Seaweed Snacks

March 22, 2011 by Julie 71 Comments

When I got off work this evening, a super-fun activity awaited me.

Laundry! Please note that nearly all of my laundry consists of gym shorts, sports bras and workout tops. I mean who needs to wash work clothes? Winking smile

I’ve been making a bigger effort to do small loads of laundry more often rather than save a ton of it to do once a month. So far it’s working quite well!

As I folded laundry, I snacked on one of my latest favorite foodie finds.

Annie Chun’s seaweed snacks. I first tried these when I found them in my parents’ pantry back in January. Ever since then, I’ve been obsessed!

I know these snacks likely gross a bunch of you out, but if you like sushi, you should give them a try!

Sadie loves ‘em.

I love watching her eat them because they get stuck on the roof of her mouth and she maneuvers her tongue in the most awkward way to get them off. Muhaha!

Dinner

I think the seaweed snacks triggered a craving for Asian fare, because when I headed into the kitchen to make dinner after a quick walk with Ryan and Sadie, an Asian sesame shrimp salad sounded perfect.

I made his and hers entrée salads that included:

  • Romaine lettuce
  • Cucumber
  • Red pepper
  • Sugar snap peas
  • Shrimp
  • Kraft Asian sesame dressing

One the side Ryan and I each enjoyed half of a honey wheat sandwich thin topped with peanut butter, banana slices, honey and pumpkin pie spice.

Bueno!

Time to prep tomorrow’s lunch.

See ya bright and early in the morning!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I LOVE those things! I like the wasabi flavor too, though they are HOT! I always laugh at my laundry, too. It’s all lulu – you’d think I worked for them. Or worked in the fitness industry…nope, I just really like to exercise!

I’m glad to learn someone else’s laundry basically consists of workout gear. That’s always my cue to do a load of laundry: i.e. “whoops, I’m out of running shirts/sports bras/clean socks.” hehe. I mean…I do wash my school/work/dress clothes…sometimes… 🙂

You dinner looks SO good! Asian Sesame Dressing sounds tasty. I’m going to have to pick that up at the store. I bet it would make a great marinade for chicken or stir fry! 🙂

I used to feed very similar looking seaweed treats to my puffer fish… I always had an urge to try them, but held back. Looks like I can finally indulge in fish food now!

I usually buy seaweed from the asian import store, but now they carry the stuff in the local grocery. I buy the ones that come in BIG sheets, like almost the size of computer paper.

SO GOOD. I cut them into squares and dip them in soy sauce then wrap them around rice. or just eat them plain! My dog loves them too and it is hilarious to watch it get stuck to the roof of his mouth!

i am OBSESSED with seaweed snacks. And the fact that there’s only two servings per container makes them last… oh, about a few hours, maybe a day or two… haha

    Have a great day,

Your colorful sports bras make me feel like the most boring girl ever.

And usually I agree with your food choices but YUCK to the seaweed. I got a bunch of free packages and tossed them.
