July is here and it’s time for your monthly Top 15 of 2015 post!
At the end of 2014, I continued a mini series I began a few years ago and featured the top posts of the year on PBF. Beginning in January, I decided to prolong the series for the duration of 2015 and highlight the top 15 posts from each month on the blog at the end of every month.
- Top 15 of 2015: January
- Top 15 of 2015: February
- Top 15 of 2015: March
- Top 15 of 2015: April
- Top 15 of 2015: May
These are not necessarily the top new posts I publish each month, as throwback posts from several years ago seem to pop up and claim top spots each month which I always find interesting!
Here are your most popular PBF posts (according to pageviews) from the month of June, divided into three categories: Recipes, Fitness and Extras. (Note: This series does not include any giveaways, previous Top 15 posts or Things I’m Loving Friday posts.)
RECIPES
This blog post included a round up of some of my favorite no bake recipes that have been featured on PBF over the course of the past few years. If you are not in the mood to fire up the oven or stove in this summer heat, hopefully one of these recipes will jump out at you!
My aunt made this recipe during my family baby shower in Raleigh earlier this month and everyone raved about the fresh summer flavors and the light, delicious dressing.
This is probably the most special recipe I’ve shared on this blog since I began blogging in September 2009. I was thrilled to see it claim a top spot this month. My grandmother’s sugar cookies have been a family favorite for as long as I can remember.
I’m so glad this recipe from 2013 gained some traction last month! It’s a personal favorite and a crowd pleaser! If you’re looking for a delicious dish to bring to a Fourth of July gathering, definitely give this one a go. It’s great as an entree or a side dish.
Apparently shrimp recipes were popular last month, huh? This 2011 recipe includes only five ingredients and comes together in no time at all.
FITNESS
As the name implies, this throwback workout from July 2013 is a sweaty one and includes a mix of high-intensity cardio, upper and lower body strength exercises and core work for a total body challenge.
Last fall, I shared this blog post that features my favorite workout capris and tights. They’re functional, comfortable and flattering!
Looking for a challenging treadmill workout but not in the mood to run? Try this workout I shared back in January 2013 that incorporates lots of inclines.
I’m always surprised when older workouts claim top spots – especially when they feature my old Excel graphics – but I love this one! It’s fast paced and difficult, but also fun because it hops quickly from one exercise to the next.
Looking for a quick workout that works the whole body in less than 25 minutes? This boot camp workout is a good one!
EXTRAS
- PBF Baby Posts
Once again baby-related blog posts claimed the top spots on the blog this month (they actually completely surpassed every other category, too!), but since I do not want the “Extras” category to be totally consumed by baby/pregnancy-related posts, I’m yet again consolidating them into one spot! Here are the weekly updates and baby-related posts that claimed the top five spots this month, in order of popularity: 30 Weeks, 32 Weeks, 31 Weeks, Showered with Love (<—My Charlotte baby shower) and Second Trimester Pregnancy Favorites.
- 60th Birthday Present: 60 Reasons Why You’re Loved
I shared this blog post after my dad’s 60th birthday in 2013. I reached out to everyone I knew who meant a lot to my dad and asked them to share one sentence with me about my dad that began with the words, “I love…” This blog posts details the end result of this project that was truly a pleasure to put together and a big hit with my dad, too!
I hate checking a bag when I travel and do everything I can to avoid the fees airlines are charging for checked luggage these days. I shared a handful of tips and tricks I use to ensure I can carry-on nearly every time I travel in this blog post from 2014. Perhaps lots of summertime travel plans can be credited for this blog post surfacing again last month?
This blog post features a sneak peek into the daily eating habits of four dietitians. Lots of recipe inspiration in this one!
Do you have a ton of old race t-shirts taking up space in your closet? This blog post includes a bunch of ideas for ways to repurpose race t-shirts in a fun way.
So glad you do these “top of the month” posts – they always include a lot that I’ve either never seen or forgotten about and love!
I’m happy to see Mimi’s Sugar Cookies made the list! And I agree, these post are great in case I missed something.
Just out of curiosity – what DID you end up doing with all your race shirts? I remember you said you already had one t-shirt quilt and were a little hesitant to make another!
Julie, I am so looking forward to our post on the nursery, is it going to be this week?
Yes!! Tomorrow!
I don’t remember the post about packing in a carry-on suitcase! I am traveling next month so I am going to go back and take a look at that one. 🙂
I would love a post about your favorites blog posts!
Totally missed the race t-shirts post – I had heard of doing quilts but now I am more into the idea than ever, I have so many I can’t possibly wear out!
I love these posts because they always remind me of great workouts that I pinned long ago and forgot to go back to. I can’t wait to try the sweat it out boot camp workout. Hope you’re feeling relaxed today after your crazy appointment yesterday!
I’m pretty sure I’m the one that keep searching for the reasons why you’re loved! I made it for my parents for their 30th wedding anniversary! Thanks for the awesome idea, they loved it! 🙂
Aw, great anniversary gift idea! Love that!
i’m going to have a blanket made out of all my old race tshirts!
I made the “60 Reasons Why You’re Loved” gift for my mom’s 60th! So definitely contributed to that being a popular post! Thanks for the awesome idea Julie. She LOVED it.
Yay!! I hope she loved it!!
Love these posts… and those no-bake recipes are my absolute fave! Thanks again for sharing : )
I love shrimp in the summer! I’ll have to try out those recipes. Also definitely checking out your tips with old race t shirts..I have so many! Happy July Julie!
Love the yummy recipes and awesome workouts (especially the walking treadmill–running on the treadmill can be daunting!).
I loved that What do Dieticians eat post!
How did I miss those shrimp recipes?! #NewFollowerFOMO Can’t wait to try that 1000 Rep workout, too. Fast paced, definitely keeps it moving! Wooo!! 🙂
I’m going to go back and try those shrimp recipes! Yummy! So special that Mimi’s cookies found heir way to the top.
I loooove using Hoisin sauce in recipes. It’s sooo good!!
I need to make those sugar cookies for a lady lunch we have coming up! I’m in charge of dessert, I knew I would find something on pbfingers!! 😀 Can’t wait to try them, you’ve raved about them for so long now! 😀
I remember you posting the idea for your dad’s 60th birthday. I adapted the idea for my mom’s retirement: I asked all the guests to answer “The thing I admire most about….” Then I printed out all of the responses on pretty paper and put them in a nice binder. My mom loved it!
What a great recap. I always enjoy catching up with your blog posts on this one.
That shrimp and avocado salad looks amazing!!!
I have a question about Mimi’s sugar cookies that I forgot to ask – you mentioned to make them LARGE, but I can’t tell how large they are in the photos. Just how large do you make them so that they’re still soft? 3 inches wide? Thanks!
Love seeing the round-ups!
Three inches sounds perfect! They’re usually a little bigger than the size of the palm of my hand. 🙂
Thank you!
The sugar cookies look so soft and delicious. Going to have to test them out soon!
