We Bought a Bed!

September 27, 2011 by Julie 63 Comments

Last night I stumbled upon a bed that I absolutely loved.

king bed

I thought it looked classy, gender-neutral and could be the focal point of a bedroom that is either vintage, comfy and casual (the look I’m after right now) or made to look more adult and fancy (a look I may want in the future… maybe).

Ryan and I talked about the bed last night and he said he liked it a lot. We’ve looked at handful of beds throughout the past few weeks, but this one had a look we both really liked from the get-go.

Before committing to buying the bed, we slept on the decision and then around noon today it was time. I emailed Ryan saying I couldn’t stop thinking about the bed and he replied with a simple, “I’m in if you are!”

Now we just need a mattress and we’ll be all set. Oh and some dressers for the room would probably be a good idea. And sheets.

Lunch

I had a phone call earlier today where I was interviewed all about peanut butter and my favorite ways to enjoy the delicious nut butter. (Yeah, I could’ve kept talking for hours.)

A peanut butter craving was sparked early on in the day and I knew my lunch had to incorporate it somehow.

peanut butter and banana sandwich 003

PB & B sandwich topped with pumpkin pie spice, served with a side of carrot sticks and hummus.

peanut butter and banana sandwich 005

A great lunch for kids and adults alike.

OH MY FRIGGIN WORD- that bed is so stinkin’ cutinski. Like seriously. Me want. Now. Where ON EARTH did you find it??? I want to have it for my future bedroom, in my future house, for me and my future husband ( whom i have not met as of now, but hey i’m only 15). Or i can have it for me as a future bachelorette. I pick the first option…totally. Oh, and when you said you “slept on it” i thought you meant you slept on that bad… hehe, my bad. i stared at the screen for 5 minutes before it got through my thick head (moment of self-deprecation) . Oh heck. Anyway, go for the sleep number bed! So you can try it out and tell me how it is of course. And if that isn’t good, Temur-pedic or Simmons or maybe… yeah, i’ll shut up.

That bed looks so comfy! When Josh and I stayed at the bed and breakfast this weekend it had a headboard that looked so pretty but was the most uncomfortable thing to lean back on. It definitely made me realize that I want a solid, flat headboard when I go bed shopping! Score finding one that does all that and is cute too!

So glad you didn’t go with the wrought iron bed. The lack of headboard is so uncomfortable. You need at least 4 pillows to put behind you to sit up and read.

The bed is beautiful and looks so cosy. It will be great to snuggle up and read in it with your winter on the way. I’m going into summer so no more snuggling for me 🙁

Hey there, just wanted you to know that we bought this exact bed from overstock, it says you don’t need a boxspring, but you do! Not a full one, but they have these half box spring platforms, and that’s what we got. I think a full box spring may be too tall, but without one at all it would be really low to the ground. You can look at my bedroom on ” a well dressed home” blog under masterbedroom makeover! Hope that helps ..ps: love sadie’s commentaries 🙂
