Last night made me long for a week back in college! It felt so incredibly good to be reunited with my best girlfriends from college at the rehearsal dinner of our beautiful friend Leah!
Leah’s fiancé Ricky’s family hosted an evening of drinks, heavy hors d’oeuvres and cake for close friends and family at 400 Beach Seafood and Tap House.
Around this same time two years ago Ryan’s mom hosted our rehearsal dinner in the exact same place in downtown St. Petersburg, so we felt a little nostalgic as we walked into the restaurant ready to celebrate the marriage of our friends. I’m so excited for the wedding today!
Oh! And guess who decided to take the plunge and try out bright red lipstick!?
Since my outfit was rather neutral, I figured last night was a good night to debut the red lips. Thanks to your advice, I stopped by CVS on our way to St. Pete and picked up red lip liner to use before applying the lipstick so it wouldn’t bleed. (Thank you!) I initially felt like the lipstick looked really intense, but Ryan assured me it wasn’t too out there, so out the door I went!
My friend Merri lives in New York and is a red lipstick pro and she gave me her seal of approval.
I told her I feel like red lipstick is high maintenance because you have to touch it up every now and then (which I really didn’t do, so mine was completely worn off by the end of the night, as you can see in the above picture). Plus, I kept worrying that it was on my teeth or smeared across my face. Can you tell I’m a red lipstick rookie!? Ha!
Our group ended up being the last ones out last night as we sat at a table drinking and eating red velvet cake and having the best time. I miss my friends so much!!! I just love how we never seem to miss a beat and pick up right where we left off whenever we see each other even though we all live in different places now. They’re the best!
Breakfast
When I awoke this morning, I made myself a breakfast sandwich with two fried eggs, melted cheese and jelly.
Sweet and salty!
Plus some cinnamon roasted almonds on the side.
I’m off to the hotel to spend the day with my girlfriends. See you crazy kids later!

I love the red lipstick. I don’t think it looks intense at all and honestly I’m not sure I would have really noticed had you not mentioned it 🙂 Moral of the story: it looked great.
I love catching up with my sorority sisters, it’s always SO fun when my pledge class is reunited. I’m glad you guys had such a wonderful night.

LOVE your outfit… (and the dress you wore to the wedding!!) fashion post soon? 🙂
Red lipstick looks good on you! I agree about it being high maintenance.. I wore some to a wedding this weekend as well and I felt the need to keep touching it up and moisturizing my lips with lip balm in between. 🙂 Oh the price we pay… 😉

I’ve been reading your blog for several months but this is my first time commenting. The red lipstick looks great on you! You’re such a pretty girl I can’t imagine you looking bad 🙂 I am absolutely loving your friend’s blush pink dress in the left of the top photo – is there any way you’d consider asking her where it’s from? I have an upcoming event that it would be perfect for 🙂
