Early Morning Montebello Workout
On my fourth and final day in Quebec, I set my alarm for an early morning outdoor workout with Anne.
We walked outside toward the nearby lake just as the sun was rising. The reflection off the misty lake blew me away. It was the best way to kick off the final day of our trip!
Anne and I ran along a two-mile path that circled the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello hotel before setting up camp right by a gazebo along the lake to complete a quick and sweaty interval workout. I set up my phone to play my High Energy Workout Playlist which motivated us through the fast-paced circuit.
Our workout included three rounds of the following:
- 20 burpees
- 5 push ups
- 20 sit ups
- 5 push ups
- 20 walking lunges
- 20 pulsing squats
- 20 jump squats
After a much-needed shower and a quick buffet breakfast at the hotel, our group said goodbye to the beautiful Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello and headed out for our first adventure of the day.
Parc Omega
We arrived at Parc Omega a little after 9 a.m.
Parc Omega is a 2,220 acre park where visitors can drive around to see lots of animals from the comfort of their car. Our group boarded a school bus to check out the park!
While our driver told us fun facts about the park and the animals within it, we snapped lots of pictures and fed some of the animals carrots!
Parc Omega is home to a wide variety of animals including moose, elk, wolves, black bears, bison and more. Many roam freely within the park and can enjoy carrots from visitors, but the bison, wolves, coyotes and bears live in their ownlarge enclosures and cannot be fed.
The little red fox may have been my favorite animal that we saw within the park. His mannerisms reminded me a lot of Sadie. Such a cutie!
Toward the end of our time at the park, we were able to get off the bus and feed the deer which was such a neat experience.
They absolutely love carrots!
At one point we all cracked up when we looked over and one of the baby deer was halfway inside our bus scavenging for more carrots!
Busted!
Parc Omega was such a fun experience and I’m so glad we had the opportunity to see the beautiful animals within the park during our time in Quebec!
Lunch at ChocoMotive
Before it was time to head to the airport, our group stopped at ChocoMotive, a chocolaterie and café, for lunch and some sweet treats.
I ordered a veggie burger with quinoa salad and two cappuccinos topped with chocolate shavings (more for the warmth than for the coffee).
Everything was delicious!
Following lunch, our group sampled a handful of the homemade artisan chocolates and they were incredible.
The hazelnut truffle stole the show!
It was the perfect ending to such a wonderful time in the Outaouais region of Canada. Thank you again to Tourism Outaouais and Tourisme Quebec and our fabulous press trip leaders, Anne and Marouan, for such an incredible trip! I had a fabulous time and am so grateful I had the opportunity to see such a stunning region of Canada!
Julie: You get the most hilarious pictures of animals with funny faces. Looks like an awesome trip and one to remember!
how fun!!! I NEEED one of those pigs now!
Parc Omega looks like such a fun experience! Getting so close to those animals must have been awesome. Your workout by the lake sounds great too with the lovely scenery! Thanks for recapping your whole trip for us! I loved hearing about it 🙂
What beautiful pictures! I love the sun rising pic the most <3
That baby deer just made me “awwww” so loudly in my office. Haha! How fun to be able to feed animals 🙂
Aww this looks like such a fun time! That little deer has the exact same eyes as my dog when I catch her doing something she shouldn’t! 🙂
Oh my gosh, how cool!!! I want to play with the animals!! 😉
You guys seriously had an amazing trip!! Ending on a perfect note with gorgeous looking chocolates 🙂
That baby dear is tooo cute!! What a face. Sounds like you had a great time! Quebec is stunning at this time of year!
What is that adorable little pig? It’s so cute!
Now that’s what I call a petting zoo! The picture of the moose eating the carrot reminds me of the Santa Clause movie for some reason. Too cute!
What a cool experience to be up close and personal with all of the animals!! And that food looks delish!
What a great way to end your trip! That bus – petting zoo experience was super cool!! and what could be bad about a chocolate factory? 🙂

Wow! It’s amazing how you get to see all those animals! And the baby deer going into the bus is so cute 😀
That’s so cool that you got to feed the deer! I’ve come very close to deer while hiking in CO Springs but definitely never fed any!
Oh my gosh the animals! How cool is that? My husband wanted to go to Canada for our honeymoon but I veto’d for Europe. You’re making me second guess my thoughts!
Those little baby deer are too cute!! Looks like so much fun!
Woowee the animals are all so cute and friendly it looks like!! Truffles—->yum!! 🙂
That school bus is too cute! Almost as cute as the baby deer. What an incredible adventure and trip. So cool that blogging has opened up this world for you 🙂
Sounds like a great final day of your trip! Love the animal photos — what a neat experience!
I would have freaked out with those bears!
How funny- I didn’t know restaurants served sandwich thins! 😛
Parc Omega sounds awesome!! My boyfriend would love that place getting to feed moose and animals! I definitely would too don’t get me wrong but its the kind of thing he would love.
I love that sprung deer getting into the extra carrots in the bus, I bet thats not the first time they’ve tried to raid a bus for more carrots! 🙂
HAHA the picture of the elk licking is too funny!!
Such a pretty sunrise! Can’t believe the deer tried to get in the bus! Haha!
Just curious, are red foxes very common over there?
What a fantastic park! And the deer trying to get in the bus was so cute 🙂
So let me get this straight…they did NOT want you to feed the bears, bison, and coyotes?? Ha.
I’d want to be on a bus that doesn’t have the person would want to feed them.
I love the picture of the deer trying to get on the bus! Too cute 🙂
I was really impressed with all the close up animal pictures you were able to get! This looks like a fun end to your trip!
This post gives me warm and fuzzy feelings of my childhood trips to parc omega – so good!! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hi there,
I did one of your workouts this morning. Yikes, it got my heart racing, but I loved it. I warmed up for 10 minutes on the rowing machine, did your workout, then did 10 minutes on the stair-master, total time 60 minutes and so much fun to try new things. Thanks for sharing! I will definitely try some more. Cheers~
the chocolaterie is my kind of place!!!!
