Dinner then dessert. That’s how things normally go, right?
Well, not in this house. At least not today.
At around 5 p.m., I polished off the remaining vanilla bean ice cream leftover from our Friendsgiving party last weekend.
Pretty sweet appetizer, no?
Since it’s basically impossible for me to feel full after eating ice cream alone, I had plenty of room for dinner by the time we sat down to eat our evening meal.
Dinner included soup leftover from lunch served with a side of tortilla chips topped with melted shredded cheese that I shared with Ryan.
Tortilla chips sprinkled with cheese and melted in the microwave used to be one of my favorite sleepover snacks! I remember making them late at night with my girlfriends in high school and then they became the perfect late night drunk food in college.
Who needs Taco Bell at 2 a.m. when you can make your own microwavable nachos? (Okay, so I needed Taco Bell at 2 a.m. quite a few times in my life. Love those cinnamon twisty things.)
After dinner we took Sadie on an evening walk and were annihilated by mutant mosquitos. The bugs in Ocala look like dinosaurs compared to the bugs in Orlando. Sadie’s latest hobby is chasing the massive dragonflies.
Off to watch last night’s Modern Family episode on our DVR! Seriously love that show.
Love the appetizer and Sadie too!
Sadie is adorable! though she looks all sad in that picture and she looks a lot bigger than she usually does. Microwavable nachos are amazing…if you ever have taco sauce drizzle some of that on before you microwave. Its better than it sounds….adds a nice little kick.
sounds delicious!
and sadie was sad in that pic. she wanted the nachos. 🙂
I love homemade nachos! I make them all the time, so delicious!
I just finished off a small plate of melted cheese on chips as I type!! It is totally my weakness… once I get a craving for cheese on chips there’s pretty much no talking me out of it. Thank god for the gym so I don’t feel so guilty indulging! 🙂
Sadie is soooooo cute!
And those speedy nachos are looking yummy … Just made some w/saltines as that’s all we have on hand!
Last night’s Modern Family was hysterical!! It always makes us laugh out loud.
Once upon a time, in my not so distant past I begged my boyfriend (now husband) to take me to Taco Bell after a long night of drinking and dancing like fools. We got there ordered our tacos, and found out they were out of mild sauce. I literally had a melt down on the curb outside. Not my proudest moment. I was a die hard TB fan. Can’t stand it anymore.
last nights episode was hilarious!
I swear sadie looks more and more like a little human with each picture; too cute! I’ve always been a fan of smaller dogs (well, the only dog I’ve ever had was small) but the pictures of her and your stories/descriptions seriously make me consider getting a sadie-like dog one day!
I love the combination of nachos and cheese with lentil and cabbage soup! Microwave nachos was my go-to late night snack in college. My roommate even woke up one time to find I had left the plate of nachos, uncooked, in the fridge…guess I was saving them for later? 🙂 good memories!
Oh man, those tortilla chips are the best. I love that all the salt gets stuck down in the bowl of the chip, so good! You’re right, definitely the best late night drunky snack ever!
Dinner looks yummy! I love those chips especially with the cheese melted on them. Haha, Sadie is so cute 🙂
I used to eat tortilla chips and melted cheese as a late night drunken snack too! Anytime I eat that delicious snack, I think of sitting in my apartment devouring a plate of those while watching Friends before falling asleep or passing out might be more accurate!
I’m all about dessert before dinner! 😉 I love that saying, “Life is short, eat dessert first.”
Mm, love the Scoops! Yum.
Modern Family is hilarious- I love Ed O’Neill – he always makes me think of ‘Little Giants!’
Haha my husband and I totally nab a few extra Taco Bell packets just for our late night cheesy nacho snacks!
Pictures of Sadie just brighten up my day! What a cutiepie!
I love that you ate the soup twice in one day. That is some intense soup eating.
It’s normal to eat dessert first sometimes! I’ve done that before haha. Sadie looks sad, but still cute as ever 😀
tortilla chips and melted cheese was my go to snack in college… gotta make do when all you have is a microwave!
Nachos are fantastic! And I love using those scoops chips to make homemade nachos with ground turkey, beans, cheese, and salsa. Delicious!
Love tortilla chips with melted cheese! I used to use fritos sometimes!
that picture of Sadie is hysterical- I swear in some pictures the captions really seem as if she would actually say that comment. my dog is the same way- it is amazing how expressive they are without being able to speak!
nuked nacho chips and cheese was my favorite after school snack in high school! equal parts chips and cheese please and thank you. Ps. I love Sadies commentaries, she’s such a sassafrass 😉
My husband loves nachos—we need to do that more often!
I love dessert, but its gotta be after dinner for me, or else I will eat sugar all night long! Hah.
Love your snack- makes me nostalgic…even better when jalapenos are thrown in the mix!
Cheese melted on crackers is really good too…my grandma got me into melting Cracker Barrel sharp cheddar cheese on crackers…it’s so good!
Andddd it’s 12:55 a.m. and I am sitting here with micro-nachos (cheese and blue corn tortilla chips w/ flax) as we speak! They aren’t necessarily “post-drunk” nachos, but post graduate class/post wine night with my best friend nachos 🙂
Sadie looks SO CUTE in that picture!
Sadie is adorable!!! 😀
Those nachos sound yummy too…..makes me miss tortilla chips….
My weakness is def tortilla chips. But I never thought to just put cheese on them and melt it – haha the easiest thing in the world!
Cool ranch doritios with pepper jack cheese. Soo good!!
If you’re a fan of Doritos, you have to try melting cheese over them! It’s so, so good!
You may have just put together my two favorite foods. I aaaalways have a second stomach for ice cream and tostitos are not allowed in the house because I can make nachos out of ANYTHING. Looks osoooo good!
Microwave nachos were my fav in college!! The first time I hung out at my now husbands dorm I brought nachos and a package of chewy chips ahoy. He always says how shocked he was to see me polish off both haha.
Nachos are the best. If you ever do make a run to Taco Bell, grab some extra packets of sauce. I have a ton of sauce packets in my fridge….they make the perfect addition to nachos or quesadillas.
At least you ate dessert THEN dinner! I’ve been known to eat dessert FOR dinner! I’ve grown up a little since then though 😉
Aww! Sadie’s back!
I love microwave nachos and have not had them since I was a kid?! Who I am? Now, after reading your post, they’re all I can think of. Other than cinnamon twists from taco bell. Love those!
I really love your website.. Pleasant colors & theme.
Did you create this amazing site yourself?
Please reply back as I’m trying to create my own blog and would love to find out where you got this from or what the theme is called. Many thanks!
