I totally forgot to mention that the Fashion page was updated yesterday with the information about the dresses from our first day of cruising. I made sure to include my sister’s dresses in the roundup as well for those who requested the details.
Dinner
At the grocery store last night, I filled my cart with the typical fare and hit up the seafood counter to grab some fresh fish.
“It’s the salmon girl,” the woman behind the counter said to me.
Apparently my tendency to bypass all other types of fish in favor of salmon is becoming rather predictable.
I promised the lady that I would buy halibut and tuna all the time if it weren’t so dang expensive!
Plus, I just love salmon so much. No other fish is as flavorful and decadent. Ryan used to think salmon was “only okay” and now he says he looks forward to eating it every week.
Since it’s ridiculously easy to make, I find myself gravitating toward broiled salmon on nights when I’m just not in the mood to put much effort into dinner.
After tonight’s dinner, Ryan and I took Sadie on her typical evening walk.
It’s getting hotter and hotter in Florida and I fear the glorious temperate weather is now behind us.
Sadie was already pulling toward the shade on our walk. It takes her a while to adjust to the warmer temperatures but once she does, her craziness resumes in full force.
Off to hang with my little family! Enjoy the night!
Abby @ change of pace says
I’ve missed seeing photos of Sadie! Have a nice night.
Caroline @ After Dinner Dance says
Such a great pic of Sadie – love the tongue! I’ve always hated salmon – too fishy for me, but I recently had some in an asian marinade that I almost enjoyed. I’m getting there!
Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries says
i’m totally a salmon girl too!! i love all fish, but salmon is easily my favorite. it’s SO good for you too!
krystal@coffeecardiogoddess says
Oh boy that salmon looks delish!! I’m excited to see your formal night pics from your cruise though haha!
Ashley says
Sometime could you share tips on how you cook multiple things in the oven when they cook at different settings & temperatures (i.e. broiling salmon and also roasting green beans)? Thanks!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
You have the cutest pictures of sadie! She is so photogenic! haha
Meagan @ Managing Meagan says
Oooh! That salmon looks so good! We always make Mahi Mahi at home, but you’re definitely making me wanna try salmon!
Katie @ Katie Moves says
I wish I liked salmon as much a you!! I like other fish more…but trying to get into it..i think i haven’t found the right way I like to make it yet… I’ll check out your recipes! 🙂

Well, there are worse things to be called 🙂

I have never tried Salmon and am scared to. I have always stuck with Tilapia and Cod. I need to suck it up and try it. There are worse things to be called 😉
BTW – INSURGENT was released today (sequel to Divergent). Can this be the June book reading 😉
peanutbutterfingers says
i would LOVE that! i try to leave it up to reader vote though, but since i’m reading it anyway, i’d be all over that one!
Danielle says
Salmon is most definitely my favorite too! Salmon girls for life 😉
Maura @ My Healthy 'Ohana says
I used to think fish was so intimidating to cook, until I prepared salmon with just olive oil, salt, and pepper…it was so delicious and cooked up in no time! Sadie looks so happy in that picture…our Kona has been pulling into the shade too…we’re already into the 90s in Vegas!
Erica @ For the Sake of Cake says
I haven’t made salmon in a few weeks! I’ll have to remember to pick some up this week.
Sadie looks so happy in that picture!
Lauren says
I couldn’t agree with you more on the salmon. The only fish that might take reign over salmon for me would be Sea Bass but that is a small fortune and we usually only save that for special occasions. Salmon is just so reliably delicious and reasonably priced.
Brittany@ Delights and Delectables says
I love salmon!! That used to be the only fish I liked, but here recently I am loving tilapia.
janet says
Love that. Crazy tongue on Sadie. Hilarious!
I love pickerel! (And I can get it “caught fresh today” where I live!) (I think Americans call it Wall-eye)
Hubby is partial to perch (which we can also get “caught fresh today”!)
… We would both live on salmon, lobster and crab if we could afford it!!! (We’re too far from an ocean!)
Stellina @ My Yogurt Addiction says
Salmon is also my seafood of choice! I am jealous of the nice weather you are having in Florida! It’s all rain of here in Boston ;(
Heather H. @ Run Eat Play says
I love your blue plate. I just read tonight that eating off a blue plate helps with your hunger whereas eating off a red plate makes you hungrier. I dont know if it’s true, but I still plan on buying a blue plate!
Danica @ It's Progression says
I’ve never had salmon but I know I should try it! Do you dip it in anything or top it with something? Or just eat it plain/seasoned?
peanutbutterfingers says
i love it simply plain! i also LOVE teriayki salmon!
Annette@FitnessPerks says
I am a salmon girl through and through too! SO delicious and easy 🙂
Hayley C @ Running Down the Runway says
Salmon is definitely my favorite- although ahi tuna is an extremely close second! Unfortunately cooking any type of fish makes my entire dorm building stink, so I have been pretty much banned from cooking it- boo!
Alex @ therunwithin says
Your salmon dishes always look so fresh! Must have a good place to get it.
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
That salmon looks really good! I need to get some soon! 🙂
Jess says
This is sooooo weird. I literally just wrote a blog post about this exact same dinner, then I checked my friend’s blog, she had the same dinner too… now I check pb fingers, and you had the same meal as well! So weird!

Glad to hear that your husband came to his senses with how delicious salmon is 🙂
Antonia @ healthinspirations says
I wish it was hot and sunny in the UK. All we’ve been dealing with in non-stop rain. I really want to come to Florida and soak up the sun!
Sarah says
I always bought/ate salmon for it’s health benefits, but never really loved it until I ate it with BBQ sauce. Now I can’t get enough of it! We eat it ate least 2-3 times a month.
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
I love that picture of Sadie! She is too cute! 🙂 I’ve never been a fan of salmon. I’ve never tried making it at home though. I think if I prepared it myself I might like it. Either way I should give it a try again.
Serena says
Salmon and trout are my favorite fishes. We have salmon at least once a week.
Debbie says
Salmon is my favorite too. It’s inexpensive and it’s filled with healthy goodness. If my boyfriend and I go out for dinner and there is salmon on the menu he will automatically say, “So, I assume you are going to get the salmon tonight” 🙂 lol
Annie says
What type of salmon do you usually buy? I know there is sockeye and another kind…i never know which one to get…so I never end up buying it…but would like to try and make it sooon! Love your blog by the way!
Kim @ The Family Practice says
Ha! We had practically the same dinner last night! familypracticeblog.com – dinner twins lol
Rebecca @ Miss Magnolia Munches & Moves says
Sadie needs some Orbit, because she has a dirty mouth! Do you find she eats less in the heat of summer? My dog usually gobbles up her food before I even walk away, but lately she hasn’t had much of an appetite.
heather says
wow, that’s a long tongue. does she have spots on her tongue – or was she licking some dirt?
