Good evening!
I hope your Monday went by nice and fast. Mine certainly did thanks to playing catch-up from work that accumulated over the weekend and an afternoon committee meeting for the Taste of Ocala.
Since I knew I’d be out of the house until close to dinner time after lunch, I made sure to take Sadie on an extra-long morning walk. I used our walk as a chance to listen to my new favorite podcast, NPR’s Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me.
After putting out a call to you guys last week for podcast recommendations, I downloaded a bunch of the podcasts you guys praised and quickly fell in love with the Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me podcasts.
They are so funny and definitely hold my interest. If you enjoy witty banter and catching up on current events in a humorous way and haven’t checked out this podcast yet, I highly recommend it!
Taste of the Nation Orlando
Today’s Taste of Ocala committee meeting went really well and I’m getting excited to see everything come together in a month and a half!
And speaking of yummy food-related events, some of you may remember when I blogged about the amazing Taste of the Nation event in Orlando last summer. Tickets are on sale again and Ryan and I cannot wait to go in August!
I will actually be working with Taste of the Nation to help promote the event and if you’re an Orlando resident or will be in the area on August 25 and care to support an incredibly fun and delicious event, they have an awesome promo going on right now! Through March 30, VIP tickets are buy one, get one 50 percent off with the use of the code EBIRDORL. Tickets are not cheap, but 100 percent of ticket sales benefit Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger.
If you’re not an Orlando resident, Taste of the Nation events take place all over the U.S. in various cities and all of the events raise money to end childhood hunger. You may see if an event is coming to a city near you here.
Dinner
Dinner this evening was a good one!
Don’t knock it ‘til you try it.
Off to watch Jeopardy with Ryan!
Enjoy your night!

How cool! Taste of Ocala and Taste of the Nation – Orlando sound like great events – this past weekend was our Taste of the Beach here on the Outer Banks and it was so much fun! How can events that are all about food not be awesome, right? 🙂

I actually went to the Taste of the Nation near me last Wednesday. While it was extremely crowded (which I guess is a good thing with raising money), it was also delicious! Can’t wait to go again next year.
I just discovered Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me last week and it had me laughing the entire time. So funny!

I’m so glad you like Wait Wait! I got tickets to this Thursday’s taping for my birthday last week. You should follow Peter Sagal on twitter, he’s pretty funny. Sometimes he tweets looking for jogging partners when he travels! If he’s ever in Florida you two could go for a run.

If you like Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me you might check out tbtl which is hosted by Luke Burbank. He’s on Wait Wait fairly regularly and his podcast tbtl (too beautiful to live) is all kinds of awesomeness and randomness. So entertaining!
