Our friends Will and Alex came to visit last night!
If you’ve been reading the blog for a few months, you might remember these two newlyweds from their beautiful Amelia Island wedding back in January.
They planned a whole weekend of events surrounding their big day and we had a blast. Their wedding was gorgeous!
Will and Alex arrived in Ocala around 5 p.m., so we had plenty of time to catch up and hang out all evening.
We decided to drive downtown for dinner at Harry’s, a New Orleans-style restaurant with lots of seafood options.
To start, our table shared the calamari and I ate more than my fair share. It was really good, but didn’t blow me away. (Whenever I order calamari now I cannot help but compare it to the calamari from Two Urban Licks in Atlanta. The gold standard!)
For my entrée, I opted for the seared ahi tuna salad.
If I see ahi tuna on a menu at a restaurant, I’m always instantly intrigued because I love it and never make it at home. The ginger sesame dressing that was served with the salad was on point!
We spent the remainder of the evening back at our house hanging out and enjoying our mini reunion before Will and Alex had to make the drive back to Orlando. It was so great to spend the evening with them again!

Such a pretty little dress!
And I agree with the Ahi Tuna, looove it. I always seem to order it when I’m out but never make it at home…it’d probably be pretty easy though, no cooking involved!

There’s a Harry’s in Tallahassee too, it’s one of my favorite restaurants! The crab cakes are AMAZING.

I love ahi tuna, and like you, always order it if I’m at a good restaurant and it’s on the menu. When we were on vacation last month, I thought my blog readers might get bored–it was ahi tuna on a salad for three dinners out within the same week! But I couldn’t help myself–so good!

Mmm I love calamari and I’m looong overdue for some! I’ve actually never tried ahi tuna!

That tuna looks really good – it’s been too long since I enjoyed some.
Have a great Sunday!

I love ahi tuna! My mom convinced me to order it once and I haven’t looked back since!

That salad looks amazing!! I am a sucker for always ordering the ahi tuna too. It is soooo good and no matter how hard I try I can not recreate the perfectly seared ahi at home.

the best calamari I’ve ever had was while I was studying in Spain– They are known for their yummy calamari. They eat it with a tangy mayo dip (which I normally wouldn’t go for) but man it was good!

I always wish that I liked tuna more because the color is so darn beautiful! I love me some calamari, though!

I have never had ahi tuna that looks like that! I bet its great. I love getting tuna with the asian ginger dressings, so yummy!

That tuna looks so fresh I can practically taste it! But I’d have no idea where to start if I was making it at home.
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles says
I can’t remember the last time I had calamari – I’ll need to rectify that soon, it’s been far too long. 🙂

You lead such a glamorous life! So jealous haha.

The tuna looks amazing, that’s my favorite way to eat it: seared!
AJ says
I LOVE ahi tuna, that salad looks amazing! And tuna is super easy to make at home…its seriously just seared for 1-2 minutes on each side then throw it on a plate with your favorite side, or onto a salad!

I am always weird about ordering tuna at restaurants. I want it to be SUPER fresh, so if I am not familiar with the restaurant, I won’t order it. Although, I RARELY eat fish (about every 3 months) and when I do it’s always raw.

Oh wow, that salad looks incredible! It’s been awhile since I’ve had a seared ahi salad. I should go look for a recipe! What’s the best dressing you’ve had with it?
