Holiday Gifts for Those Who Love Food, Cooking and Baking

November 24, 2010 by Julie 32 Comments

Today’s lunch was a clean-out-the-fridge-before-leaving-for-Thanksgiving meal.

Crab salad…

Crab Salad

  • 1 can crab meat
  • Light Miracle Whip
  • Celery, chopped
  • Carrots, chopped
  • Old Bay seasoning (Definitely typed up “Old Spice” at first and realized my mistake when I went to link to the company’s website. Deodorant in crab salad? No thanks.)

Two bell peppers worth of pepper slices…

Peppa

And roasted red pepper hummus for dippin’!

Dip-a-Dip

Random, but it did the trick!

All Together Naaaw

Now for some holiday shopping F-U-N.

Holiday Gift for Those Who Love Food, Cooking and Baking

I recently received an email from a reader requesting holiday gift ideas for her sister who is a foodie and loves to spend hours in the kitchen, cooking up amazing meals and baking delicious goodies.

This request sparked a light bulb in my head and idea after idea began rushing in. Here are my top gift ideas for those people in your life who love food and spending an inordinate amount of time in the kitchen, reading food-related blogs and flipping through cookbooks… you know, like you do! 😀

  • Monogrammed mugs from Anthropologie:

Anthropologie Monogrammed Mugs

(Ryan and I received “J ” and “R” versions of these mugs at my bridal shower and use them all the time for hot cocoa, tea and even in lieu of bowls for oatmeal, ice cream and cereal.)

  • Retro Christmas plates by Rosanna:

Rosanna Retro Christmas Plates

(I purchased these on sale through RueLaLa two weeks ago and love them!)

  • Keep Calm and Eat Cupcakes print by TheLobsterPot at Etsy.com:

Keep Calm and Eat Cupcakes Print

(Other adorable versions include Keep Calm and Drink Coffee, Keep Calm and Drink Wine, etc. TheLobsterPot will also make custom prints.)

  • ’50s-Style Aprons by Jessie Steele:

'50s-Style Aprons

  • Silpat non-stick baking mat:

Silpat

(I received this as a gift from my friend Merri and use it every single time I make cookies. It’s phenomenal!)

  • Cooking Light Slow Cooker cookbook:

Cooking Light Slow Cooker Cookbook

(Only $10.39 on Overstock.com!)

  • Gold or silver wishbone necklace by FreshyFig at Etsy.com:

Wishbone Necklace

  • Gift certificate to a local cooking class:

Take a Class On Me!

  • Food-related magazine subscription (Cooking Light, Clean Eating, Food Network Magazine, etc.):

Cooking Light Magazine

Which of these gifts would you most like to receive?

If I didn’t already have it, I know I’d be lusting after the wishbone necklace. 😀

Wow! Everything is sooo cute!! I might have to pick the silpat though, because I’ve recently begun baking more than I was, so that would be awesome!

A silpat is already on my Amazon wishlist…and I’d ask for Cooking Light, but I usually just get their annual cookbook each year instead. Saves space and is far more durable than the magazines.

After seeing all your wedding posts with things you got on Etsy, I’ve been scouring it for my own wedding and other gift ideas and am now completely obsessed! I seriously think 90% of our wedding is going to come from Etsy 🙂

    Love the ideas!

I’d also suggest getting a 6mo or 1 yr CSA box for friends. It’s something a lot of people don’t want to buy for themselves, but would love it!

I looooove the apron :). The non-stick mat is also a gift I would love to receive! Parchment paper works well but not eco friendly!

Any one them would be great…I had to give up my crockpot for space reasons (and the fact that the vintage home we live in has sketchy power supply and isn’t “strong enough” for the crockpot!
The Silpat would be amazing and the apron is adorable BUT I already got my xmas gift…a new brakeline system for my car!
