Friday is here and it’s time to chat about things we’re loving this week!
One thing I always love? Thunderstorms in the morning! Maybe it’s the April baby in me, but I’ve always adored waking up to the sound of rain against the windowpane and rolling thunder. (Of course it’s not so great on vacation or when I have an early morning run on the books!)
Thunderstorms have taken over Ocala this morning and they’re making it hard not to want to crawl back into bed, but I am enjoying the cozy ambiance they’re adding to my home office as I type up this blog post. I hope they stick around this morning but dissipate as soon as I need to hit the road for Miami. A five hour drive in crazy rain does not sound like a fun time to me!
Moving right along to your regularly scheduled programming… Below you will find some things that are making me smile this week. As always, please share your weekly favorites the comments section!
Things I’m Loving Friday
- Pandora Shuffle
As someone who listens to Pandora daily, I feel a little embarrassed that I’ve never noticed the “Shuffle” button at the top of my list of stations before. Thanks to my friend Leah, I discovered this button and the ability for Pandora to play songs from any of my favorite stations. Oh happy day! (For those interested, here’s a throwback post to some of my favorite Pandora stations!)
- My Ridiculous Husband and Dog
Ryan and I have been on a nightly massage kick (I hope it never ends!) and when Ryan laid on the floor in our living room last night for his turn, I had to laugh when Sadie quickly posted up right in front of him, laying her head on his arm as if she was waiting for her massage. Ridiculous.
This is one item I currently have on my wish list! (I probably should’ve shared it with my family when they were looking for birthday ideas, huh?) I love the super-thin gold band, but think I may need to do some digging on Etsy to find a more affordable option. I adore the delicate look and think they’d make perfect day-to-day rings.
Love this post from the always thought-provoking Carla Birnberg!
Talk about some badass band aids! I cannot help but laugh when I picture a measly paper cut covered in a “Shark Bite” bandage. Amazing.
- Plantain Chips
These plantain chips were a total impulse buy earlier this week and I’ve been finding myself grabbing a handful at all times of the day. They don’t taste nearly as sweet as banana chips and I love the salty crunch! My favorite way to eat them so far? Chip ‘n’ dip style with a creamy cup of Greek yogurt with honey.
- Reebok ONE Cushion Giveaway Winner
Congratulations to Erin! “Love the Sonic Green/Trust Blue/Optimal Pink – the more color, the better! Would love to have these to train in for my first half marathon post-baby.” Erin was emailed first thing this morning!

I also love rainy nights/mornings! Sleeping to the sound of rain is the best. However I have been loving the California sun this week!

Love that idea of ending the glorification of busy. My church did a series on the 7 Deadly Sins in the fall and it turned my idea of “sloth” on its head. We talked about how sloth can be what we think of it (lazy, over consuming, etc) but that it can also be being lazy in our spiritual life and being so busy (or claiming to be too busy) for Him. It was such an interesting way to think of it.

I loved the glorification of busy post too. Her posts are always so intriguing. I need to get Matt on this nightly massage thing…that sounds amazing!

Love Plantain Chips! I’m totally that girl that pulls a bag of plantain chips out of her purse at Mexican restaurants with me for chips and salsa. So good! Trader Joe’s has some good ones 🙂

I love those rings! They do actually have them on etsy! I just bought one for $35. Mine was only that much, though, because I only wanted 1 and decided to buy one that was solid 14k gold. I saw some as inexpensive as $9 and you can buy them in sets if you want more than one! So pretty!

I didn’t know about the shuffle button either! That makes things so much easier now! Also those band aids are awesome.
I’m definitely looking forward to not working and to enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend. Enjoy!

LOVE those delicate rings, so pretty! And I must know where you found those plaintain chips? I’ve been looking everywhere for some! I made my own not too long ago but they are hard to get right…most ended up burning or being undercooked because I was afraid of them burning 🙂
