Doggie Halloween costumes!
I wanted to wait to purchase Sadie’s Halloween costume with Ryan, but I have a feeling this one may be the winner:
Not only is the costume pink and totally adorable, but Sadie actually has a thing for pigs. Her first toy was a stuffed pig and her grandmas have added to her pig collection.
Puppy Sadie flash back…
She was the cutest lil’ puppy in the world!
Unfortunately for Sadie, this particular trip to PetSmart was not all fun and games.
We had business to attend to.
Sadie’s nails were in desperate need of clipping. Nail clipping and Sadie simply do not mix.
Get me outta here!!!
Luckily, we can turn her over to the people at PetSmart and within 10 minutes we have our dog back sans talons.
While I waited for Sadie, I visited the other animals and had to pry myself away from the kittens. They were so stinkin’ cute!
I thought Sadie would be done sooner than she was, so I wasted time creating this Where’s Waldo picture for you guys:
Where’s Julie?
Okay, so I wasn’t exactly well camouflaged… 😉
Eventually Sadie was done and in a much better mood! She wanted to sniff and explore, so we spent some time wandering around the store before stopping by the puppy training class to say hello.
Sadie actually graduated from the puppy training class at PetSmart about two and a half years ago.
She’s a good little shaker. 😀
Dinner
With clipped nails and wagging tails (Sadie, not me), we headed home to get crackin’ in the kitchen.
On the menu this evening was Hormel peppercorn pork tenderloin with roasted cauliflower and zucchini.
Ryan picked up the pork at the grocery store yesterday and we both thought it had a ton of potential. It smelled fantastic as it was cooking in the oven.
Unfortunately the end result was way too salty for me. I ate my portion, but wouldn’t buy this tenderloin again.
At least the veggies were great! Ya can’t go wrong with simple roasted vegetables.
I’m off to polish off the second half of yet another cookie from my bridal shower. These things are the JAM!
Sleep well tonight, friends!

Aww, it’s hard to believe Sadie was every that small! 🙂 She would make a cute pig but what an oxymoron! LoL
Liz @ LBBakes says
I had the Smithfield peppercorn pork tenderloin tonight and it was awesome! You should try that brand. 🙂
Amy @ VitaminAmy says
What a cute puppy 🙂 I’ve seen those tenderloins before at the store, now I know not to buy it…I hate overly salty food bleh! Sweet dreams xx

Sadie is precious!!!! Vizslas are the cutest puppies in the world. What? I’m not biased or anything 😉
But for real, Sadie was such a cutie!
I want Koda to be a lion… I just want to get a big furry mane for her to wear, and that would be all she’d need 🙂
Cooking in the pocket says
Cutest puppy ever!!! Love vizslas!!
Anna says
Oh my gosh! Sadie as a puppy is super cute! 🙂 I can’t believe she was that small!
Kristy @ KristyRuns says
Sadie was the cutest puppy! I can’t believe she was so tiny.
We took our pup to PetSmart puppy training classes a few years ago, too. They did a great job of teaching her the basics, and she can still do all the tricks. 🙂
Jamie @ Food in Real Life says

I’ve had that tenderloin too…super salty!

Awww love the sadie puppy pics! I was just looking back at my pup (Michael) when he was a few weeks old. Crazy how time flies!!

This post made my heart MELT, Julie! Sadie is such a blessing, awww 🙂 I love her! I love you too of course, and your fantastic blog, it’s definitely one of my favorites for sure.
I can’t wait to see Sadie on Halloween!!
Courtney @ Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life says
Sadie is such a cutie!! I really want to get Cody a Halloween costume – we got him a Christmas outfit last year, but he wasn’t exactly a fan. I’m definitely willing to try it again though! 🙂
Melissa says
Sadie is a cutie. My grandpa used to have a golden retriever named Sadie–she was a sweetie. I usually go with the unseasoned Hormel original pork loin, but I actually have a pre-seasoned one in the freezer. I think they are simple for a quick fix supper without requiring too much prep work.
Laura @ Backstage Pass to Health & Happiness says
Oh my goodness, Sadie’s puppy photos… what a cute little girl! I have been wanting a puppy for a while, and am gonna have to start bugging the boyfriend again.
I have a weakness for pet costumes… we may or may not have a special rubbermaid tote full of them. My dog may or may not have a Marilyn Monroe wig, a princess outfit and a raincoat with hood. And the cat has a crab hat.
Jenna says
I saw that costume at Petsmart the other day, and thinking of getting it for our puppy too! I’m sure he can wear it all the time! 🙂
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
well, my heart just melted at the sadie-puppy pictures. i think i need to beg nate for another dog…
Colleen says
Hee hee, your brussel sprouts are funny looking!
Sadie is so cute!
Bee Goes Bananas says
Aww, Sadie was such a cute puppy!
There are these pork chops that my family buys every once and a while that small delicious but are always so salty. It’s a disappointing feeling because they smell so good!
krista says
Your brussel sprouts look like cauliflower, must be a new variety. 😉
peanutbutterfingers says
woops!!!
Bess @ Bess Be Fit says
Sadie would definitely make a cute pig. And I also know the feeling of desperately needing to get the talon’s trimmed down…my lab’s nails are lethal…he doesn’t understand the weapon he has! Your dinner looked very yummy…sorry it was too salty for ya!
I need to look into getting a costume for Mav, but I don’t know if he’d let me put it on him!
Dana says
love love LOVE the Sady post/puppy pics. As an FYI, Target and Old Navy (!) have tons of doggie Halloween costumes, too. I tried the Old Navy Piggy costume on my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Cady (pronounced like Sadie with a C) but it was too big 🙁
Dana says
ooops, sorry Miss Sadie. I do know how to spell your name, I promise 🙁
Julie says
OMG Sadie was the cutest puppy ever!
Shelby says
Even though it’s only 6:45 am, those veggies look amazing.
Oh my gosh, Sadie was such an adorable puppy! I love the photo of you and her “shaking hands” 🙂
Rachel @ The Avid Appetite says
Ugh, nothing worse than cooking a great meal and it turns out too salty, too spicy, etc! At least the veggies were delish!
Katrina says
AWWWW!!!

That pork tenderloin looks juicy and tender….yum; however, I gave up pork almost a year ago now.
