Good morning and Happy Monday! I hope all is well in your neck of the woods!
This weekend passed by in a flash. Ryan and I spent most of our time around the house – assembling a changing table/dresser for the nursery, sitting on the backyard swing enjoying the beautiful weather, picking up around the house and hosting a casual Easter cookout with friends!
Easter was definitely the highlight of our weekend and though we weren’t able to spend the holiday at my mother-in-law’s like we’ve done for the past 11 years, we still had a great time on our own during our last Easter as a twosome (well, threesome since I suppose we could count Sadie, right!?).

At around 1 p.m., we had friends over and spent the next 6+ hours eating, chatting, grilling outside, decorating eggs and hanging out.
Before the fun began, I changed into my gray “bump shirt” so Ryan could snap a quick 22-week baby bump photo!
(For those who have asked, I bought this stretchy gray shirt years ago at Marshalls and couldn’t find it online. The tag says the brand is Storm. Wish I could be of more help!)
With bump pics out of the way, we were ready for our guests and immediately dug into the cheese and crackers our friends Kevin and Chandra brought with them after they arrived. A little more than an hour later our stomachs told us it was time for a more substantial meal and we took our party to the backyard where Ryan was in charge of grilling up some hot dogs, chicken sausages, hamburgers and veggie kebabs.
It didn’t take long for the food to be ready and we all filled our plates with yummy favorites.
I prepared a batch of my favorite pasta salad (<—oh heeey 2009 blog post!), a broccoli slaw salad, baked beans (from a can – no shame) and an Oreo pie ahead of time which made it easy to bring everything out to serve once we were ready to eat.
We ate outside since our Easter weather was gorgeous and I just loved soaking up some sunshine!
In the early evening, we came back indoors because it was time to decorate some eggs. I haven’t dyed Easter eggs in years but my friend Chandra brought two kits with her and we couldn’t resist getting a little creative…
None of us were too proud of our eggs in the end but we had to laugh at some of the less-than-beautiful eggs that the guys created.
They said they wanted their eggs to have a “prehistoric” look – mission accomplished! Haha!
Clearly we all need to brush up on our Easter egg dyeing skills before next year…

Just a day, because puppies are actually exhausting and bite and don’t sleep through the night. HAHA, I love vizsla pups but so glad my Brooks is a full grown dog!

Love the puppy pictures! I’m jealous you got to eat outside. It was snowing for our Easter and my niece was so upset because she thought the Easter bunny wouldn’t be able to make it.

My husband is gone for work so much that I’ve been taking bump shots on my own, they never turn out as good as yours!

Dying waster eggs as a group sounds like so much fun regardless of how they turned our! I am impressed that the guys cooperated!
How nice that the weather was just right for eating outdoors! My husband and I had a little Easter feast, and we had our doors open to let the cool air in. It was also pretty nice in the Bay Area after a morning rain-storm. Happy Monday, Julie! 🙂

What a fun Easter weekend. The weather was gorgeous spring weather and I tried to soak up every minute outdoors I could! Baby puppy pictures are the best! I wish I would have snapped more pics of our pup when he was little.
Looks like a great Easter! I bought myself a bunch of flowers bc whenever the weather gets warm I usually add that to my weekly shopping list. They make me happy so I will buy them all the time!
