Good morning and happy, happy Friday to my favorite internet friends! I hope your day is going well so far and that you have some fun and relaxing plans on your agenda for the weekend ahead. Ryan and I will be visiting our friends Melissa and Jarian and their new baby on Saturday and I cannot wait to see our little boys together for the first time. Other than that, we’ll be laying low and hopefully spending time relaxing and catching up on the sleep that was quite elusive this week thanks to Mr. Chase.
And now it’s time for your usual Things I’m Loving Friday blog post where we all chat about what we’re loving most each week. Today’s roundup also includes a giveaway, so be sure to be on the lookout for that below! Have a great weekend!
Things I’m Loving Friday
- Candy Corn Kettle Corn
It’s baaack!!! I’m pretty sure I ate a billion bags of this stuff all by myself last fall and now that my beloved candy corn kettle corn is available again, I have a feeling this year will be no different. I love it so darn much. Kettle corn is one of my all-time favorite foods and the drizzle on Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop candy corn kettle corn is way too delicious. It’s not obnoxiously sweet (like real candy corn) but it is incredibly addicting. Get in mah belly! (FYI, we got this bag at Fresh Market this week, but I saw it at Target all the time last year.)
I bought this Tuffo water resistant outdoor blanket on sale through Zulily when I was pregnant after I saw my friend Brittany break one out at a local park when we were hanging out with her two girls. It seemed so versatile and perfect for picnics, playtime, lounging, etc. I knew I had to have one for Chase and we’ve been putting it to good use in our backyard and at a local park when Ryan and I take Sadie for an evening round of fetch after dinner. I love the way it folds up into a little bag with a handle, making it easy to transport anywhere.
- SICK Bags (+ Giveaway!)
How gorgeous is this bag!? SICK bags are beautiful vegan-leather totes created by Silvie, a mother of two, who was determined to create a sturdy yet sophisticated carryall tote for women while raising awareness and money for children’s illnesses. A portion from the sale of each SICK bag is donated to leading children’s hospitals committed to preventing and finding cures for pediatric ailments. They also keep donations local so when you buy a SICK bag, money is donated to a hospital in your area.
The sleek totes are large without being cumbersome and have room for everything from a laptop and a change of clothes for your little one to diapers, a small blanket and toys. The interior is playful and the designs were created by illustrator Peter M. Clark who translated the symptoms of streptoccocus, E. coli, and coxsackie into whimsical doodles.
The entire tote can also be wiped clean with a cloth, so you don’t have to worry about messing it up with a leaky water bottle or snacks. I absolutely love my light gray coxsackie bag and have been using the interior pouch that comes with every bag for my keys and card case and also as a small wristlet when I don’t need to carry the larger tote with me.
I am excited to offer a giveaway for one of these gorgeous bags to you guys today! To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment on this blog post telling me what color bag you would like: Black, charcoal or light gray! I will randomly select a winner next Friday.
When I was a little girl, my mom, sister and I sang all sorts of children’s songs together. Now that I have a baby of my own, I find myself singing to Chase constantly and the songs that pop in my head are always so darn random. (I laughed out loud the other day when Ryan was singing Vengaboy’s “We Like To Party” to him.) This song book is fantastic and does a great job of refreshing my memory on some of my favorite childhood songs. I’m having a blast remembering old favorites and singing to Chase before he’s old enough to tell me to knock it off.
Last weekend my sister was in a car accident. Leslie is thankfully completely fine but the whole incident was a bit scary. She was rear-ended and ended up having to break the couple who hit her car out of their car while it was smoking. (No fire occurred, but they were all very worried.) Leslie fortunately had a Life Hammer tool stashed in her car for emergency situations and was able to break them out. When firemen arrived on the scene, they told my sister and the couple involved in the accident about a keychain version window breaker tool they highly recommend people keep in their car for safety and situations like the one Leslie and the couple found themselves in on Sunday. I wanted to pass this along to you guys as well just in case it’s of interest to you for your personal safety. We all ordered the tool for $10 on Amazon and you may find it here. Drive safe!
