And now we’re back to the real deal. Five day work weeks. Bleh!
At least we have the motivation of beginning a new year on a positive note to dull some of the pain. Speaking of motivation, I think people were really feelin’ it this morning because BodyPump was packed! Monday mornings are usually fairly busy, but today it was jammed. Resolutions are in full swing!
Breakfast
After BodyPump and a 2.5 mile walk with Ryan and Sadie, I came home ready for some sustenance.
I made myself a yogurt bowl that included vanilla Greek yogurt, homemade cranberry sauce and Kretschmer wheat germ.
Breakfast also included a naner.
Since the holidays are now officially over, I eased my post holiday blues a bit by unpacking the above Williams-Sonoma Nito place mat that Ryan and I received as a wedding gift. I love it!
I’m also feeling pretty excited because after my sluggish run yesterday I’m anxious to pick up the pace of my cardio workouts. I plan to revisit a lot of my old favorites, which you may see on my revamped “Work It Out” page.
Get ready to kick things up a notch around here! 😀

I’ve never had wheat germ before but it looks interesting 🙂 I cannot believe the holidays are over 🙁 ugh it makes me sad, haha! Now we have Easter to look forward to I guess!
Enjoy your day!

I completely agree with your “real deal” sentiment. Today the metro was PACKED and everyone at work is expecting so much productivity! I wish I could ease back into it… 🙂

Breakfast looks great! I am a little bit dreading the gym this week because I know it’s going to be PACKED! I actually signed up for a blogger fitness challenge that I can do from home so I have a bit of motivation in case I need out of the gym 🙂

love that placemat!

Since I work at a gym, I am forcing myself to go run outside this morning before heading to work, because when 5:00 PM hits, it’s going to be a ZOO! It is that time of year and you can’t do anything about crazy gyms right now. HA! Have a wonderful day! 🙂
Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter says
I’m not excited for all the NY resolutioners in the gym. I really SHOULD feel happy for them that they have decided to do something about their health. But the wait for the equipment is just ridiculous sometimes.
Jenn @ LiveWellFitNow says
The gym is going to be PACKED this month! Love seeing everyone so motivated. 🙂
Getting myself some greek yogurt today as well- somehow that is the best thing for me when my stomach is DONE with heavy, sweet, out of ordinary food.

I have two-sided feelings about the crowded gym at the first of the year. For the people like me who workout all year long it is annoying to have so many people around using machines, etc. But for my husband, who is a fitness trainer, these next 4 months will be his highest grossing months all year long. SO I try to remember that all these people just mean more money for us! It helps…a little.

The placemat is so cute! Speaking of which, I should get new placemats. Mine are boring. 🙂
Breakfast looks yummy!

It’s no wonder I’m having a hard time getting motivated today!

I always find that our campus’s gym is wayyyyy more packed right after New Year’s…and then it gets less crowded each week. When I can’t get on a machine right away, sometimes I’m thinking, “hey, where were you in September when I was working hard here? huh?!” 🙂
Kacy says
My body pump was super packed yesterday too. I felt like I was squatting into the person behind me’s lap. Awkward. Still nice to have all the people around doing good things for their health tho 🙂

I hear ya about the work blues. The Monday after the massive holiday season is always so blah. We don’t have anything to look forward to for a long, long time.
Allison @ Happy Tales says
I know just how you feel with post-holiday blues. I say it EVERY year — I love love love the holiday season… and to me that begins Halloween day and goes through Jan 1. Heck, I even jam to Christmas tunes if they randomly come on my ipod… any time of year. Keeps me excited for what’s to come. I think another thing that makes it hard is that there aren’t as many days off/holidays in the first few months of the year, and I know me and my bf like to save up our vacation days for later in the year so we. Also, Easter tends to hops around (no pun intended!) so you can never count on it to be in a certain month.

Kicking it up a notch is always a good thing. 🙂 I need to do the same!

That’s one of the reasons I hate this time of year, the gym is PACKED. I like it that people want to be healthier, but I (somewhat secretly) love it when the gym thins back out.
Heather says
Have you ever checked out the Tone It Up website/blog and YouTube page? They have some awesome workouts!
Rachel @ The Avid Appetite says
I tried wheat germ in muffins once, but haven’t had it since. You just inspired me to get on that!
Courtney @ Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life says
I’m with ya on so many levels here! The back to work blues for sure, but definitely feeling the need to kick it up a notch with the workouts. Unfortunately, my motivation is still lagging a bit…but I’m gettin’ there! 🙂
