Good marnin’! <—Said in my best Irish voice, which is pretty pathetic.
It was a good morning around here because I took a TRX class at my gym, which always leaves me feeling energized and ready to tackle the day.
The TRX class is only 30 minutes long and since it starts at 6 a.m. and Ryan and I arrive at the gym around 5:20, I crammed 30 minutes of cardio in beforehand, split between the elliptical and the treadmill where I did some incline walking.
There were more people in the class than usual, so class participants got into groups of three rather than two and completed two circuits of three different exercises rather than three circuits of two exercises. It was crowded!
Our workout had us complete three sets of the following exercises for 30 seconds:
- Circuit One: TRX Squat Jumps + Alternating Lunges with Bicep Curl + Kneeling on Bosu Ball with Bicep Pulses
- Circuit Two: TRX Hamstring Curls + Push ups + Jumping On and Off Bosu Ball
The class wasn’t as challenging as previous classes, but it was still fun and the pace was nice and fast.
Breakfast
I ate breakfast rather quickly this morning because I can tell today is going to be a hot one and I wanted to take Sadie for her morning walk before the heat rolled in.
Overnight oats: The perfect summer breakfast!
And speaking of summer…

Happy first day of Summer, Julie! As you can see, I DID in fact read your blog talk tuesdays, and converted over to WordPress last night…yay! I’m beyond thrilled w/ the decision and looking forward to doing more as time allows!
As for Summer, I am talking a roadtrip from Seattle to Chicago, and then from Chicago to Southern Indiana for a cousin’s wedding the last week in July/first week in August. I can’t wait! Scott and I love the open road and we will be performing along the way like a traveling band of sorts!
I also have my first photography gig taking pictures at my cousin’s wedding…I can’t wait!!

I’m looking forward to starting my first internship of PT school soon, although I’m also terrified!

I would LOVE to scuba dive in Key West! My parents went to Key West for the first time this past February and said it was so much fun!
My husband and I aren’t taking any big trips this summer, but we do have a ton of things planned–river tubing, kayaking, going to a Brewer’s game with friends–that’s just a few of the things we have to tackle!
Katie @ Peace Love & Oats says
you have quite a summer to look forward to! I don’t have much planned, too hard with working an unpaid internship. But I am going to Healthy Living Summit in August!
Katie says
Sounds like a fun summer! Did you know that today is National Vanilla Milk Shake Day?!?! I know you like me have a serious sweet tooth so I thought I’d pass along yet another reason to celebrate today!

Nothing really related to your post but.. sometimes when you mention taking Sadie on a morning walk I find myself day dreaming about my next trip to Florida. We go in February/March every year to visit my husband’s college advisor. We really do not do much besides have breakfast by the beach, take their dog Molly on walks, and lounge in the hot tub. Although from reading your blog I know that’s not what your life is like but sometimes I picture that it is 🙂
Lisa @ Jogging on Coffee says
I’m really looking forward to my family’s annual camping trip! And I’m going to Iceland in August 🙂
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss says
You forgot the “visit Alyssa in VB” plan. Go edit. Quick.

Two of my good friends are going to be getting married in August in Tampa, so the bf and I are taking a vacation starting in Tampa and then ending up at my parent’s in Delray Beach. I’m so excited! In between we have a couple friends who just had babies, are going to be having babies. So lots of celebrating this summer! 🙂

Random question, but when you make your breakfast sandwich (the one with the english muffins, egg, jelly, and cheese), what kind of english muffins do you use and why do you use muenster cheese as opposed to swiss or anything else? Are there health benefits to that or do you like the taste?
peanutbutterfingers says

I live in New Orleans. You must try a hurricane, a hand grenade, and the local seafood! Serious musts. And if you’re looking for a mufaletta, Central Grocery makes the best, and they’ve been around for forever. We also have drive-thru daiquiris!

My summer is filled with road trips. I will be going east to Nova Scotia to visit friends, west to Niagara Falls to visit family (probably a few times) and north to Pembroke area where we have rented a cottage.

can you replace with the greek yogurt with just regular yogurt? or anything else to give it the same consistency? I really want to like this recipe but I can’t stand the taste of greek yogurt!

First off I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Cheers!
