Today’s adventures in IKEA proved quite productive!
Okay so we didn’t actually get anything, but I think that I now know what furniture I want for my home office.
I love the above bookcases and the sofa table. IKEA also has a desk that matches these two pieces of furniture perfectly.
I think they would look really great with a statement desk chair.
Something like this…
(You know I found that photo on Pinterest.)
I have a lot of different design ideas in my head and can’t wait to get started! I’ll be sure to post progress photos for you guys to see along the way. I am hoping my office has a clean, comfortable and somewhat vintage feel.
I really liked the layout of this office at IKEA:
Trips to IKEA are always an adventure. My mom, sister and I had a great time meandering through all of different rooms and could not stop “awww-ing” at the baby furniture section.
When my sister found these stuffed vegetables, we just about died.
I think these would be a hit with some beautiful pregnant bloggers I know! Someone buy the broccoli, please. So stinkin’ cute!
Dinner
When we arrived home from IKEA, Sadie and RYAN were waiting for us! Seeing Ryan and Sadie playing in the backyard together warmed my heart. My little family is reunited at last.
Dinner tonight included filets with a crab cobb salad, broccoli, fresh cherries and potatoes.
It was a good one!
Since Ryan was joining us, my mom made sure to get a special dessert for my Oreo-lovin’ husband.
Cookies ‘n’ cream cake!
I had a piece (okay, two pieces) with vanilla ice cream.
There doesn’t need to be a birthday to warrant cake in this house.
Time to hang out with the fam. Enjoy your Friday night!

i’ve never been to ikea. nope. never. kinda hard to believe i know. and sad. (for me, of course.) but we don’t have one in the mountains where i live and the closest one is about 2 hours away.
i’ve checked them out online. and ordered a catalog, which arrived in the mail TODAY!!! while i know it can’t possibly be the same as actually walking through the store, i’m excited to just browse through it to get some great organizing ideas!!!

I’ve never been to Ikea but keep meaning to go- time to get rid of our hand-me-down furniture and buy some of our own! I’ve heard they have it all set up and all you have to do is mark what ya like and pick it up- hassle free! So happy that you’re little family was reunited- I’ve been apart from my fiance all week and I cannot wait to see him tomorrow 😀

I love that sofa table. I can’t wait to get a house of my own (we’re in an apartment right now), so I can buy new furniture. I also have my eye on a chaise.

I just saw that same desk in the recent Good Housekeeping magazine. It was featured as one of the top 5 home office desks.

I LOVE Ikea!! I could spend hours, and hundreds of dollars there, almost every day. I always get excited to move into a new place because it brings with it the potential of Ikea shopping!
