After having such a great time at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter earlier today, Ryan and I left Universal feeling surprisingly energetic. I think the fact that the weather was absolutely gorgeous and not too hot contributed to this immensely.
On our drive home, we decided to stop by Festival Bay mall in Orlando (the most deserted mall in the world) to do some shopping. Since there are like two stores in the entire mall, we weren’t there for more than an hour.
Ryan did his shopping…
And I did mine…
Typical boy, typical girl.
I was quite excited to pop into my store! This is honestly the best BGBC store I’ve ever been to because it’s technically a “Last Call” store that sells BCBG clothes for ridiculously low prices. (For example, I got the pink dress you may see in this post for $40 and it was originally more than $250. <—Crazy, I know.)
Of course Ryan was done shopping before I was and patiently waited for me to try on dress after dress while playing Angry Birds on his phone.
I really liked the above maxi dress a lot, but it was just ill-fitting. It bulged a bit in the back and didn’t fit quite right in the chest.
I ended up leaving the store with a silky blue jacket/top, a scarf and a gold and turquoise ring. I’m sure you’ll see them all on the Fashion page soon! (Speaking of the Fashion page, I updated it this afternoon.)
To get back to our car, we passed through Outdoor World and I enjoyed some free samples, including cinnamon roasted almonds that were fantastic. In the snack section of the shop, I also stumbled upon this…
I gagged and kept on walking. I won’t make the mistake of eating those death sticks again! Such a shame to waste such a wonderful name on candy that tastes like arm pit.
Dinner
Eventually we made it home and I grabbed a snack, blogged and hung out around the house with Sadie and Ryan before starting on dinner.
We had leftover buffalo chicken sandwiches with melted muenster cheese that Ryan made last night.
I roasted some kale to enjoy alongside the sandwiches for some greens!
It was a good one!
I’m off to watch Harry Potter (and try to convince Ryan not to watch the Bulls game) and take it easy for the rest of the night. I think our day at Universal is catching up to us because Ryan and I are both feeling l-a-z-y tonight!

Haha, I remember when you first posted those nutfingers – dang their nastiness anyway! Enjoy your night, Julie!
peanutbutterfingers says
i know! how can something with such a fantastic name taste so awful?
Holly @ The Runny Egg says
Those nutfingers look pretty nasty — I agree that the name is misleading, sounds like a good treat (but they kind of look like dog crap, no?)
peanutbutterfingers says
…and they taste like it, too. 😉
Elizabeth Cheek says
Ok pretty girl–how do you roast your kale?? I have tried twice and failed! Thanks from Arkansas!!!
peanutbutterfingers says
Toss it in olive oil and garlic and roast at 350 for 15-20 min!
Heidi says
haha I like that you see Ryan in the mirror reflection! Well it looks like him at least… Thank goodness for phone apps!
Abby says
That’s awesome that you found such great deals at BCBG!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Wow, nutfingers sound… interesting? 😛 I’m glad you still managed to find a few goodies on your shopping trip!
Chelsea J says
Nutfingers….maybe you should try and make some to show them up! When I lived in Williamsburg, VA we had a BCBG outlet and it was awesome! Also the maxi looks good on you, but you always look so good in short dresses! Glad you had a great Saturday.
Heather (Heather's dish) says
I hate when dressed fit well in the front and the back is just a mess! No fun…still looks beautiful on you though!
Tammy says
Haha I love how Ryan’s in your BCBG picture too 🙂 and your napkin ring is super cute!
..I notice random things haha have a great night!
Jenny @ Fitness Health and Food says
how could they waste precious peanut butter like that?? 😛
Megan@Dirty Dishes Daily says
That sounds like a great way to spend a sunny day.
Carrie says
EW what a waste of a cute food name!!

Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
Haha, I watched Harry Potter the day I got back from Orlando. That theme park really made me feel like a little kid again!!
Bethany RN says
My hubby LOVES Outdoor World. We stop their any time we are in the Orlando area =) Dinner looks good! I will have to try those chicken sandwiches. The trick is finding something healthy that the hubby will enjoy and feel “full” on. Have a good weekend!
Gen says
Sounds like a fun day!!!!!!! 😀
Hope you have an awesome rest of the weekend!
The Teenage Taste says
I love Bass Pro Shops! It’s such a cool store to look around in since it has all the water features and stuffed animals. Sorry to hear that those nuttifingers were gross – the name sounds like a winner! 😕
Have a great day, Julie!

Jamie aka "Sometimes Healthy Girl" says
That buffalo chicken always looks sooo amazing! Such a simple recipe. Even I could do it! 😉
Chelsa says
I’m so jealous of your weather. I was just in Miami a few weeks ago and I’m longing for the New England spring to make it’s presence 🙁
Lynn (The Cream Filling) says
It is too bad about that PB candy. It does sound yummy!
I am looking forward to seeing the clothes you bought from BCBG. I love your fashion posts!
Paula @ Eat: Watch: Run says
I love Festival Bay. I just never get around to going there. That mall *could* be so awesome.
I just want to say, you know you read someone’s blog too much when you have a dream about the blogger and her husband when you’ve never even met them. Yeah. That happened last night. Sadie did not make an appearance but a random cat did and your apartment was 3 stories and attached to a huge field and bike-shop store that Ryan ran.
Now I’m your creepy reader, but I’m ok with that. 😉
natalie says
What a let down with the nutfingers. Boo.
We had a lazy night also – there’s something to be said about lounging around in yoga pants and your husband’s sweatshirt, hehe!
Amber K says
I keep reading not to ever trust those price tags that claim that an item used to be X amount of $$. They up the original price to make you think you’re getting a bigger deal to convince you to buy something you’re only on the fence about.
Unless I’m majorly in love with it, I don’t care what the price is! Like the dress, yes it’s cute, but you’re right, not the best fit. I’m sure what you did pick is much cuter!
Allison @ Happy Tales says
I agree with you!!! Sometimes sales give the mentality that you’re saving so much money… but if you wouldn’t buy it if it’s not on sale… then you’re actually shelling out money for something you wouldn’t normally buy! But regardless, it’s always fun to look (and of course buy when you actually do find that amazing piece you can’t live without!)
Erin says
Oh my goodness I love BCBG I wish I had any store located near me, let a lone one with discounted prices! I tend to just look for the stuff on sale at Macy’s or on ebay haha
Annette @ EnjoyYourHealthyLife says
I love BCBG too–great steals sometimes 🙂 And your day sounds totally fab-you deserve to be lazy
Alexandrina @ The Cardio Queen says
Hahaha. So glad I didn’t get those! Saw these when the boyfriend and I went to Bass Pro Shop. We ended up getting some ice cream. 🙂
