Leslie wanted me to jot it down for her to keep on hand when she needs some workout inspiration, so I figured why not share it with you guys, too? Below you will find our Friday morning upper body + cardio workout:
For the cardio portion of the workout, you can choose whatever form of cardio you wish! We jumped around a lot and took our cardio to the elliptical and the treadmill for some incline walking or jogging. If you are doing this workout at home or don’t want to waste time at the gym running from one cardio machine to the next, jump rope is a great cardio option, or you can run through this 5-minute cardio circuit:
- 1 min. jumping jacks
- 1 min. high knees
- 1 min. jog in place
- 1 min. butt kickers
- 1 min. front kicks
And here are a few picture demos of some of the exercises:
This workout did a great job of holding our interest and we left the gym feeling like we accomplished a quality workout in a relatively short amount of time. Woo!
Ooooh bosu burpees look killer! I always love a quick effiecemt workout, thanks for sharing!
This is exactly what I needed for my workout today! Thanks!
Enjoy the rest of your trip!!
totally thought ‘hand release pushups’ were the ones where you push off and clap before coming back down and I was like OMG 15 of those?! hahaha.
I thought the same thing! Hahaha
ooooh no! haha! I would definitely have to work up to doing 15 of those!
I really dig those hand release pushups they force you to do an actual pushup ad not cut it short! Enjoy the rest of your trip xo C
This looks awesome! I’ve never heard of hand release push-ups, so I’ll definitely have to give those a try.
Great workout!! The high knees and butt kicks was me in my hotel room this am – I really hope the people downstairs loved it! I walked into the hotel gym and straight back out after seeing their cardio machines…haha ugh! #businesstripproblems

good for you for sneaking in a hotel room workout while traveling!!
It sounds like my kind of workout, I like changing things up and making time fly by!
Good workout! Workouts definitely shouldn’t be mandatory on trips, but it’s always nice to squeeze in a quick session. Great you could do it with Leslie too. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Haha I think I would collapse after about 5 bosu burpees – but something to work towards!
Love this! Hand release push ups are the best ….as in, they’re pretty challenging!
Thanks for sharing!! Always a good thing to have a pre-made workout for those no motivation days 🙂 never heard of bosu burpees and they sound brutal!! In a good way!

I like bosu burpees way more than regular burpees! I incorporate them into boot camp classes I teach a lot and they’re an exercise everyone loves to hate. 🙂
Plank row has been one of my favorite exercises lately!
agreed!! love the way it targets the core, shoulders and back!
This workout looks so awesome!
This workout looks great! I like switching between cardio and weights. It’s a great way to keep that heart pumping!
Burpees make me want to PUKE, I can’t even imagine how intense bosu burpees would be! Gotta give them a try!
Great workout! Can’t wait to try some of these moves!
This looks fantastic–and plank rows are super tough but perfectttttt 🙂
ive never heard of bicep 21s. look forward to trying this.
I’ve done those bicep moves before but never knew the actual name! Thanks! It’s great you guys hit the gym, but also great you didn’t worry too much about official workouts during your vacation!
Looks like another great workout! I am always looking for more inspiration in the gym so I love being lazy and having my workout handed to me haha.
I love 21’s and Bosu Burpees! This looks like a great workout to do on an ‘extra day’ to hit up all of your upper body parts! Thanks for sharing!
Doing this tonight (minus the bosu)! I really want one for home, but I think my cats would pop it with their claws. RIP Stability Ball.
I am terrible at getting motivated to do my strength training, so this sounds amazing!! I love switching it up to keep things interesting!
Love the workout as usual! HR push ups are no joke!
thanks for the workout it was awesome. the Cardio was the killer in between the supersets
I decided to use this workout as my 27th birthday workout! I changed the reps, however. For each exercise I did 3 sets of 9 reps so I could do 27 each! It was a great work out to end my birthday 🙂
Tried this workout last night and I was a sweaty mess! I’m awful at finding arm workouts that keep me interested but this one did the trick 🙂
Yay!!!
