater

Don’t you just LOVE those glasses?

I’m so excited for these guys. They’re gonna have a blast!

Workout

This morning (on very little sleep), Ryan, Ross and I headed to the gym for a quick workout. While Ryan and Ross did manly things like lift weights, I opted for 50 minutes of cardio that included:

  • 10 min. stair master
  • 15 min. adaptive motion trainer
  • 10 min. run
  • 15 min. elliptical

I was sufficiently sweaty at the end!

We finished our workouts with a 20-minute walk with Sadie. She loved all of the extra company!

Breakfast

Breakfast was oh-so-simple thanks to last night’s preparation.

I made myself a big bowl of overnight oats that included:

  • 1 c. Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 c. old fashioned oats
  • sliced strawberries
  • blueberries

Berry Good

Though I still prefer cold oatmeal, this combination was pretty darn tasty!

A Little Bit Closer Nawww

Mushy Gushy

A Mess of a Breakfast

It may look like a mess, but it  tasted deeeelightful.

I have another question about running with Sadie…

I am not a runner (more of a walk/jogger) and when I take Koda with me in the heat (like 90’s-100 degrees), she drags when I jog… but when I take her off leash, she runs around just fine… Sadie ever do that??

i’d love to know more about your grocery-shopping and how you decide on meals. do you meal plan or just go with what you feel like? I’m always looking for ideas on how to plan my food more carefully!

Yay for the overnight oats! I rocked those this morning, too…while watching Caitlin’s awesome segment.

Here’s a question: How can I arrange a trip down to Orlando to visit you for less than $50? 😉

I had overnight oats this morning too! Here’s my question – how do you Floridians run in 500% humidity? I can’t handle it!

I wish he wouldve gone with his heart and chose 2.

Please post about morning routine soon! I so struggle with getting out the door in a timely fashion. I’m always so impressed with how much you accomplish each morning. Actually since we’re talking about the morning, how early do you go to bed? I think this might be the reason I can’t get it together…

Oh one more thing, have you ever heard or tried the Ruff Wear running boots for Sadie? I’m just curious because I know hot concrete can really harm dogs paws.

I just add them all together, but I don’t stir them up the night before b/c I don’t like them too mushy. 🙂

Do you and Ryan ever get jelous of each other. For instance, I know what goes on at most Batchelor parties and Ryan is a good looking man, are you concerned about that? I know you trust him but when men are drunk and around friends they can get crazy.

well he’s not into the whole stripper thing, so i know that’s not on the agenda. 🙂 i honestly don’t get jealous when he’s out because i really do trust him. i know he’s a cutie & women will likely talk to him, but he’s always very upfront about being in a relationship and has never done anything to make me feel uncomfortable with him going out & having a good time without me. 🙂

A cruise for a bachelor party is going to be awesome. They are going to have so much fun. And I love how secure you are in his commitment to you. Jealousy and always questioning or having doubts don’t make a strong relationship foundation. You two exhibit a quality relationship.
