The smoothie I initially had planned for breakfast popped up around lunchtime!
In today’s smoothie bowl:
- 1 c. almond milk
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey)
- 1 c. frozen strawberries
- 1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. xanthan gum
- 1 handful fresh spinach
In case you want to cram in all the smoothies you can in the next month or so before the cooler weather sets in, here are some of my favorite smoothie recipes:
- Banana Mocha Protein Shake
- Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Smoothie Bowl
- Extra Chocolaty Smoothie Bowl
- “Ice Cream” Smoothie
- Mocha Green Monster
- Peanut Butter Cup Smoothie
- Piña Colada Protein Smoothie
- Pumpkin Pie Protein Smoothie
- Strawberry Banana Smoothie
- Thin Mint Green Monster
I also had a microwavable quesadilla on the side of my smoothie bowl.
This fast lunch served as good fuel for some puppy playtime in the backyard.
Isn’t my coworker such a cutie?
And speaking of coworkers, I thought this might be a fun little topic…
Office Romances!
Have you ever had a crush on a coworker or dated someone you worked with?
My high school boyfriend and I were lifeguards together, but he got the job after I already worked there, so our relationship didn’t originate in the work place.
I love watching office romances blossom (is that creepy?) and quite a few office romances popped up around me at my last workplace.
I remember asking Ryan to weigh in on one relationship I was convinced was forming at an office Movember party we attended. (<—Whoa! Throwback post!) Ryan said he definitely thought there was something between the couple I pointed out. A few weeks later, I saw them kissing in the parking garage! Caught!
Question of the Afternoon
- Have you ever discovered an office romance between two coworkers?
- Have you ever had your own office romance?

I’m obsessed with smoothies! Thanks for the lineup 🙂 I teach at a high school and another English teacher and the dance teacher started dating, but tried to keep it a secret from the students. They totally caught on and teased them all year 🙂

I haven’t ever experienced an office romance but in high school there was a girl a year older than me that was hooking up with my P.E. teacher who was only about 5 years older than her, fresh out of college! I remember the day that it became public, it seriously felt like a movie. We were at lunch and EVERYONE was whispering and I actually saw the girl at her lunch table tearing up with fear. The teacher was immediately sent home and lost his job! It was crazy!! But awesome drama for the high school years!! 🙂

I am totally in love with our Fed Ex Ground guy at my office. Normally I’m super confident around guys, but around him I’m a socially awkward mess! All of my coworkers laugh at me. I swear he is either blissfully unaware of my awkwardness or he finds it charming. Let’s hope its the latter!

haha, guilty as charged. In lots of field work you have to live with your coworkers so when i lived in the prairies of Central FL in 2009 I ended up dating one of my coworkers while we lived together, and it was awkward because another one of the technicians had a crush on me too. weird…then we all moved away and voila, no more awkwardness.

My Fiance and I actually worked together before dating, that is how we met. We are both Vet Techs, and I was offered a job at his parents Vet Clinic. I took the job, we just clicked, and within 2 months we started dating. That was 2 1/2 years ago!

I met my husband at work; we are both teachers and he had been teaching at this particular school for 3 years. He asked me to attend a group outing, and then inquired about whether or not I had been to a particular bar. I told him I hadn’t, so he invited me and the rest is history =)

I met my husband at work! There was obvious chemistry from day one, but we were both in relationships, so nothing past talking ever happened. About 6 years ago, I got engaged to my then boyfriend, at the same time he and his girlfriend were breaking up. A few months later, I guess he decided enough was enough, he asked me out for a drink after work. I still can’t believe i accepted!! It was that night he told me he would spend his life making me happier than anyone ever has…5 years later we were married! I love hearing about office romances because it brings me right back!! : )

My hubby and I met in the Navy – while sailing on the same ship… He was my boss. How’s that for “close quarter” office scandal! Ha

The summer before my sophomore year of college, I worked at a summer camp. I ended up meeting (and flirting with…) another counselor, and we eventually dated throughout the summer. It turned out that he only wanted a summer fling, because come the first week of school, he dumped me in a text message. Classy. Thank goodness we learn from those experiences :).

The head boss was just busted having an affair with an employee. Both are/were married. Funny thing, when we got word that he was accused of inapropriate behavior no one was suprised when it turned out to be an affair. He has been suspected of doing just that with other women. What shocked me the most was the one he was caught with. Yet I don’t think people realized the secretary’s knew more then they wanted us to know. At first I thought rumors were just that rumors. But I witnessed my own suspicious moments. So what we know is the recent affair was likely not the first or the second.

Funny you wrote this today because my boyfriend and I work for the same company (but in completely separate departments) and tomorrow is our 1 year anniversary of dating! We met through a work event (he checked me in to a conference) and have been together since! It’s quite convenient because we can chat during work and can have “work lunch dates,” but we’re able to leave work behind when we leave. It’s a big company though, so half of my friends date people from our company and there are tons of inter-office marriages/relationships.

Not only did my husband and I meet at work (and still work together, we’re both military), my parents met as camp counselors together and my grandparents met while teaching college! three generations of office romance and no divorce 🙂

I used to have a massive crush on my boss when I worked part-time in a restaurant to fund college and university. Towards the end of my 4 years there we started dating and even though we kept it a secret our colleagues found out and made it super awkward. But now we’re married so it all worked out in the end 🙂

I met my boyfriend at work! We’ve been dating for 2 years, living together for a little over year, and having an absolutely wonderful time in each other’s company. Although it took a few months, the people at work have gotten over their awkwardness factor with the thought of us being a pair 😉

My husband and I met at work 13 years ago – we actually shared a cubicle! No one knew we were dating so we would lilterally be sitting next to each other but emailing to make plans for that night! Eventually the cat got out of the bag but we kept it secret for several months. We had a couple breakups – which made work difficult – but we ended up together and are now married with a son 🙂

That’s so funny that you like to watch office romances blossom…creeper! Just kidding; I would totally do the same thing.

I met my boyfriend in January of 2007 at the YMCA I worked for… He was my site coordinator! We had to keep it under raps for a few months (I was away at college so I only saw him on the weekends, and would only work during breaks), but when my boss found out she put us together for summer camp! It was both awesome and hard for us but we made it! He’s no longer my boss, but still my amazing boyfriend 🙂

My husband and I met at work several years ago…. I was actually his boss. We tried to keep it a secret from our co-workers but people knew. Eventually he moved on to another job. We have been married almost 2 years and everyone from the office where we first met attended our wedding.

My boy-friend and I work together 🙂 We started dating prior to me getting the job though so it wasn’t like we met at the work place. Been at the same job and still together three years later though so I guess it’s a good thing 😉

My husband and I met at work; I was giving a presentation and he was sitting in. He came and talked to me after class and we became friends really fast. We worked on different floors but every time we saw each other in the elevators, we wouldn’t say anything if others were in there, too, but we’d have the hugest, dopiest smiles on our faces. Every time he came to visit my cube, I’d get an e-mail from one of my co-workers after he left, teasing me because they could hear me giggling the whole time. 🙂 To this day, he makes me laugh more than anyone I’ve ever met. 🙂

I know this post was yesterday but I am blog catching up from work! I love this post because I just started working at a new facility 2 weeks ago and one of the guys and I have REALLY hit it off… funniest part about it is the first day of our monday meetings we had to read the handbook. Drew, the guy I like had to read aloud this one part that talked about no dating with other co-workers. Not that we have been secretly talking and hanging out, we get a kick out of him of all people having to read that part of the rules aloud and us already realizing the first day that we were going to be into each other. ha

I have never had or seen office romances, but then I’ve only worked at a couple of places and at the last one was all girls!

My fiance and I are the result of an office romance 😛 We both worked at a retail store- I worked there over the summer and during holiday breaks since I was still in college. It may not have been the best setting, but it’s the best result- I’ve found the love of my life!

I met my now fiance at work! We both took a year off before grad school and interned at a place that is most people’s last career spot. So, needless to say, we were the only two young people in the office. To make it even worse, I unknowingly sexually harassed the previous intern at a bar one Saturday night. On Wednesday I learned a young guy named Seth worked at our office. On Saturday I accidentally did the “coach butt slap” to a stranger in a bar and after the stranger walked away someone in my group said “that’s Seth!” I thought I was permanently mortified, but John was too cute to keep me away. So, I pretended to play tennis to spend time with him, the whole office found out, our boss, who receives personal phone calls from US presidents, teased us mercilessly, and hear we are 3.5 years later! We just moved to a new city to start our careers and plan our wedding!

Office romances and divorces happen all the time where I work. It’s sad but very true. It’s just that the ratio of men to women is like 10:1.
It’s easy to get a crush when you work with so many men but I’ve never acted on it.
That smoothie sounds delicious!!!
