Good morning to you! I cannot believe it’s almost Friday. When visitors are in town, time seems to fly by. It’s been so nice having my mom here all week! We were crazy-productive yesterday and spent hours and hours organizing the nursery. Stay tuned for a nursery tour next week!
My mom will be leaving this morning when I head off to the gym to teach and I’m already sad about her departure. She has been incredibly helpful with everything baby-related and her nursing background makes her awesome at answering just about every question I throw her way.
We wanted to do something a little more fun for my mom’s final night in North Carolina yesterday and decided an evening boat ride would be a nice way to cap off the day. Of course Sadie was more than game and joined us for some time on the water and an evening swim in the lake.
With temperatures holding steady in the upper 90s in Charlotte, it seems like most people are limiting time outdoors to water-related activities. Every pool and splash pad I’ve driven past has been hoppin’!
Today
This morning I opened up the fridge after I woke up in search of some breakfast inspiration. I saw a handful of hardboiled eggs that needed to be used and put together an egg salad sandwich for my morning meal.
I almost made it on a toasted English muffin to make it feel a little more “breakfasty” but when you have a loaf of fresh bakery bread on hand, you gotta use it, right!?
It was a bit of an odd breakfast, but I am loving sandwiches of any kind right now, so it worked.
Now it’s time for me to change before I’m off to hug my mom goodbye and head to the gym to teach. I’ll see you guys later this afternoon!

Sadie is so cute in her life vest!
I’m sure your mom has been super helpful! It’s always nice to be able to pick some else’s brain who gets it. Can’t wait for the nersury tour!

You are reminding me of the episode of Friends when Phoebe was pregnant. She was obsessed with sandwiches! Can’t wait to see the nursery.
Julie says
LOVE sandwiches right now!! I made a sandwich for lunch, my afternoon snack AND dinner yesterday!
Suzanne @ Life is a Mix says
Saying goodbye to your mom will be hard, I’m sure. Just think, all too soon you will be introducing her to your new baby boy!
I always got the most excited when it was time to out away all the shower gifts and organize the nursery. Getting the room ready for the baby just makes it all that much more real.
Linz @ Itz Linz says
i only hang a few things of william’s …. drawers are so much easier for me haha can’t wait to see the whole nursery!
Julie says
I am sure I’ll be making adjustments once our little one arrives! We actually have nothing in two of the three dresser drawers in the nursery right now because I’m not sure what I will want where just yet.
Julie @ Running in a Skirt says
Look at all those cute baby clothes!!! Sooooo much cuteness!!!!!!
I’m all about a sandwich now too. I keep craving tuna fish.
Jamie says
I’ve been eating such weird breakfasts lately. Usually they’re more of “lunch” meals – fresh veggies and tuna, and then I have my typical breakfast – eggs and a smoothie, for dinner. Somewhat backwards but it hits the spot!
Torry @ A World Without Wheat says
I cannot wait to see the nursery – I know it is going to be so cute!
Brittany @ Lemon Lime Life says
Having your mom there must have been amazing, especially with the first grandbaby on the way!
I can’t wait to see the nursery tour! These little sneak peeks have been holding me over for now, but I think we’re all ready to see the entire room!
Annette Perkins (@FitnessPerks) says
I can already tell from that one photo that you guys were productive –looks so organized!!
Have a fun class 🙂
Erin @ Her Heartland Soul says
I am now craving an egg salad sandwich!! Is it lunch time yet?
Nilda says
The closet looks great. FYI the Baby Einstein music toy I see there, is a life saver for us. We have used it since my little man was a few weeks old. The lights would distract him during diaper changes and the music would calm him. Now at ten months, it’s still one of his favorite toys! It’s my go to shower gift.
Julie says
It was a gift from a friend who also told me it was a lifesaver for her, too! Hoping our little one loves it just as much!
jan klein says
Like my grandfather used to say…Anything that’s good enough to eat any other time of the day, is good enough to eat for breakfast. Bring on the egg salad!
Courtney says
Hahaha I love this!!

Wow you’ve so many clothes for him already! Super organised! My friend had everything but NO clothes! Left me with something to buy for her at least!
Julie says
I’ve actually only purchased three clothing items for our little guy! People seem to love gifting clothes over here!
Laur says
You would think with the heat and sweating you wouldn’t want anything but watermelon! I’m surprised along with watermelon, you want sandwiches! I’m the same way, though. It’s so hot here and all I want is macaroni and cheese or waffles/pancakes (with ice cream ;)!

How do you make your egg salad? Looks yummy!
Jess says
I was reading a Bark Post and saw Sadie! I recognized that cute face before I even saw your name =)
Lindsey says
I love the Carolina Hurricanes monkey! I grew up in Raleigh and when I go home to visit during hockey season we go to games! They are a lot of fun if you ever get the chance to go! 🙂
Amanda @ Slimplify Life says
Baby clothes are everyyyyything oh my goodness just too cute!!! Have a wonderful night!!
Lindsay says
I rarely comment, but I noticed the little toy still in its packaging on the shelf in your nursery and that is the BEST toy ever! Seriously. My son has loved that toy since he was about 10 months old – he is 17 months now. He has played the music so many times that it needs a new battery. It actually stays in my car bc it is the perfect car ride entertainment for him 🙂

One thing I learned while organizing the nursery for my daughter was to not wash anything until she was moving into that size. Some babies grow really fast and some grow slowly. My sis in law wasn’t able to use so many adorable clothes for my nephew because she washed everything as she got it. He flew threw all little sizes and she couldn’t exchange anything.

omg. I think I’m due before you and my nursery isn’t even anywhere close to looking like a nursery! it still looks like a baby product storage unit!!! I need to get on it! can’t wait to see your tour!
