“It Tastes Like Juice!”

August 18, 2010 by Julie 51 Comments

Hold on to your hats… This post is gonna be a quick one!

Ryan and I have plans to head over to my friend Laurel’s apartment for game night this evening, so dinner tonight had to be a fast one.

Equipped with lots of leftover turkey tenderloin from last night’s dinner, we made a mixed plate of turkey, broccoli and carrots to enjoy this evening. Our meal came together quickly  thanks to a pack of Green Giant frozen veggies.

It looks a little messy, but it got the job done!

While assembling dinner, I also enjoyed a glass of Southern Red wine that my mom bought for me to enjoy during our wine tasting at Lakeridge Winery two weeks ago.

This was Ryan’s first time trying this wine and he said, “It tastes like juice!”

Exactly.

Why do you think this is the only red wine I’ve ever enjoyed? 😉

Time to go to game night!

Question of the Evening

For the wine-o’s:

  • Do you prefer red or white wine?

For the not-so-wine-o’s:

  • What is your drink of choice?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I love white wine, especially Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. I’m really not a red wine drinker at all, although I think I could stomach one that tastes like juice! Enjoy game night!

I used to be white only, now I’m a HUGE fan of red… it just grew on me…

Although one that tastes like juice may get me into trouble 😉

    Have fun @ game night!

Only recently have I started to enjoy red wine. I used to only prefer the sweeter white wine. However, I will only order white wine when I’m at social events so I can avoid the purple lips and teeth that red wine tend to give me!

I LOVE Pinot Noir, so I’m a red girl and can’t do the sweet ones anymore

Since you like the sweet reds, try San Sebastian’s Red wine…it’s from Florida (St Augustine) 🙂

I’ve always been more of a red wine fan. It’s just so enjoyable to drink, especially compared to the vodka/diet coke mix I used to have. Eek.

BTW, I’m not big on frozen meals, but I really like the Green Giant veggie mixes!

It has to be sweet and not overly dry. I probably prefer white over red, though not a big drinker of either. I can’t seem to find any that I’m in love with.

I’m not a big drinker, but when I do drink, I tend to go for a margarita or a bacardi/diet. Rum is my favorite liquor though, so I like just about anything mixed with Rum. 🙂

I love sweet white wines, and unfortunately can’t drink reds or dry whites at all. The sulfite levels are higher in dry wines – and reds specifically, and sulfites are probably the biggest of my many migraine triggers. 🙁

I’m a major wino!!!! I love white wine when it’s warm outside, and red wine during the colder months. I go through phases, too. I was in a Pinot Noir phase, followed by Cabernet, Riesling, and now Chardonnay. I don’t discriminate. 😉 In fact, I’m enjoying a nice, big glass of Chard as I type this out. 🙂 Wine is definitely my drink of choice. Almost tied with an extra dirty martini with 3 bleu cheese olives. Holy yum!!!!!!!

I love both red and white wine, but if I had to pick 1 drink as my fav, it would have to be the almighty MOJITO!! And I like mine the best (tee hee) because I don’t make them so sickeningly sweet like at the bars. I’m already thinking one day when I’m pregnant I can still have the virgin ones…pathetic, no? 🙂

reds all the way. Cotes du Rhones tend to be my favorite because they’re so drinkable – but I’m not a sweet wine girl. Vinho verde is a really tasty, summery white – light and almost bubbly!

my drink of choice, though, has to be a really well-made margarita, always on the rocks, made with Patron 😉

Is that the sweet red? I think it is the same as Vitners Red by San Sebastian Winery in St. Augustine. Very yummy. We introduced some friends to that and they loved it.

We drink a lot of reds and riestlings. I personally will drink most any type of wine 🙂

I am a huge wine drinker…and it started years ago with the sweetness of Riesling. I worked my way through all the whites, and didn’t enjoy red at all until a few years ago. Now, I prefer reds over whites most of the time…and find that my favorite red right now is Malbec which is a blend. Delicious!

I love all wines! (in case you couldn’t tell from my blog) In the summer I tend to lean more towards white and in the colder months, red is my typical go-to. For whatever reason the end of the summer has had me leaning toward more red. Not sure what that’s about? I think wine is definitely an acquired taste. Start with the ones you enjoy and before you know it your taste buds will be hooked!
