While I was away on vacation last week, I turned 28! My birthday was on Saturday, but since we were traveling, Ryan saved my gifts for me to open at home when we returned from our trip.
Last night was birthday celebration night in our house!
Check out one of my snazzy gifts:
Pretty sweet, huh!?
Though this may seem like a rather random gift, there’s actually a story behind the pajamas.
When we were in Ireland last March, it was freezing and one night when we were outside walking around, I said, “All I want to do is cuddle up in a pair of ridiculously warm pajamas.”
“The kind with the feet?” Ryan asked.
“YES!” I said. We then went on a mission to find footie pajamas and searched in a handful of department stores with no luck.
Obviously I was pretty darn excited to get a pair of footie pajamas for my birthday… Just in time for summer in Florida. Ha!
Workout
Today’s workout began on the elliptical before I headed into the weight room to complete Workout B from Tina’s Best Body Boot Camp. It felt good to make my muscles burn a bit!
Breakfast
After my time at the gym, I headed home and made myself a breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese, strawberry jelly and Ezekiel toast.
Sweet and savory! I love it!
Now I’m off to work. I am working late today, so I don’t think I’ll have a chance to blog after (or during) lunch, but I’m not sure how lunch breaks work just yet, so we shall see!
Question of the Afternoon
- What is the strangest gift you’ve ever received?
Rachel @ Undercover Diva: A Sitcom says
Happy belated birthday!! My grandma gives us some pretty strange gifts. One year, we all got silk pajamas. One time, I complimented my grandma on her watch and she just took it off and gave it to me. I have footsie pajamas and they’re shark ones… the feet are little sharks and they’re so cute. I love them 😀 For Christmas, we always have crazy PJ night at my Aunt and Uncle’s on Christmas Eve, so I got those jammies for this year.

Happy Birthday!
My husband also turned 28 on Saturday. We celebrated by enjoying the last day of our honeymoon to Hawaii and then flying home in the evening. We took up some of your advice in O’Ahu. Kokohead hard but fun, malasadas yummy, and Wild Side dolphins fantastic!!!

Oh I’m so glad to hear this, Deanne! Isn’t Hawaii AMAZING!? Happy birthday to your husband!

Happy belated birthday! I love those pajamas! Too cute.

Those pajamas are AWESOME. When my partner turned 30 a friend bought him a pair of footy pajamas with dinosaurs all over them. It WAS a Jurassic Park themed surprise party (yes, for a thirty-year-old), so it wasn’t totally random.
The strangest give I’ve ever received is probably a painting of a narwhal dressed as Napolean. It was a White Elephant swap gift at work and now is hanging in my office. I actually kind of love it.

Happy Birthday, and what great pajamas!
My daughter would love one (I’m sure of it!!) – Where can I get one?

Those pajamas look wonderfully warm! I would love a pair. And it’s supposed to SNOW in the Midwest today, so this would actually be good timing 🙂

I love sweet & savory too. I should try your sandwich!
Amanda @ Peanut Butter & Adrenaline says
Hahaha my boyfriend got me footie pajamas for my birthday this year too! He has a pair, and I expressed jealousy over them. They even have a hood!
Lisa @ Live and Be Awesome says
Breakfast looks so yummy! Also, I’m incredibly jealous of your pajamas. I want them!
AJ says
Those are amazing! I love that they are polka dot too! Happy Belated Birthday!!
The strangest gift I have ever received was a pink trash can…but I was SO excited about it. Its a curbside trash can, and it definitely stands out in the neighborhood. The trash collector actually complimented me on it one day! Part of the proceeds support breast cancer too, which makes it extra cool.
