Good morning! I’m checking in with your usual Things I’m Loving Friday post a little late today because I had to stick around at the gym after I taught my barbell class to help out with a few things, but I’m home now and looking forward to chatting with you guys about what we’re all loving most this week like we usually do! It’s such a nice way to kick off the weekend and I love reading about things that make you smile every Friday. Thanks for always playing along!
And now let’s dive right in, shall we?
Things I’m Loving Friday
- Spring Flowers
Ryan brought these wonderfully fragrant flowers home the day before his ACL surgery and they are so beautiful! They brighten up our whole kitchen!
- Your Baby Registry Suggestions
When my mom, sister and aunt kindly offered to throw us a baby shower and asked where we were registered, I took that as a sign that I needed to get my butt in gear and actually create a registry. And then I felt completely overwhelmed and 100 percent clueless. Bless you guys for weighing in and sharing your favorite baby products on the PBF Facebook page last weekend when I desperately asked for your advice! I started creating our registry on Monday night and used every single one of your comments to help get me going!
I’m planning to turn your recommendations into a blog post since I’ve already had a few requests from equally overwhelmed new moms-to-be to do so, but so far the general consensus seems to be that the Rock ‘n’ Play is a little gift sent from heaven for many moms out there! And I took your advice and added the NoseFrida to our registry after gagging to myself when I read about it… You want me to do what!?! I think I’m in for a treat with that one!
- Nurse Sadie
The view I arrived home to after teaching this morning:
Whenever people ask me whether or not Sadie knows I’m pregnant I just have to laugh because I’m pretty darn positive she is 100 percent in the dark. One thing she does know, however, is that something is going on with Ryan right now. Ever since we got him all set up on the couch following his ACL surgery, she has been his little bedside nurse, cuddling with him and giving him all the love she has in her wiggly little 38-pound body. It’s adorable and warms my heart every time I see these two bonding in their ridiculous love bubble. I don’t know what’s going to happen to my heart when I see Ryan with our son…
- Teaching Group Exercise
As a group exercise instructor, sometimes my enthusiasm for teaching ebbs and flows and while I truly do always enjoy it, there are certain times when I feel like I’m absolutely loving it and I’ve been in this zone for a little while now. I feel like I have a great group of regulars for most of my classes and the feeling I get when everyone is focused and pushing themselves in one of my classes is such a great one. Perhaps the biggest shocker to me personally is how much I love teaching Spinning! I started teaching it mostly to help out my boss when she needed someone and it quickly morphed into one of my all-time favorite classes to teach.
- Suja Fuel Juice
Suja sent me a wonderful box of some of my favorite juices this week and I basically chugged this carrot orange juice right when I arrived home from the gym this morning. I typically gravitate toward their green juices, but this one was quite refreshing after a sweaty barbell class!
Question of the Day
- What is one thing you are loving this week?
Liza says
A word of caution: oftentimes those veggie juices aren’t pasteurized and may not be best to drink when preggo. Maybe ask your doctor about this? I have an auto-immune disease and cannot drink them since they can carry bacteria, and I know often in pregnancy they recommend similar diet restrictions.

I also gagged at the thought of the Nose Frieda when I was pregnant, but I drove in a snow storm at night this winter to buy one when nothing else worked on our little guy. Life saver!

the amazon reviews are pretty funny! it seems like everyone is kind of horrified by the nosefrida… but that doesn’t stop them from using it!

Sadie is so cute. I can’t wait to see her with the baby! I bet she will be a great big sis! I made my own ginger shots this week so that is what I am loving lately! Makes me feel great and gives me a jolt in the morning!

I teach Spinning too and I’ve been feeling really “on” lately! Lots of energy and motivation to lead a good class. Feels great 🙂

The nose Frida is really not that bad – and once you see how much better it makes them feel, you won’t mind one bit. I would do anything to help clear that little nose when she feels so miserable and can’t eat because she can’t breathe through it! The baby will hate it, but again, we couldn’t live without it!

I can’t wait for your registry post!

Sadie should have a nursing liscence … RN (registered nutbar!)

Hi Julie,
Love the blog and have been a long time reader. I was wondering if you are still planning in doing a blog post about your house? I know you did the office, but the kitchen looks amazing. Would love to see more. Hope Ryan is feeling better. I went through the surgery twice, it’s very painful at first. Good luck to Ryan! Your bump is the cutest.

Oh my goodness, that picture of Ryan and Sadie made me melt. Dogs are the best! I’m smiling this week because my boyfriend came to visit me in my hometown while I was on a break from school (we’re in a long-distance relationship)! Even though I had to say goodbye to him on Friday it was such a treat to have him here for the week 🙂
Oh! I’m also smiling because yesterday I made the big leap to self-hosting on my own blog – ahh! I’m pretty thrilled about my new site that finally feels like my very own! Happy Sunday to you!

I love those Suja juices! I just wish they weren’t so darn expensive! I buy them up when they go on sale!

At my baby shower this weekend, friends suggested the Nose Frieda to me. Totally grosses me out, but all the amazing reviews can’t be wrong. Plus one friend made some great points about the traditional bulb suckers & mold. It’ll take some getting used to, but a happy baby will make using the Nose Frieda worth it!
