Good morning!
I arrived in back in Ocala Friday evening after one heck of an incredible trip to Quebec. (I still owe you guys recaps from the final two days!) Ryan and I had a great weekend together and it feels so good to be reunited with my little family again.
I wasn’t in the mood to do anything on Friday night, so we hung out at home, grilled dinner outside and played with Sadie in the backyard. It was perfect!
Naturally Sadie reveled in the attention.
Now that I think about it, this weekend was a pretty great one for Miss Sadie. On Saturday we took her to the dog park for lots of playtime before the thunderstorms rolled in. She even got to meet Shadow from Homeward Bound!
Okay, so it wasn’t the Shadow. I mean the Shadow would never try to smell Sadie’s hiney. He’s much too refined.
A little side note for all of my fellow Homeward Bound fans out there: You might enjoy this funny video of a pug watching the end of the movie. He’s clearly rooting for the safe return of all of Sassy, Chance and Shadow, too! So cute.
On Saturday night, Ryan and I joined our friends for a happenin’ evening at the bowling alley.
That is my wildly unattractive Tuna Melts My Heart face. (Please tell me every single one of you are following that dog on Instagram. Tuna Melts My Heart = My favorite Instagram account by a mile.)
On Sunday, after church, Ryan, Sadie and I drove out to discover a new hiking trail located about an hour away from our house in the Withlacoochee state forest. <— Phenomenal name for a state forest, right?
We ended up hiking for much longer than we anticipated and covered just shy of nine miles in three hours. We were pooped by the time we got home and spent the rest of the evening on the couch. It was a perfect Sunday!
Question of the Morning
- Tell me one highlight from your weekend!

Tha Pug video is amazing. I had to share it on Facebook. Animals melt my heart, truly.
The biggest part of my weekend was the arrival of my grandpa for a three week visit. He’s recently retired, and I think he’s gonna be making the kid rounds (starting here to visit my dad, his son, and maybe later to go visit my aunt in Florida). It’s been nice having him around. 🙂

Oh man! Seeing all the fun you two have with Sadie makes me want a dog. Looks like Sadie got spoiled and had a blast.

Sadie is so cute! I actually got to spend a lot of time with my parents’ dog, who I consider my dog. She’s a border collie and is basically my favorite thing in the world!

That’s a face only a mother could love. Haha, just kidding! This weekend I got to run the Color Me Rad race AND go hiking. The weather is perfect fall weather here in NH!

We love going bowling with friends! (I am pretty awful too – but for some reason I still think it’s fun lol) We went to a baseball game Sunday with our kids and we had a blast – a definite highlight of our weekend!

My vizsla ask the same way when a dog tries to smell her! So funny! Does Sadie makes this high pitch bark noise when she is excited?

Why do you have to post such cute dog photos? And link to the most adorable dog on instagram ever? I want my dog by my side now! 🙁 Must make it to the weekend when I go home from school!

Totally my kind of weekend. We have two dogs (weimaraner and black lab) so I know how much the “toddles” as we call them, love their long dog-centered weekends. I think us humans love it just as much 🙂 And the name of that park…areyoukiddingme?! Hilarious. Hope it’s been a great week!
