After functioning on about four hours of sleep yesterday, I slept like a rock last night.
It felt good to head to the gym feeling refreshed.
This morning, I took a BodyPump class and followed it up with a 40-minute walk with Sadie since I wanted to spend some quality time with my girl after being away for the weekend. BodyPump didn’t feel too hard today. I think the release that the instructor chose was an easier one which disappointed me a little bit because I was in the mood for a more challenging workout.
Breakfast
Today I waved goodbye to indulgent treats from this weekend and welcomed healthy food back into my life!
Hello, Greek yogurt, whole wheat toast and homemade granola.
The highlight of this meal was the homemade granola that I received from my friend Leah’s mom this weekend.
The granola is full of seeds, oats and nuts and tasted perfectly sweet and a little salty. It added a wonderful texture and a slight crunch to my yogurt. I need to get the recipe for this delicious mixture.
In Case You Missed It This Weekend:
Mmm…homemade granola! Especially with the sweet and salty combo. 🙂 Yes, please!
Mmmm greek yogurt.
Question for you!
Do you prefer Oikos or Fage? I was recently introduced to Fage and love it. I was wondering which one peaple prefer before I go buy some?
thanks!
i actually think fage is the best because it’s the thickest, but i usually buy whichever one is the cheapest! 🙂
I like how you serve yourself a little bowl of granola. I do that, too, but still always end up spooning it straight from the bag into my mouth. Really makes my supply disappear quickly!
haha i definitely ate a handful or two in addition to the amount pictured. 🙂 it’s so, so good!
Your weekend sounded like a lot of fun! Quick question still on the topic of yogurt. Do you sweeten your plain greek yogurt? If so with what.
yes i do… either with honey, pudding mix or a little bit of splenda. this morning i used one packet of splenda.
Oooh pudding mix, yum! That’s a really good idea.
I love granola and am jealous of your good portion control!
I love homeade granola! Always tastes better than the packaged stuff and you know what went into it.
ooh I hope you can get your hands on that granola recipe! it looks deeelish
homemade granola has NOTHING on store bought!! i just read your posts from your fun weekend with hometown friends! so fun! my best friends to this day are the ones I grew up with 🙂
i love eating well after vacation…it just kind of rounds out the experience of indulging and then coming home 🙂
Homemade granola = awesome! I am glad you had a fun weekend!
I’ve been to 4 BodyPumps now and I’m so addicted..I love how I feel afterward. I love the blogworld for getting my back into things I enjoy!
Homemade granola looks awesome!
After a weekend of indulging I totally need to “detox” with healthy foods. Do you find that your friends don’t eat at healthy as you–or was it just a celebratory atmosphere?
it was definitely a celebratory atmosphere with lots of more indulgent and special dishes.
That granola looks good! I’ve never tried to make my own but I feel like homemade would just taste much better and fresher… storebought can be kinda stale sometimes.
I hear ya, I definitely slept like a rock last night too! Still so tired today!
Mmmm, homemade granola is SO good!! I can go through way too much of it in one sitting though…dangerous!
It always feels so good to get back on track after a weekend of indulging! Hope you have a great Monday!
I love that you indulge over the weekends and start over during the week. I sometimes wonder if I’m wrong for doing that so its good to know that I’m not alone.
Looked like you had an awesome weekend! Hope you’re enjoying all the pre-wedding events. They’re the most fun 🙂
I love making homemade granola. It’s my go-to breakfast almost every morning + I love that you can control what is in it! Let me know if you want the recipe! 🙂
Please share the recipe for the granola if you get your hands on it- I’d love to try making granola at home 🙂
Welcome home Julie! 🙂
I LOVE homemade granola! This is my fave recipe — it has a couple unusual ingredients to keep it more low-cal, which is key for granola:
