Today has been jam-packed with lots of work at the gym. In between working the morning shift, training clients and teaching group exercise, I managed to find time to complete my own workout and grab a quick lunch.
I was really in the mood to take my workout outside and go for a run during my break, but then I remembered that the humidity and heat in Florida right now would knock me on my butt the minute I stepped out the door. I kept my workout indoors and completed one of Jess’ Summer Shape Up workouts.
After my workout, I trained a client for an hour before heading outside to teach water fitness. It was a sweaty class, but the energy was great!
Lunch
Lunch today began with an apple that I inhaled after class.
I then reheated leftovers from last night’s dinner.
Chicken sausage + Peppers + Onion + Sweet potato
I spent a little more time at the gym before calling it a day and heading home. I was still hungry, so I poured myself a bowl of cereal to help satisfy my appetite.
Much better.
And now it’s time to think about dinner!
Enjoy your evening!

I live in Orlando and cannot believe how humid it is outside already. Even a morning run now see temperatures in the 80s. Crazy! Working out indoors (at the UCF gym) is such a bonus when living in steamy Florida.

Outside has been so GLOOMY out here in SOCAL! I am not wanting to get outdoors but doing so as long as I can bring my dogs on a walk 🙂 Cereal is my cure all as well 🙂 Love + Shine CourtStar

That doesn’t happen to be the new Vanilla Chex cereal, is it? If not, you should definitely try it! It is tasty!

We have the opposite problem here in Australia at the moment. It is too cold, windy and raining to workout outside!

Cereal is my go-to afternoon hunger killer! Can never get tired of some cornflakes/wheat chex and milk. 🙂

I swear we are food twins! I love getting inspiration from your recipes, but this time was a coincidence 😉

What kind of chicken sausage do you use? I’m a fellow Publix shopper but haven’t ventured to the sausage realm yet haha…. Love your blog btw!

Cereal is the best post-meal mini meal 🙂

I understand about the heat and humidity! i have been having to get up super early before the heat kicks in to get my runs in – so worth it though!
Christine@ Apple of My Eye says
I always get so frustrated when I get the urge to run and can’t because of the heat!
Eats are looking great. I’m impressed that you’re able to get yourself to work out even after being in the gym all day!

Does teaching a group class give you a workout equivalent as taking one?
Kristi says
We’ve had pretty good weather. It’s been hot, and it’s been humid, but it’s perfect for pool time.

I love leftovers! Looks like a packed day for you. I can totally relate to the humidity, it’s killing me too!

Now that you are working at the gym, are you also exercising a lot more than before?

I love running outside so much, but the humidity here is the same way. I swear you can watch the air condense on your skin when you just walk out the door!!

Here in Michigan we’ve been having ‘dry heat’. The humidity has finally gone down, but it feels like an oven every time you walk outside. Sadly enough, I’m looking forward to the weekend when it’s suppose to be 75 degrees. I much prefer the winter over the summer!!!! In the summer, there’s only so many layers of clothes you can take off before it becomes indecent exposure!
By the way, I’ve been searching your blog, are there any good beginners’ work out DVDs that you would recommend? I’m currently using the Jullian Michael’s 30 Day Shred DVD.
Annette@FitnessPerks says
Dry heat is so much better than humidity heat, for sure! What a jampacked day you had!
Lauren Williams says
The humidity is crazy in Nebraska too! Any run that you do outside is a “detox” session too 😉

I live in Florida, too!! And I have been finding that the humidity and HEAT is literally sucking the energy out of me!! For the past 2 days…I felt like I was barely making it through my WODs at my CF box!! DO you have any suggestions about pre-work out foods/snacks??
Thanks!!!

The weather has been crazy lately where I live. It’s super hot, and yesterday on my way home from work it was sunny, then it poured rain, then it got sunny again, and then poured. This continued my entire drive. It was so strange!
