Good morning!
I arrived back in Ocala after a long drive in the rain last night.
Apparently my mom’s door sign habits that I also picked up are now rubbing off on Ryan! (I laughed out loud at the “both of you” part of his sign. He said it was to avoid any confusion. Sadie and I are apparently rather competitive when it comes to Ryan’s affection.)
What was supposed to be a two hour drive back to Ocala yesterday became a three hour drive thanks to thunderstorms and insane traffic. The pitter patter of the rain made sleeping last night feel extra cozy though, so that’s a plus!
Workout
Today’s workout concentrated on core and shoulders. I loosely followed the shoulders and abs workout from day 19 of the LiveFit program, but swapped out about half of the exercises for different shoulder and abdominal exercises. I also spent 25 minutes on the elliptical while flipping through a magazine.
It felt good to sweat!
Breakfast
Breakfast this morning used whatever I could rummage up in the fridge and pantry, which meant scrambled eggs with cheese and some chopped veggies that were about to go bad.
I also toasted a sweet wheat Alternative Bagel and topped it with a smear of whipped butter.
If you’re in the market for a bagel that isn’t as huge as a regular bagel, but still nice and thick, Alternative Bagels rock! They’re a bit smaller and have 110 calories each, but still have that bagel feel that some of the bagel thins seem to lack. (I buy mine at Publix.)
I made my scrambled eggs with three eggs, a splash of milk, shredded mozzarella cheese, peppers and onions. Tasty!
Then it was time to try my new peanut buttercup coffee.
Topped with foam, of course!
The verdict? I wish it was a bit more peanut buttery, but that’s really no surprise.
As I’ve said before, it typically takes me a few times of trying new flavored coffee to really fall in love with a new flavor because I always seem to have some taste expectations in my head. It was definitely good, but I think it will grow on me as I continue to drink it.
Time to take Sadie on a walk!
It’s still awfully wet outside which means that the princess will sniff her little heart out.
Sadie’s sniffing intensity always seems to multiply by 1,000 after the rain, so she’s going to have a field day this morning.
See ya after lunch!
Breakfast looks good!! That sign is funny!!
I’m going to try to find that Alternative Bagel at our local grocery store! Now you have me craving scrambled eggs for breakfast 🙂
Haha love the sign! I just rained here too and Teddy also sniffs 10 times more after rain!
Def going to try those bagels…. sad about your coffee! I am actually heading to Marylou’s to treat myself to a peanut butter wonderful coffee today…. be jealous!
I wish I liked flavored coffee, they all sound so good but I always end up hating them, no matter what flavor!
Thanks for helping me decide what to make for dinner right now…scrambled eggs it is :)!
Um, that sign is ADORABLE. Haha. Clearly, there’s some competition for “leading lady” in the household. 😉
I love Alternative Bagels and just bought the cinnamon spice for the first time! They are super yummy with a little peanut butter spread on top!
Awww what a cute and sweet note.
I get mine at Wal-Mart! They are refrigerated bagels and can be found near the cream cheese.
i’d love to try out those alternative bagels! now i just need to find some since we don’t have publix out here… and the more peanut butter-y, the better, right? 😉 you could always melt a little extra peanut butter and add it in the coffee! i’m sure that’d be delicious!
Awww, Ryan is so cute! Like Sadie can read the sign 🙂
Any idea where to get Alternative Bagels online?! I’m in the Northeast and don’t have Publix…
sometimes i expect my coffee to taste like hot chocolate, or the flavored coffee from coffee shops that have like 10 syrups in them and tons of cream. then I realize that it’s just flavored coffee, calorie-free, and that it will taste nothing like the sugary goodness I pay for at the shops. le sigh.
ive been having some major flavor coffee letdown lately. i think i have too high expectations for it and then its just like, blah. tough life, i know.
I feel the same way. Ah, first world problems haha
I love Alternative bagels! They really are a great swap for some of the thicker and not so healthy bagels out there. I never feel bad eating them. And I definitely need to try this coffee!!
Those eggs look so delicious!! It’s sad the coffee isn’t more peanut buttery. You should just add a nice dollop to your cup! lol
you’ve got me craving eggs all over again 🙂 Love all the veggies you added in there!
Need to find that peanut butter coffee asap!
After reading that the pb cup coffee was limited time, I dropped by Fresh Market after work and got it. I was so excited to try it this morning, and you’re right…very faint taste of peanut butter. It wasn’t anything different from what I’ve had before, so it was a tad disappointing. I’m not sure it was worth $12. Oh well!
I like sleeping when it’s raining outside too – there’s something very cozy about being warm and snuggly when the weather’s bad!
Thats funny how sadie likes to sniff a lot more after the rain! I wonder what thats all about? Flavored coffee and I have some weird expectations. I expect it to be a different taste when in reality I just smell the taste rather than taste it. Weird huh? Have a great day! 🙂
That note is so adorable!
Since it was you who brought me my beloved egg sandwich with cheese and jelly, I thought I’d share how to kick it up even another notch. I made it today on Thomas’ corn english muffin. OMG, the corn adds such an amazing flavor to the already amazing flavor. Give it a try!
Haha, awww that sign is so cute! After an extra long drive, it’s good that you had something to make you laugh 🙂 I’m thinking about picking up some of that coffee for myself… it sounds too good to pass up. I hope the flavor grows on you and you really love it!
That note is adorable! I am a note-leaver too, hopefully it rubs off and Milo and I get some notes someday 🙂
Oh yes – the after-rain ‘Zoomie-Zoomies’! LOL. That’s what my hubby and I call it when we take our dog out after it’s rained. He goes insane too! All those new fresh smells! He also gets the Zoomie-Zoomies after he does his #2 business, but I digress. ;p
hey julie!
how do you make the foam for your coffee??
I sometimes use a french press… i warm up the milk, put it in the french press and then push the handle up and down and it becomes nice and frothy 😀 i wish i had a milk steamer though.. thats the best!
I love finding notes like that. My fiance would leave me notes under my pillow when he would go out of town for a while and I would rush home to see the! So cute!!
You are right the bagel thins are way too thin! Ha they are good for breakfast sandwhiches but when I just want a bagel with Pb I need some substance!
That is so sweet… what a wonderful welcome home!! When my hubs and I were dating, he used to write me the sweetest love notes. Now he tells me, “The wooing is over… we’re married!” LOL I still need to WOO! 🙂
Haha, my nose must work like Sadie’s cause I love going for a walk when it’s raining at one of my favorite parks. Everything smells so good!
Is it worth buying a bag?
Would you buy this coffee again?
Peanut Buttercup coffee sounds amazing!!!! I always have high hopes for flavored coffee, sometimes a bit too high! I’ve been dying to trying the chocolate glazed donut coffee…I think it’s green mountain brand!
that coffee sounds delish! my mom and i were going to head over there to go to fresh market (it’s the closest thing to our beloved wegmans back in rochester) and of course for some high five froyo, but we’re glad we skipped. the rain is nuts!
Breakfast looks awesome. I wish I were motivated to make myself breakfast every morning, but it’s all I can do eat cereal before starting my day.
hahah love the sign!
Aww that sign is so cute!! What a sweetheart! Also, I’m going to go on a hunt to find that coffee…I’m sure I’ll wish it was more peanut butter-y too, but I’m anxious to test it out!
