The Rays game was a blow out!
The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Miami Marlins 11 – 0. (I had no idea the Florida Marlins are now the Miami Marlins. Big-time baseball fan, right here.)
Since the stadium was only about 15 minutes from my parents’ house, we dropped Sadie off there before heading back out to the game.
I spy Sadie!
When Ryan got Rays tickets from his coworker on Thursday, we figured we’d spend the weekend in the St. Pete/Bradenton area and spend time with our dads for Father’s Day on Sunday.
We arrived at the game about 10 minutes before it started and had a good time chatting with Ryan’s coworkers before settling into our seats.
The game wasn’t very crowded, but the fans that were there made up for the lack of people in the seats. Plus, the Rays gave us a fun game to watch with 11 runs!
Since, admittedly, baseball games can drag a bit, Ryan and I made “food deals” to give us something fun to look forward to, saying that after the third inning it was hot dog time, after the sixth inning it was time for soft serve, etc.
If you get bored at baseball games, I highly recommend making food deals!
Time to get ready for the day! I have baked oatmeal in the oven for my family and it’s smelling good!
P.S. The Fashion page was updated this morning.

Your legs are so skinnyyyyy. How do you do it? 🙂
Alyssa @ fit and fun in third says
I think making “food deals” would be the only way to get me through a full baseball game. I would definetly have soft serve and a soft pretzel in my deal!

Random question, but do you guys ever use your pool? It’s beautiful and I’m jealousss.

I’m impressed – you’re so dressed up for a baseball game! I usually throw on a baseball cap, shorts and t-shirt!
Emily Butler @EmilysHomestead says
I would probably need a food deal after each inning to keep my awake, yawnnnn. That’s why I prefer watching softball, so much more interesting! (and shorter!)
Clare @ Fitting It All In says
I ALWAYS get my hot dog after the 3rd inning!:)
Alyssa (pb and oats) says
Good idea! I always like knowing there’s an end point to count on

Oooh food deals is a GREAT idea!! I think baseball is SO boring (sorry!) and that MIGHT help me out. Haha.
Glad you all had fun!
Lindsay @ In Sweetness and In Health says
You are gorgeous!! I’d love it if you were my personal stylist and hair stylist hehe…you always look fantastic! And food deals is such a great idea! Games can be sooooo boring and it’s my fiance’s favorite sport haha

Way to go Rays! One day I will go to a home game for them! I love watching baseball games, but I love doing food deals too 🙂

I agree with some of the other commenters… can’t say baseball is a very thrilling sport!! 🙂 But I’m glad you guys had fun. Food deals sound like fun! Have a wonderful weekend Julie, and Happy Fathers Day tomorrow to Dad PB Fingers! 🙂

I love baseball games (go Phillies!), but you’re right, they can drag on a bit. The food is one of the best parts of going to a game!
Presley (@runpretty) says
My husband played baseball for our college and I agree about some games dragging! Luckily, a little bit of alcohol can make it more exciting… haha my entire weekends were consumed with baseball. I had to do *something*!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
I actually got to go to a cubs game this week! Although it wasn’t too boring, it was packed and I spent most of the time chatting with the other interns i’m working with this summer and getting to know them. Haha the Cubs certainly didn’t win though
Courtney @ Outrunning Insecurities says
I have actually never been to a baseball game in my entire life, or any sort of professional sporting event for that matter. Neither of my parents are very big sports fans though… I’ll probably go to at least one baseball game in my life though. Eventually. If only for the experience.

Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
Looks like fun! I went to a baseball game last year with my family and it was a GOOD game so it was definitely fun to watch. We did have to get up a few times though because it was super HOT and HUMID that day and whether we were hungry or not, standing in the A/C for a few minutes was necessary.

I love going to baseball games but they can get quite boring. Your food deals idea sounds like a good way to help!

Sadie so cute in the background!!!

Baseball is such an awesome sport! When I was a little girl my dad always took me to white sox games! We still go to games once in awhile. Base all games were such a treat for me growing up! Glad you guys had fun at the rays game.
