I’ve been a fan of tuna salad for years. The tuna salad sandwiches I would pack for lunch as a kid would always gross out my friend Michaela (she’d call them “kitty chow”), but a little tuna ridicule couldn’t sway me away from my favorite sandwich.
To this day, tuna salad is still one of my favorite midday meals, but now I try to get a little more creative with it and typically don’t measure anything when I whip it up. Well, last week, I made a version of tuna salad with curry that was so darn delicious that I figured I would measure everything out today so I could share it with you guys.
If you love tuna salad and curry, I think this will be right up your alley.

I am actually not a huge tuna fan! Something about meat from a can weirds me out- however this looks delicious and I think would be so good with grilled chicken also!
Renee @ Bendiful Blog says
Tuna or chicken salad yes…. egg salad ewww NO! My husband loves egg salad and even though I LOVE eggs I find egg salad repulsive…weird right?
Sydney @ Project Sydney says
I am the same way! I could eat hard boiled eggs every day but egg salad..yuck!
Sabrina says

I love tuna salad! This looks like a fun twist!
Fiona @ Get Fit Fiona says
I went through a phase of eating way too much tuna, so now I can only eat it once in awhile. My favorite of the three is probably chicken salad.
Megan Ebel says
Haha kitty chow! Every once in a while I’ll crave chicken or tuna salad. I use to work at a coffee shop that also put curry in their tuna salad along with sliced up canned pears- sounds kind of weird, but it was so good!
runninginscrubs says
Haha just wait until August, that’s when NC really heats up!
Kristin@Dietitian's Corner says
I’m really not a fan of tuna salad, but that looks really good! Enjoy the heat 🙂
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
Sounds delicious! I’ve been on a tuna/chicken/egg salad kick lately since it’s been so hot here in AZ too. The various salads are cool & refreshing, don’t heat up the house, and taste delicious on a sandwich, on their own, or on top of a bed of greens. Needless to say, they’re perfect for hot summer days. Definitely going to have to try this version of tuna salad!

i do like tuna and chicken salad! egg salad …. not so much! i never make tuna salad though but this recipe looks great!
Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat says
Ooh yes big tuna salad fan over here! I make a very similar version that also contains greek yogurt and curry powder, along with some chili powder and a little bit of mango chutney for a spicy-sweet flavour. Like you, I loved tuna as a kid but some of my friends did not! Why is it that some of the best things like tuna and egg salad have to have such strong smells!? 🙂
Brittany says
I’m all about the curried tuna salads. I also like curried egg salad. Both may smell a bit I love em’. My new favorite is using baked sweet potato mashed in my tuna salad. It’s so good.
Brynn says
I don’t care for mayo-based salads so I make my tuna sandwiches with mustard or some avocado!
Tory says
The last time I made tuna I considered adding curry powder, but was afraid it would taste too weird. Definitely going to try this next time I make some!!
Veronica says
I am not a fan of any of those salads, although I do know what you mean with eating something cold on a hot day.. Sometimes you just need something refreshing! I usually make myself a wrap. I may have to try this though with chicken.
cantsintocansamy says
I love tuna salad, but have never tried with curry. I usually stick with my usual recipe, as I put pickles in it and I love pickles, but perhaps your pictures can convince me to try this one. 🙂
Julie says
I put pickles in my tuna salad most of the time, too. 🙂
ranchcookie says
Oh yum! I love tuna! It is my go to on these hot and humid days as well! I like to just dump mine in a salad and mix it up but adding a little mustard is definitely mandatory haha
The Snacks of Life says
I LOVE tuna salad! I made some myself just the other day and I love using plain greek yogurt rather than mayo! (mayo doesn’t always sit well with me) I’ll have to try this recipe out! I felt the same way today, Arkansas is H-O-T so every meal I’ve had today has been something cold!
Lisa says
Love all 3!!
melaniem49 says
I love all of the above! 😉 Chicken salad is probably my favorite.
Shannon says
I love egg salad, but I prefer just regular ole tuna! I’m on a big chicken salad kick now too, since I’ve found a recipe using only a little mayo & some greek yogurt. So delicious!

Every now and then I can do tuna, but not often as I hate how the smell lingers! The taste is good though! I do dig chicken salad and have a great recipe for curry chicken salad that I use often. So good! My husband eat a lot of tuna and loves curry so I will definitely have to try making this for him!
Rachel @ Blonde with a Chanse says

This looks SO good! Reminds me of a chicken salad I’ve made before with curry and cream cheese (I know, but it works!), cranberries, walnuts, celery, red onion, and a few other goodies. Definitely a salad that keeps me full and makes me want seconds. 🙂
Gabriella says
Oohhh! This is great because I don’t like mayo – greek yogurt is a perfect substitute! My mom adds curry powder to egg salad, which makes it so much more tolerable for me. Definitely going to try out your recipe 😉
