Hello there!
Iām back at home after spending the day out and about.
I spent the afternoon working on stuff for the Taste of Ocala, which is happening in exactly one month!
Late this morning, I drove out to a committee meeting that lasted several hours. Committee members updated each other on our individual responsibilities and projects and brainstormed more about the event.
When the meeting let out, I stopped for a quick ham sub from Subway.
I then drove around town and distributed posters and fliers to several of the restaurants that are participating in the Taste of Ocala and chatted with the owners about updates.
I really canāt wait for the big night! I think itās going to be a lot of funā¦ and absolutely delicious.
Since I was driving all over town distributing fliers, I made a few personal pit stops, including one to Platoās Closet, a resale shop that buys used clothing.
They didnāt take much (I had a feeling they wouldnāt since a lot of it was really old), but I did make a few bucks, three of which I immediately spent on a small Blizzard around 3:30 p.m.
Ever since I mentioned the Hawaiian Blizzard on my blog on Tuesday, Iāve been craving a Blizzard like mad. Today I satisfied that craving, only I ordered a midnight truffle Blizzard instead of a Hawaiian because I was in the mood for chocolate rather than fruit.
And now my mind is on dinner! I have some Taste of Ocala-related emails to send out, but then itās time for food.
P.S. The Fashion page was updated today.
Good for you for getting involved in your new hometown!
i love and miss blizzards! the nearest dq is nearly an hour away from me!
Huh. And here I thought the Plato’s closet in Red Deer, Alberta was one of a kind! Quick google search tells me their all over North America. The things we learn everyday…. lol!
And now I want a sub AND a blizzard ;p
omg this is the second blizzard I have seen on a blog today and I want one! Sadly no DQs near me here in lincoln park (chicago). Ugh I need a car and some suburbs!
Now I really want a blizzard! If i get fruit in it, that totally makes it healthy! š
I have never had a blizzard (no dairy queen near me… Boo) but that makes me neeeeed some form of ice cream ASAP!
you are about the cutest! and now I need a blizzard.
Blizzards are the best!!! I looove the cookie jar one — cookie dough + Oreo!
I love your watch band in these pics! What kind is it?
It’s awesome that you’re involved in that event. I love anything local-food related.
Ooh the blizzard looks yummy! I met a friend for lunch today, and there was a frozen-yogurt store right next door … it took every bit of my self-control to refrain! (Only because we’re on a tight budget!)
Midnight Truffle = the BEST blizzard flavor
Now you’ve got me wanting one! š
i miss blizzard—no DQ’s in nyc š
Ahhh it’s been forever since I’ve read blogs! And it’s good to be back to yours š hehe. (well it’s been 1.5 weeks) Anyway, I love your outfit on the fashion page, Julie! š And I didn’t know Plato’s closet did that~there’s another place like that where I live called buffalo exchange.
That blizzard looks so good!
I haven’t tried Chocolate Truffle blizzard. Need to!
Ever since you mentioned the Hawaiian blizzard I have been meaning to try it. Seems like things are really coming along with Taste of Ocala š
I got a raspberry and and hard chocolate concrete from a local place here tonight…! š must be that kind of day!
you’re makin me want a blizzard so bad!
I would ne happy to take those clothes off your hands. š it could be like a little pb fingers garage sale.
I went to Plato’s Closet today too! I found the cutest BCBG summer dress for $16!! Total steal! It made my day!
Hi. Just discovered your blog thru pinterest. Great stuff! Can’t wait to explore, add your circuit training into my fitness mix and try some of your healthy chow!
I was wondering what ever happened to the tshirt
plans for your blog??
Wait — where is there a DQ in town? Not that I haven’t made do with Sonic (hello, pregnancy cravings), but the only one I know of is way down I-75.
That’s awesome you’re putting yourself out there! The event sounds great!
love Dairy Queen!! Blizzards are the perfect treat š
I live WAY to close to a DQ for it to be good for my waistline. We will have to see how this spring/summer goes. It will be our third very close to one, so we shall see!
