As Ryan, my father-in-law and I headed to our separate closets to find something to wear for dinner last night, we laughed pretty hard when we all emerged in white shirts and jeans.
Triplets!
Our matchy-matchy trio headed out to dinner at La Cuisine, a local French restaurant.
Ryan’s dad selected the restaurant, saying he wanted to take us somewhere nice to celebrate our upcoming one-year wedding anniversary. How nice!
Once we were seated, we began our meal with a round of drinks (Riesling for me!), enjoyed with crusty French bread and butter.
When it came time to order our entrees, I was torn between the duck and the eggplant lasagna. Fortunately Ryan had his eye on the lasagna, so I opted for the duck and got to try a bit of both!
This meal was hands down the best meal I’ve had in Ocala to date.
The duck was served with cornbread stuffing (<—the real reason I ordered it) and a cranberry glaze. It reminded me of gourmet Thanksgiving on a plate.
The stuffing was unreal. I couldn’t get enough!
The duck was cooked perfectly (I like pink!) and seasoned with the most delicious combination of spices. I ate nearly everything on my place except for the bites that were pure fat which I had wrapped up for Sadie.
We talked about ordering dessert at the restaurant, but decided to keep it classy and hit up a classic French ice cream shop on our way home.
Ah yes, Dairy Queen!
I ordered a pumpkin pie blizzard (my first one ever!) and the flavor was spot-on.
Once we finished our ice cream, we headed home to see Sadie and feed her my leftover French fat.
I swear she would’ve done anything for that fat!
Now I’m waiting for everyone to wake up this morning. We have a very festive activity on the agenda for today and I can’t wait!
That is seriously the funniest thing ever – reminds me of familiy portrait day. Glad you enjoyed your night out! My Charlie will do anything for apple slices!
too bad we weren’t wearing khakis and could find a nearby beach with the sun setting… 🙂
Haha I love that you all are matching! Don’t you love how that randomly seems to happen sometimes…and it’s usually when you’re going somewhere! Oh how I miss DQ…I think I may have to get one that pumpkin pie blizzard when I go home for thanksgiving. I’ve never had one but that sounds amazing! Hope you have an awesome day Julie 🙂
Haha way to end a fancy dinner with some DQ! I certainly wouldn’t complain
What a fun dinner! Love it!
Yum! That stuffing looks amazing 🙂
I like when you randomly dress the same as people you’re with. It’s happened with my boss so many times, and with my boyfriend as well. You guys are just on the same wavelength!
I bet Sadie was the happiest dog in the world with that treat. That’s a good way to use up the whole meal!
Ahh! so jealous of the pumpkin blizzard! I hate that DQ’s are so hard to find in Orlando…I think the closest one to us is like 20 minutes away..boo!
Hope you guys enjoy your day 🙂
Those pumpkin pie blizzards are really perfect! They should sell them all year. 🙂
That blizzard looks amazing! I can’t remember the last time I had one…or even saw a DQ. Publix has a pretty awesome Pumpkin Pie ice cream though!
Oh my goodness, that is too funny! Love your shirt, Julie!
I <3 blizzards! I didn't realize the pumpkin pie flavor was back!
I tried the pumpkin pie blizzard on Friday night and loved it…I love anything pumpkin though :).
I have a BOGO free coupon for a DQ blizzard. I am so excited to have the pumpkin pie blizzard! I tried one last year and it was amazing. Take care!
~Kari
I went to a DQ for the first time on Tuesday and got the pumpkin pie blizzard too! I actually made them throw in Oreos. so good!
Dinner looks delicious. And there is nothing like a Blizzard for dessert. Although I would have had to go for Peanut Butter Cup or Heath Bar!
The Kidless Kronicles
Ohh that blizzard looks so good- I bet a mix of pumpkin pie and peanut butter cup blizzard would taste even more fantastic!
I have been dying to get a pumpkin pie Blizzard from Dairy Queen! And now your post has just confirmed my need for that Blizzard! I shall be getting one this week! 😉
you are going to a corn maze? That sounds like so much fun!
Mmm I love French food. Everything looks wonderful!
Too funny! I loved that you all stayed in your outfits too. I think my family would’ve freaked out and everyone would’ve changed. I’ve never had duck before, but you’ve inspired me to try it some time. Your pumpkin blizzard sounds right up my alley! I need to go get one asap!
i really enjoy duck! (though I don’t eat it often) but it’s so good! Happy (almost) 1 year wedding anniversary!
Hahaha, you all look so precious.
I always take the scraps home for my mutt, too! Sometimes I feel silly wrapping it up to go, but it makes her sooo happy.
Would you say that Sadie might have drank the fat?!
*friends reference!*
LOVE it. 🙂
That meal looks great. I would have loved it too!
I’ve never tried duck! Is it like chicken?!!
i like it a lot more than chicken. it reminds me a bit of dark meat chicken, but more flavorful.
Haha that’s so cute!! I have never tried the DQ pumpkin pie blizzard but it sounds so yumm!
The all white outfits is hilarious but you all look great together, so who cares?!
That stuffing looks awesome, and I totally order things just for the side they come with!
That is so cute that all three of you matched! I love it. 🙂 Dinner looked delicious. I am a big fan of blizzards. I haven’t had one in a really long time. That pumpkin one sounds amazing though!
I have been wanting a pumpkin pie blizzard since I got an e-mail about them (I am a member of the blizzard of the month club!) Seriously….they are my favorite 🙂
I love that you can see how Sadie’s tail was wagging while she’s sitting waiting for that fat by the blurriness in the picture. Sometimes I think their tails are going to fall off they wag so hard when food is involved.
I really really love that top every time I see it! I wish it was still being sold. 🙁
I LOVE that white shirt! If you don’t mind me asking, where’s it from? I love shirts cut slightly off the shoulders!
Number one: Dinner looks awesome.
Number two: I love Sadie
Number three: Triplets…too funny!
And last but not least…
Number four: Did I miss the book club pick? The book club gives me an excuse to read something for ME. Not for work, not for school, for Meeeee!!!!!!
Happy Sunday!!!
it will be announced tomorrow! you didn’t miss it!
One of my roommates and I would always end up wearing the same color. It was kind of funny, we wouldn’t see each other in the mornings before we left for school, so it wasn’t til the afternoon when we both got home that we found out we were wearing matching outfits.
Triplets!! Love it. I like matching friends when we don’t mean to- it makes the evening/event more memorable and fun! Hah 🙂
We always laugh at work because two of my trainers Tom and Melvinn always dress the same at work, but they don’t ever plan to. One day they went three days in a row wearing matching outfits from the shirts down to the shoes. Apparently on the fourth day Tom texted Melvinn that he was wearing a green shirt that day so they WOULDN’T match for a 4th day. What shirt was Melvinn ironing? Oh a green shirt of course. We were all hysterically laughing 🙂
That duck is making my bowl of pumpkin oats look so blah. Lucky Sadie for getting some lol
That pumpkin blizzard looks fantastic – I feel if I see anything pumpkin I’m going to have it! I had a pumpkin munchkin yesterday from DD and it was out of this world.
I love the get the pumpkin pie blizzard but sub out the pie crust pieces for cheesecake. So Yummy!
riesling is my wine of choice as well 🙂 that pumpkin pie blizzard looks to die for!
mmmm that looks delicious!!!!
The matching outfits are hilarious. And the pumpkin blizzard…I can only imagine. I’ve actually never tried a blizzard (horrifying, right?), but I posted a really delicious recipe for vegan pumpkin pie ice cream this morning:

It’s so funny how sometimes matching outfits just happen! My sister and I dress alike ALL THE TIME without realizing it until we’re in the car headed somewhere.
Maybe I’m being overly cautious, but I’d be careful about feeding Sadie table scraps, particularly ones really high in fat because of the possibility of pancreatitis. Of course I’d ask your vet to confirm, but I know how much you love your dog so I thought you might like to know =)

This ALWAYS happens to me and one of my friends! Yesterday we both wore a striped, long sleeve button-down shirt (with the sleeves rolled up) and jeans. haha
I just got the pumpkin pie blizzard last night too! I loved the big pieces of pie crust!
Mmmm…a pumpkin pie blizzard sounds amazing!
And I always do that with my family, too! It cracks me up how often we end up being twinsies.
Looks like you all had a wonderful evening (:
Where did you get your cute white shirt?! I really like it a lot!
Glad you enjoyed your visit to our office today. 4/03/12
