Healthy Living Summit bloggers are taking over Philadelphia!
Okay, not really, but there are nearly 230 bloggers and blog readers hittin’ up the city of brotherly love and that’s a whole lotta people!
The morning started with breakfast and some chit chatting at the Starbucks in the hotel lobby. It was actually a great place to set up camp because a lot of the Healthy Living Summit attendees seemed to flock there and I got to meet some new people.
After breakfast, I met up with my fellow panelists to go over our presentation about negativity in the blog world for tomorrow. I think talking it through almost made me more nervous. I hope it goes well!
I feel like we have a lot of great things to talk about and I’m hoping the attendees find our session both informative and interesting. Fingers crossed! There is actually another panel going on at the same time as ours, so I’m just going to pretend that only five people will show up to our talk to ease my nerves a bit.
After our group meeting, we met up in the lobby with a billion other bloggers for lunch.
Lunch
Lunch took place at Pumpkin Market, a quaint little sandwich shop located about 10 minutes from our hotel.
I loved the inside of Pumpkin Market. It was full of warm colors and the shelves were stocked with fresh produce, various kinds of juice and cold water.
I made sure to grab a sparkling lemon water to enjoy while we waited for our meals to be prepared.
I am such a fan of sparkling water. Something about the effervescent little bubbles makes me happy!
I think our big group of bloggers overwhelmed the small sandwich shop, but they did a great job of accommodating all of us.
For my meal, I opted for a mozzarella panini that came with bean salad and a pickle.
I really, really enjoyed my meal. Everything tasted perfectly fresh and I could tell the sandwich and bean salad were made with quality ingredients. Gotta love that!
I ate lunch beside some bloggers I’ve never met before! Kath, Kelly and Heather were lovely dining buddies.
After walking back to our hotel, it was time to head to the Healthy Living Summit registration tables to officially check in and grab our name tags.
Recognize that name?
We were also given a t-shirt and swag bag full of food-related goodies.
I can’t wait to eat it all… and I’ll have to do that before I fly out on Sunday because there’s no way I have room for all that biznass in my carryon!
Time to showah! I am so gross and sweaty from walking around the city today and want to make sure I’m not the stanky girl at tonight’s cocktail party.
Hope you guys have a great Friday night!
Sounds like you are all having so much fun! Can’t wait to see pictures from the cocktail party… is it difficult to try and recognize names and faces from blogs? I feel like it would be a little overwhelming…
Yes! Very!
Good point! That has GOT to be tricky!!!!!!
Cant wait to see pics! Have fun 🙂
I’m with ya on the sparkling water. I’ve been loving it lately! Good luck with your presentation tomorrow! I’m sure you’ll do fabulous!
You guys are making Philly look like the coolest place on Earth! Looks like everyone’s having a great time. Enjoy!
YAY! ….Looks like you met some awesome bloggers! 🙂 ….Yah, no one wants to be the stinky girl at a cocktail party!!! HA!
Have fun!!! 🙂
Sounds like a great time!! That sandwich is making me hungry….and I don’t even really love cheese! hahaha
Not a fan of the sparkling water (it has a funny taste?) but that panini looks so good.
This sounds like a fun day!!
What a fun day, and that sandwich looks delish! My kinda meal 😉 Have fun tonight! 🙂
So glad I got to know you at lunch, and at starbucks. You are super sweet!
Right back at ya!!
Looks like everyone’s having a ton of fun in Philly! I can’t wait to join you guys at the next HLS!
Soooo jealous! I am definitely going next year!
If you liked the café you will love the restaurant. It’s closer to Ritten House Square but worth the walk. They have the best gazpacho and steak so tender you can cut it with a butter knife.
This looks like such a fun experience! I hope you make the most of it. The photos are making me crave mozzarella! Have a terrific weekend!
Missing you all! 🙂
I saw the actual dumped out bag on another blog. Holy loot! Mail it back home. That’s what I do when I travel with a carry-on. I always allow myself to buy whatever I want and then just hit up the post office or UPS on my way to the airport.
jealous! wish i was there & could meet you and all the other wonderful bloggers! next year maybe.
If you’re into sparkling water, I highly recommend investing in a Soda Stream. It’s the best purchase I’ve made in years!
Good luck on your presentation tomorrow, you will do great!
I hope you have someone designated to take a video of your presentation! I gotta see you in action on stage!! 🙂 Good luck- I know you’ll knock em dead! (in a very figurative way…lol)
So much fun! This is kind of random, but I have been meaning to tell you, I love your writing style! I love how you use so many descriptive adjectives. Haha that sounds so nerdy, but seriously… it’s refreshing! 🙂
I feel like any place with “pumpkin” in its name HAS to be yummy! That sandwich looks so thick and toasty.. yum! Enjoy the evening!
mmmm that meal looks fantastic!
Enjoy the evening tonight 🙂
Have a blast!
ooooohhh!! I must be going through some kind of strange tomato phase because my midnight snack last night was a WHOLE tomato with some Italian dressing ..and that panini..OHHH, THAT PANINI!! it looks the BOMB[DOT]COM! mmmm 🙂 must. recreate.
That sandwich shop looks adorable!! You’ll do awesome tomorrow! Good luck!!
Why is water so much better with bubbles?! Bubbles are kinda like rainbow sprinkles….they make everything taste better! Have fun!
I read your blog and Kath Eats Real Food. It was so funny to read her post about today then surf over to your blog and see you ate at the same place and even sat next to each other. I swear you even had the same pic of Pumpkin’s on each post 🙂
That sandwich and bean salad look delicious! I need to find good places like that around here!
Looks like such a fun time! I really need to go to one of these. Maybe next year. Can’t wait to hear how your presentation goes. I’m sure you’ll do great. 🙂
You all seem to be having such a great time so far! I love seeing posts from all you different bloggers that are there. I almost feel like I’m there! 🙂
I’ve never been to a blogger conference so I am eating your posts up! Glad you guys are having so much fun 🙂
so jealous of your swag bag! let me know if you need help eating any of your goodies!! 🙂
No need for nerves, my friend, you are going to ROCK your presentation. Why? Because you know your topic and you are among 200+ people who want to hear you talk about it.
Break a leg! Um, no, not literally. It’s a dance/theatre thing — bad luck to say “g*** l***”. See, I can’t even say it.
🙂
Oooh that sandwich looks like an even more delicious version of a mozzarella and tomato panini I had for lunch today at Panera. I like how they loaded yours up with the good stuff…lots of cheese! Good luck on your presentation!
Welcome to Philly (my city)! 🙂
Farmicia is a great restaurant, and I’m so glad you reviewed Pumpkin. I’ve been wanting to go there awhile, and your sandwich looked so good that I’ll definitely be checking it out soon.
Enjoy the rest of your trip and if you have a chance, definitely try either a Steven Starr or a Jose Garces restaurant. They are the two biggest restauranteurs in the city…my favorites are Starr’s El Vez (Mexican–guacamole and frozen blood orange margaritas are to die for- located in Center City on S. 13th St.) and Garces’ Amada (Andalucian tapas – located in Old City).
if you are loving the sparkling water, you need to invest in a soda stream– a little machine for your kitchen that carbonates water right there for you! my fiance got me one for christmas and we are hooked!
I have one! Love it!
I adore paninis. So fun. THANKS for blogging from the HLS. Totally living vicariously through you right about now! 🙂
I’m enjoying reading all the recaps so I can only imagine what fun you all are having! Hope we will be getting a glimpse into your presentation! GOOD LUCK!
Yum that panini looks great! I used to go to a restaurant in my college town that had an awesome mozzarella and tomato panini with balsamic vinegar. Now I’m craving it!
Ah I wish I were there! I’m always jealous when I see other bloggers at these awesome get-togethers.
Loved your Philadelphia blog related posts! It seems you hit all my favorites during your trip- Pumpkin Market/Cafe is in my neighborhood and I visit it all the time- even better is their BYO restaurant down the street- menu changes daily based on what the chef likes- I would highly recomend it!
Please note: One of my VERY BEST BFF’S, does cry easily. The utensil to be utilized to harmony the knife on must also be selected with arrive intelligence, as a improper placement angle of the food merchandise, will give unequal and imperfect cuts and comparatively odd sized pieces. completely immerse your hands in the bowl of water (doing this will prevent the sticky rice from sticking to your hands; it will however leave a slimy texture behind).
” Despite what your mother always told you, in the case of sushi, it actually is preferred that you play with your food. Luckily, the north end in Boston has yet to let me down. Mention the date as well and how its a good time if you have the sleepover around 7 is or 8ish so you have time to finish your homework, so that would be out of the way.
