If you have access to the internet and read fitness or fashion blogs that frequently highlight workout apparel, you are probably already well aware of the amazing deal currently offered by Victoria’s Secret…
Buy one sports bra, get a pair of workout bottoms for FREE with the code GIFTSPORT.
Pretty awesome, right!? I couldn’t help but take advantage of the deal when it first debuted online on Thursday and am waiting for another one of their sports bras and workout capris to arrive on my doorstep!
Just in case you have yet to do a little shopping of your own on the Victoria’s Secret website, I’m hoping the review I promised you guys last week of some of their athletic apparel will help give you a little insight into the apparel. (FYI, the current deal is valid through today online and in stores through January 14.)
In full transparency I was given a stipend which covered the Knockout Capris and one of the sports bras you see reviewed below but other items you see in this post were purchased by me simply because I fell in love with them and cannot be trusted around adorable workout apparel.
Let’s get to it!
Victoria’s Secret Sport Review
Let’s start with their leggings since I basically live in leggings all day every day. As I’m sure my fellow fitness lovers can attest, not all workout leggings are created equal but thankfully these leggings are created better. The smoothing, sweat-wicking fabric is incredibly flattering and the waistband hugs your body without digging into your sides.
I would truthfully rank these capris right up there with top-tier fitness apparel brands. I loved them so much that I ended up buying another sports bra just so I could get another pair of these for free last Thursday when this sale first launched. So far they’ve held up well in the wash (I air dry all of my leggings, so I can’t speak to the effect of the dryer on them) and continue to work well from a functional standpoint (they stay up + don’t make me feel overheated + aren’t see-through).
This review is a little trickier because there is one very important component: You must get the right size. Victoria’s Secret is known for their bras (and the vast majority of my everyday bras come from them!), so parlaying their bra expertise into the fitness realm only makes sense, right? This sports bra is one of the bras you buy according to your usual bra size (34B, 36C, 34D, etc.) giving it a more customized feel. This is obviously wonderful but apparently my bra size has changed a bit since I began breastfeeding, so at first I wasn’t sold on this bra at all. And then I exchanged it for the right size and was instantly pleased! The wrong size will either leave you overflowing the cups or feeling like your boobs are sinking in, but the right size makes all the difference in the world. (FYI, you can get fitted in the store if you need help determining your correct bra size.)
The cups in the bra add shape (without the annoying inserts!) and the lining is thick enough to keep things modest when the headlights might be on. It’s supportive enough for me (I am currently a B cup), though I could see women with a larger chest desiring more support, so I’d probably steer you in another direction if that is you! The strappy detailing and mint green coloring are ultra feminine and just plain pretty.
- The Player Sports Bra
This sports bra is a classic. With a traditional racerback and snug fit, it’s very supportive (I wore it during two boot camp workouts that involved jump rope and high knees!) and I adore the neon color and thick branded band. I’d share a picture of me in it, but without a lining on this bad boy, I think you’d catch a glimpse of a little more than you bargained for with this one! I’ve been wearing it with flowy tanks so I don’t mind the lack of lining and find myself reaching for this bra again and again. You can’t beat a classic! This one also no longer appears to be online, but I saw it for sale in the store over the holidays in a variety of colors.
I ordered this tank online when it was on clearance (this was one of the items I personally paid for) and it’s quickly becoming one of my go-to workout tops. It’s a fantastic workout staple available at an affordable price point ($27) and the sweat-wicking fabric keeps me cool and dry. I want to order it in the mint green, too, but unfortunately they are sold out. I’m keeping my eyes peeled! Also, for my fellow long-torso ladies, this one is a winner and doesn’t hit the body at an awkward point. Long tops for the win!
- Victoria’s Secret Sport Pullover
This is another item I purchased in the store over the holidays. I found it on the clearance rack (it was the last one) and felt like I totally hit the jackpot! Pullovers are my BFF during the colder months but this one avoids looking frumpy thanks to mesh detailing and a fun cut out in the back that’s perfect for showing off a funky sports bra. I’m bummed it’s not offered online, but The Player Long Sleeve Tee with a mesh back is somewhat similar. I love this top and will definitely let you guys know if I ever see it for sale online or in the store since a bunch of you seemed to love it when I first posted pics of this pullover last Wednesday.
And there you have it! A lil’ rundown of the most recent VSX apparel I had the chance to try this month! Hope you guys enjoy your Sunday!
Question of the Day
- Have you ever tried anything from the Victoria’s Secret Sport collection? Thoughts?

Thanks for sharing the code! I just went on and bought mine! Too bad they were out of that pattern for the carpi, so I just got black ones.
Julie says
Hope you like them!! The free pair I got with my order last week were mostly black, too, with a purple VSX logo on the leg.

I ordered mine a couple of days ago – it was too good a deal to turn down! Plus, I have a sports bra or two that should probably get tossed…

Thanks for the review! I’ve been wondering about their workout gear. And by the way…you look incredible for just having a baby a few months ago! WOW!

Thanks for the review! I have been interested in all of their workout gear! How do you think they compare to other brands such as lululemon or flabletics?
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner says
I totally jumped on that sale on Thursday! I really wanted the capris you got but they were not available. Oh well!

I’m in Canada so ordering online was not happening with our horrible exchange rate, but luckily the deal was offered in store up here! I got two sports bras (but with more support because these bad boys are just not shrinking since having my son lol) and I also had to get the gym & tonic tank from their Pink line. Unfortunately, I had to get black bras and leggings because they were so picked over, but oh well! It’s been years since I’ve had such a comfy and nice looking sports bra! And I was so impressed with the feel and fit of the leggings!
And LASTLY, haha, you look awesome Julie! 🙂

Did you really just have a baby in July, holy smokes you look great!! (Makes me wish they had Burn Boot Camp around where I live! :-/) Thank you for the heads up, I not only placed an order but also told all my friends about the deal.
Love your blog and look forward to reading it every morning!!

I lived in the Chicago land area when VS fist tried out their VSX in stores back years ago. it was the first work out appeal I ever bought! I still have (and wear at home) two pairs of their old style boot cut pants that I bought in 2010, and they still look brand new! sad to say though they have increased their prices by 100% for the same product now that’s it’s in all stores and online. it’s still my go to for sports bras, and their leggings are up there with lulu’s. great review!

Hi Julie. I just wanted to let readers know that I think those capris are see-through. I tried them on in the store on Thursday when the sale started. I love the pattern and I think they would be fine to run errands in, but you can’t bend over safely in them. I always do a few squats in the fitting room, and that was my experience. I think it is because certain colors/stripes on the pants are lighter.
I found the black and gray to be less see-through and did pick up a pair for myself. I love the fit!

I hope all other new mommas out there don’t see these pictures and feel badly about their own post-baby bodies. Sometimes I wonder if stomach-baring pictures like this are really necessary, or if it might be kinder to keep in mind the feelings of working moms who don’t have the time or money to make it to the gym daily.
Leslie @ flora foodie says
Awesome review, thanks! I keep seeing this sale advertised, but haven’t heard a ton about their workout clothes so I wasn’t sure if it was even worth it! By the way, you look absolutely incredible post-kiddo!!! OMG.

Julie, your post says this deal is good through 1/14 but I just tried it and the site says the offer code has expired. Any tips?
Jocelyn says
Thanks for the review, Julie! Just went out and bought myself the same capris. I love the bright colors and fun patterns!

I saw that sale and almost immediately headed to the mall! What a deal!!

For your larger chested readers, I would recommend the VS Incredible front close sport bra. I purchased one last summer and was hooked. It’s the only sports bra I will buy now. The thicker straps don’t dig into my shoulders. Plus, I always struggled with getting a supportive enough bra over my chest and back off when I was sweaty after the workout. I love the front zip close. I am in the D cup range. I hope this helps someone else. Ever since I got my first one over the summer I’ve been telling all of my larger chested friends, it’s that great.
