Ryan and I are big-time Jeopardy fans. We watch the show a couple times a week and have a good time playing along.
For Christmas, my mom gave Ryan a Jeopardy calendar to bring to work with daily trivia questions. Once Ryan gets through a handful of the questions, he brings them home for me to attempt and we see how we stack up.
I did pretty well on the “Haiku to the Chief” category, which I think would make my President-loving friend Heather pretty proud. (The answer to the above question is Reagan, in case you were wondering or wanted to see if you were right. I did a president report on him in sixth grade!)
I’m actually blogging while we watch Jeopardy on TV right now!
Any other Jeopardy nerds out there?
Dinner
Tonight’s dinner was built around quinoa.
I prepared quinoa on the stove top and added roasted eggplant, broccoli, chicken sausage, mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce to the mix once it was done cooking.
I wanted to use up the broccoli and eggplant I had on hand before I head out of town tomorrow and this bowl was the perfect way to do it! I loved all the different flavors.
Time to cram in some quality time with Ryan and Sadie.
Enjoy your evening!

My roommates and I watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune a couple of times a week too! Although this week I haven’t been too big a fan of it. I watched the college edition last week and felt SO. SMART. getting answers right. And then real Jeopardy came back.
It’s safe to say I was put back in my place… AKA not knowing any answers 🙂
Caroline says
I used to watch Jeopardy with my big brother all the time – brings back memories! My parents still watch Wheel of Fortune every night 🙂 I think I’m much better at Wheel of Fortune than with trivia!
Raquel @ Toned, Tan, Fit & Techie says
I am the most insane Jeopardy person! Since I was a kid. I end up clearing more than 50% of the board for both rounds. I’m filled with useless knowledge! My family doesnt like to play with me since I can read the questions faster than any of them! I am wondering if that means I’m cheating?
Joelle (On A Pink Typewriter) says
That quinoa looks AMAZING! I have to give that recipe a try. I’m a big fan of eggplant, but i’ve found it’s a love it or hate it veggie for a lot of folks.
Kerri says
I’m watching Jeopardy while reading this! And I agree with Sara, I feel so much smarter during college week. Er, let’s be honest… Bring back kids’ week!
Bethany @ Accidental Intentions says
The last time I actually remember watching Jeopardy was when I came down with the stomach flu during my sophomore year of college…not the best memory haha. It inspired me, though, and I thought about applying for College Jeopardy…by which I mean I went on the website to figure out the process, and that was as far as I made it haha. But you know, that’s something 😛
StoriesAndSweetPotatoes says
That jeopardy calendar is so cool!
mindy @ just a one girl revolution. says
Huge Jeopardy fan – watching right now! 🙂 I actually did the online test earlier this year – it’s the first step to be a contestant and it was SO much harder than I anticipated!
Heather says
so proud of you, dear!! 🙂 xo
Hillary says
Fun embarrassing fact: I like kid’s Jeopardy because it makes me feel like a rockstar. Ahh, outsmarting 12 year olds. Never gets old!
Kelly says
My boyfriend and I watch Jeopardy together every night if we are home! We have fun “playing” against each other and seeing who gets the most right. I just watched it tonight too!
dee says
Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder what ryan eats when julie is away? For some reason (even though I don’t know much about him, and he can be some low-key iron chef), I can’t picture him cooking up a bowl of quinoa or baking a quiche..haha 🙂 gabriella (uneviesaine) had a post about guy and girl food, and I think it’d be fun if you both recorded your eats while away from each other and do a compare/contrast!
Miranda @ Biting Life says
I could NEVER do Jeopardy – it’s so hard! My dad’s amazing at it, though. He’s seriously the smartest person ever. My mom and I are huge Wheel of Fortune fans, though!
Erica @ For the Sake of Cake says
I’m more of a Wheel of Fortune girl myself! I’ve always admired Vanna White’s ability to make a career out of wearing pretty dresses & pressing a touch-screen. I’d kill for that job.
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
Haha I would be so awful at jeopardy! I am horrible with remembering facts about anything!
Colleen @ Jimmy Choos on the Treadmill says
My dad loves Jeopardy, so we’ll sometimes watch it as a family, but it’s usually too challenging for me!
Kaelin says
I have the best memories of watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with my family when I was a kid. Since I have moved to the Central Time Zone, its on at 3:30 now. Total bummer!! My husband and I still catch the Wheel most nights, but Jeopardy is a sick-day treat. 😉
Jamie @ Don't Forget the Cinnamon says
I’ve actually never watched jeopardy but I always loved playing in grade school to review for tests!
Breanne says
Hi!
I’ve been reading a few months, but this is the first time I’m de-lurking and commenting.
I was a contestant on Jeopardy in 2009! It was such an amazing experience. I’d love to tell you more about it if you’d ever like to hear–and I could show you my photo with Alex! 😉
peanutbutterfingers says
oh my gosh! too cool! breanne, would you be open to me sending you some questions for a Q&A post about your experience? i think it would be really interesting!
Samantha says
I LOVE jeopardy! When I was training for the turkey trot 10k last year, I would plan my long runs on the treadmill so that they would be when jeopardy was on! I made sure to get our gym workers to change the channel when it was time, and then I would be the freak yelling answers at the TV! Honestly it was usually the only thing that got me through the runs!
chelsey @ clean eating chelsey says
My dad is a total jeopardy nerd! he DVR’s it every single day. Weirdo! 🙂
Lauren @ Vaguely Vegan says
My fiance and I are huge Jeopardy! fans…almost every night if we happened to be home around that time. I like to keep score on a piece of paper some nights, only if I’m kicking butt though. That quinoa concoction looks awesome. It’s such a great base for so many different flavors and combos!
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
we’re more wheel of fortune fans…but i do love me some jeopardy!
Elisabeth says
I LOVE Jeopardy! I’m 29 & have probably watched it religiously since I was about 8? I don’t watch every night any more, but I pretty much don’t go a week without watching it at least once. However, I do not really care for Wheel of Fortune.
Nathan Miller says
The fiance an myself may or may not make it a nightly tradition to watch it together everynight after supper….nerds? no way! Just learning something new everyday….So “Suck that TrabeK”
Jessica @ Sushi and Sit-Ups says
My fiancé and I love Jeopardy too! Although I’m a little partial to the college edition. I don’t feel so inferior that way!
Michelle (Better with Berries) says
I watch jeopardy every so often but it’s hard to watch with my boyfriend. He knows way more answers than I do 🙂
j3nn says
I love Jeopardy! even though I don’t watch in on TV very often, I do have the app on my iPad and kick computer opponents butt! haha Multiple choice answers may help a bit. 🙂
Amy says
Hi! I’ve never commented before but I LOVE your blog for all of the workouts and great recipes. I am also a major dog lover and I was looking at petfinder.com because we are thinking of adopting. Anyways, I came across this link- http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/22247783 and thought it may make you smile. Hope you’re having a great night!

One pot meals are my favorite!
Liz @ Tip Top Shape says
Five or so years ago there was that one guy who went on to win a bunch of the shows. He was the longest running winner, or something? Anyhoo, if you can sort through the those vague descriptions (sorry!), my neighbors and I watched all those shows religiously. It was cool to see someone go so far on it!
Shosh says
I love Jeopardy, too! Speaking of College Edition, my friend was on it this month. He made it to the semi-finals. Go Cal Poly!
Khushboo Thadani says
I am such a trivia junkie…love it! That calendar is a great idea!
Jen says
I like the idea of the quinoa recipe, very creative and tasty looking :-D. I love a good desktop calendar too, lots of fun!
Lauren says
This looks so good 🙂
Maria says
My boyfriend and I play Jeopardy whenever we are together too! He used to kill me when we first started but I’ve gotten much better. I even beat him once including final Jeopardy haha. So fun 😀
Emily N says
I am not too good at jeopardy, although some categories might have been MADE for me, I think. I dominate those.
However, what I am really terrible at is sports trivia. We play that at work with my bosses page a day calendar, and when you get a question right, you hang up the page in your cube. I only got 5 for ALL of 2011. But I am already at 2 for 2012. Maybe I am getting better?
Amber @ Busy, Bold, Blessed says
Ooooh that dinner looks delish! I’ve never cooked eggplant before… I’m kinda intimidated lol… guess I just gotta go for it!
Hope @ With A Side Of Hope says
I love watching Jeopardy! My fiance and I both try to compete against each other. It’s fun 🙂
Sarah says
We watch Jeopardy every day during dinner. I’ve actually passed the online test and done the in-person audition twice…just waiting for that phone call. 🙂
Laurie says
LOVE jeopardy! My parents record it throughout the week and always watch a bunch of episodes at one time while we eat dinner. I knew my boyfriend was the one for me when he suggested we watch jeopardy for the first time 🙂
Rebecca @ Miss Magnolia Munches & Moves says
I love jeporday. I always say its a good night if I am home in time (6:30) to catch jeporady. It’s so random though; some nights I know all the answers and some nights make me feel stupid!
Jill says
My sister was on Jeopardy! just over a month ago. If you saw the video where a contestant guessed “Donkey Punch,” she was the female contestant that day! It was so exciting to watch her compete 🙂
Corrie Anne says
Oh! I TOTALLY saw that!!!
Corrie Anne says
I <3 both Jeopardy and quinoa. Yay.
Amber K says
After being forced to watch Jeopardy every single night as a kid, I cringe if I even hear Alex Trebek’s voice. I could never get the answers anyway, unless it was kids. I always prayed it was kids weeks! Then I could at least pretend like I cared, lol.
Roz @ Fit Blogging for Fun, Family & Profit says
I used to love Jeopardy in while I was in high school and college…that was because I learned most of the stuff they go over and could answer the questions. However being out of school for over 10 years now my knowledge of all things covered on Jeopardy has quite dissipated lol!
Ashley says
Those are great. I’m in love with Jeopardy.. especially when I answer more questions correctly than the boyfriend does! 🙂
Chelsea C. says
This made me think of you/this post! haha at least this is how i feel when I watch Jaopardy: http://whatshouldwecallme.tumblr.com/post/18920836989/watching-a-tv-game-show-and-getting-one-answer-right

A further issue is that video gaming became one of the all-time largest forms of fun
for people of any age. Kids play video games, plus adults do,
too. The actual XBox 360 is just about the favorite gaming systems for people who love to have hundreds of activities available to them, along with who like to play
live with other individuals all over the world. Thank you for sharing your thinking.
