Today is one of those days for me! I think it’s because I’m so anxious to get off work and head south to my parents’ house for the weekend. Ryan and Sadie are coming with me, and my sister is in town, and I want the fun to begin! C’mon, Time… getta move on!
Snack + Lunch
I thought my sweet potato hash wrap from this morning would have kept me fuller for longer, but I was really hungry within and hour and a half of breakfast. (The lack of protein, maybe?)
I dug into my mid-morning snack a bit early and enjoyed a turkey roll up (turkey + Laughing Cow Swiss cheese + tortilla).
Yum!
When I was filling up my mug with a second up of tea this morning, I noticed something that called to me from the vending machines.
I’m normally not tempted by vending machine treats (perhaps because I never carry cash and rely solely on my credit card?). Today, however, a marketing strategy worked on this Peanut Butter Fingers-loving girl.
I was suckered in by the old “Limited Edition” trick. I rummaged around my purse and found the $.85 needed to purchase a Limited Edition triple chocolate Twix bar. Hey, it could be gone tomorrow, I had to seize the day!
I split the bar with a coworker. We both agreed that it was tasty, but we like original Twix bars better.
After snacking my way through the morning, it was time for lunch!
Hooray!
I had a big ol’ bowl of pasta with carrots, broccoli and cauliflower.
I topped the noodle bowl with Classico four cheese pasta sauce (aka my new favorite!) before sprinkling everything with Parmesan cheese.
Deeelicious!
Weekend Plans and Goals
Immediately after work I am heading to St. Pete for the weekend. Ryan and I are meeting with the catering manager of the Vinoy (where we’re getting married) to begin wedding planning discussions tomorrow morning.
Saturday afternoon we’re meeting with a woman at a nearby restaurant we’re considering for the rehearsal dinner. It’s a wedding-filled weekend!
The GOAL for this weekend is to finalize the guest list so we can send out save the dates! We have 160 people on our list at the moment and are hoping to condense it to around 120… This could get tricky! 😉
If you are married, how did finalizing the guest list go for you?
Jessica @ How Sweet says
I am suckered in with ‘limited edition’ too all the time. Regarding the guest list, we really never did narrow it down. I had a lot more people than my husband did, so it evened out on both sides. But we still had so many people!
Katie @ Health for the Whole Self says
We didn’t have too much trouble finalizing our guest list, but for the first few months after the wedding we kept saying, “oh, I wish we would have invited so-and-so,” or “I can’t believe we didn’t invite this person!”

mmm twix! 🙂 Glad you had a willing coworker to share!

The twix looks amazing! When I was doing my weding list, the caterer told us that usually 10% of the poeple you invite can’t make it. And he was pretty on key. Good Luck

For our guest list, we narrowed it down by not inviting any coworkers unless they were really good friends. Are you shooting to have around 100 attend the wedding? If you are planning on having 120 attend, then you could invite more since there are usually a handful that don’t make it. Another way to cut guest lists down is to not invite kids of families if they aren’t in the wedding and claim is it an adults only atmosphere.
Jess says
I don’t really recommend inviting too many more people than you actually want cause they might all end up coming! our wedding is on 4/24 and we invited 155 people when our max is 150 (due to size of the venue) and there have only been 4 no’s so far (we sent out the invites a month ago)! we still have a couple of weeks until the RSVP’s are officially due but its definitely nerve-wrecking hoping not everyone you invited says they can come. good luck planning!

making the guest list was so difficult for us. My fiance’s parents wanted to invite everyone they knew which we just couldn’t afford.
Here’s how I narrowed our list. Anyone invited to our wedding needed to be a significant person in our lives presently, and someone who we expect to be in our lives in the future.
So, some random collegaues didn’t make the cut. Same for friends I haven’t spoken to in 3 years. It really worked for us.

Good luck with wedding planning! I have bridesmaids duties to attend to this weekend too. Love weddings. Maybe I should be a wedding planner (a la J.Lo) intead of a (wannabe) doctor. haha

i <3 that movie!!

Regarding being hungry soon after breakfast: I definitely think it was the lack of protein, that happens to me when I don’t have any! I think some added egg(s) would give it more staying power!
have fun this weekend! 🙂

Sounds like a great weekend! It’s always great to check things off of the wedding to-do list! Finalizing the guest list is a little tricky. We have such big families that the majority of the list was family. The tiny bit of room left was for really close friends. Good luck!

TWIX is my all time favorite candy bar! I actually saw a peanut butter TWIX the other day and thought of you. haha!!
Whittling down the wedding guest list is tricky!!! I don’t envy you that job this weekend! 🙁
