Sometimes Longer Isn’t Wrong(er?)

August 17, 2010 by Julie 31 Comments

Sometimes having a dinner that takes a little longer to cook is a good thing.

Tonight while a Jennie-O applewood smoked turkey tenderloin cooked in the oven for 45 minutes, I had a chance to plow through some dirty dishes, pack my lunch, throw a load of laundry in the washing machine and talk on the phone with my friend Leah!

After 45 minutes of checking little things off my to-do list, dinner was ready.

Along with the turkey tenderloin, Ryan and I enjoyed kidney beans and parsnip fries with ketchup for dipping.

YUM!

I’m flyin’ through this blog post tonight because Ryan and I have a hot date on the couch with my computer to look at a billion different honeymoon options. Thank you for all of your comments! We’re planning on browsing quite a few of the resorts and locations you guys suggested.

I’ll keep ya posted! 😀

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Check out Cape Santa Maria or Stella Maris on Long Island Bahamas. If you’re into freediving and yoga, my husband and I teach classes on the island. http://www.verticalblue.net There is also Bone Fishing and Cave Explorations. …Long Island is one of the few islands left mostly untouched. Not like the other Bahamanian Islands. It’s not very touristy, so there are hundreds of empty beautiful beaches…perfect for private and secluded enjoyment 😀 It’s long though, with settlements dotted along the one road that there is…so you would def. need to rent a car!

Or Chez Pierre!! That is where Billy and I spent our honeymoon. Private bungalows on a beach nestled in grape trees w/ little islands off in the distance that you can kayak or use one of those little pedal boats to get to. Annndddd, Chez Pierre is voted one of the best chefs in the Caribbean. His food is the best we have had anywhere in the world (not kidding) -only thing to consider is that the bungalows are all eco-friendly, so the water in the rooms is slightly salty and there is no AC (but the way the rooms are set up allows for a nice breeze)

Gotta love meals where you can stick it in the oven and forget about it for awhile. Looks delish! How do you prepare your parsnip fries? They always look perfect.

I missed your honeymoon post, but I’ll leave my recommendation here. My husband and I went to Anguilla in the British West Indies. It wasn’t too expensive and didn’t have a party or family atmosphere (at least it didn’t four years ago). Plus, food on that island rocks.

By the way, I’m not sure if you registered yet or not, but I used The Big Day (thebigday.com) and had much of my honeymoon paid for by my guests. It worked out so well.
