My love for dippy eggs was only further solidified after today’s lunch!
I placed two dippy eggs on top of a bowl full of steamed spinach and roasted Brussels sprouts drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with garlic salt.
I loved the way the two runny yolks coated the veggies, giving them a fantastic flavor and a punch of protein.
On the side I ate a cup of Greek yogurt topped with honey and about a third of a bag of popcorn because I wanted something salty once I finished off my yogurt.
I actually snacked on the popcorn at my desk while working and now I think I need to clean my keyboard. Not the brightest move.
The Hunger Games Movie
Back in February last year, I read The Hunger Games trilogy.
The Hunger Games was recommended to me by my former coworker and book blogger, Lisa. Before looking into it, I initially thought The Hunger Games was some kind of a non-fiction book about eating based on the title alone. (Remember this was February last year, before all the hoopla started!)
I was completely hooked from the beginning and am anxiously awaiting the debut of the movie on Friday!
Today a bunch of movie reviews were published in magazines and newspapers after critics had the chance to view the movie early and, as someone who usually doesn’t pay much attention to movie reviews, I found myself reading quite a few this afternoon!
Many of the articles believe The Hunger Games movie stays true to the book. Quite a few also said that the movie far upstages Twilight. I read all of the Twilight books and am not exactly a fan of Bella, so I’m rooting for Katniss to reign supreme!
I don’t usually get super excited for movies but The Hunger Games movie is definitely an exception. Ryan and I read The Hunger Games together, so I think we’re both pumping each other up about the movie which is getting me even more amped.
I know we’re not alone out there and that many of you are fans of the books, so today’s questions are centered around The Hunger Games…
Questions of the Afternoon: Hunger Games Edition
- Are you pumped to see The Hunger Games movie this weekend?
- Do the previews make you think the movie has the potential to do the book justice?

I can’t wait to see the movie! I’ve read the series and it’s awesome to see how interested my fifth grade class has been into the series lately. I gotta say Team Gale!
I’m looking forward to seeing the movie on Friday night! I already have my ticket.
The reason why the movie is true to the book is because the author actually wrote the screenplay!
I can’t wait either. It’s about to go down!
TEAM GALE!!!!
I can’t wait! It’s my birthday Friday and I think it’s one of the best birthday presents EVER! The books had me so enraptured it took me a full day to come back to reality. Amzaingly though, I didn’t miss a bootcamp work out for it!
I am super excited to see the movie Friday night! I bought my ticket already. I was Team Gale through almost all 3 books but at the very end I had to change my mind.
I just read the first book and LOVED!!! So entertaining!! Can’t wait for the movie!!
Good lord Julie I am going to BEG you not to post a review of the movie. I can’t see it for a couple weeks due to a hectic work schedule. Which means I basically can’t read the news until mid-April.
When I first saw the book on shelves (a few years ago?) I thought the same thing! And then once I “skimmed” the back (really only read enough to find out it wasn’t about food) I put it back down. But, about a month ago my sister said it was great, so I read it and…Loved it! I can’t wait for the movie! I’m making special Hunger Games themed cupcakes!!
OK, I am completely confused why I am liking The Hunger Games so much, and why other women like it. Then again, it is pretty empowering. How much do you want to learn how to shoot a bow & arrow now?! I just wrote a blog post …

Team Peeta all the way! Haha
Midnight premier tickets to the hunger games! That’s how exciteed I am for this Thursday haha =D! I read them awhile back as well right when all the hoopla had just begun prior to them deciding to make a movie I remember. Maybe last summer?
Team neitherr haha ;D
team peeta!!!!!!
I’m anxiously awaiting too! I’ve purchased tickets for 4:30pm Friday already!!!
I can’t wait to see the movie! I loved the book and I was never into Twilight.
I’m team Gale though… that’s a feminine name and I feel he’s too “strong” for it?
I LOVE eggs! On almost anything! And I agree that runny yolks make veggies delicious. 🙂 As for Hunger Games, I’m excited for the movie, but we’ll see if they can do as good of a job as the Harry Potter movies. Those really set the standard for books–>movies for me.
I’m seeing it Thursday, since it premieres earlier on my country! Woop woop!
I am totally pumped for the movie!! I’m not sure if the movie is going to live up to the books, but i’m just glad they went with semi-unfamous actors. It makes it easier to believe the characters are real. And really, I’m on no team, if it were me, I’d go with peeta, but who knows what katniss will do (i’m only half way through the seccond book, so don’t tell me! Hah!
TEAM PEETA! I am so excited that this is one of the first films that has the same release date in the UK as the US, usually we have to wait ages to watch them. I loved the books- I read them all within about a week after you recommended them.Really hope the films live up to expectations.
I’m soooo excited for the movies! I want to reread the first book before I see the movie on Sunday! And I am 100% Team Peeta!!!
I never was interested in Twilight. I tried, but it just didn’t happen!
I bought the first book on whim last month to read on my midnight shifts at work and I loved it! I had heard of the series before, but didn’t know anything about it. I am excited to buy the next two of the trilogy and read them. I definitely want to see the movie!
I think the book was laid out perfectly for a movie. There shouldn’t be too much deviation!
And I am only one book in so my mind may change, but I’m Team Gale… there is something about Peeta makes me think he’s sneaky!
Yes! Super excited for the movie and I do think they will do the books justice.
Team Peeta all the way!!!
Will you post a tutorial for dippy eggs? They always look so good but I don’t know how to cook them properly.
I’m going to midnight premiere Thursday night (and then working on Friday, ahh!). Also, I went to pre-school with Jennifer Lawrence (aka Katniss), so it’s quite exciting to see her make it big!
Oh and team Peeta! Though Gale is seksi.
CANNOT WAIT FOR THE HUNGER GAMES!!!!!!!!!!! I read the trilogy early last year as well! TEAM GALE.
I also have been wearing HG nailpolish (China Glaze) leading up to the movie–sick I know lol
Hm, for Katniss, Team Peeta – but I do love me some Gale <3
While I do want to see the movie, I can definitely wait. I hate seeing movies in crowded theaters and I have a feeling it’s going to be a good long while before the crowds thin out.
Team Peeta 🙂 I’m excited for the movie but probably won’t see it right away.
Team Peeta from the beginning! I can’t wait to see the movie!!!
CANT WAITTTT!. whee. I tihnk I’ll see it on Saturday, though. (Guess I can, technically, wait.)
The previews are AWESOME and make me think it will definitely do the book justice, although I have read reviews that suggest the movie’s interpretation of the poverty in District 12 and the gaudiness of the Capital may not be what we all envisioned. Well, that’s bound to happen anyway. Still stoked.
Team Gale… I was team Gale as I was reading, although Peeta is obviously a sweetheart, he’s not HER sweetheart… Oh well. I’m at least glad (SPOILER ALERT) that in the end, Katniss had an external reason for her choice, rather than just her gut. Oh, Gale, why all the snares…
