Yesterday morning she apparently rolled into what I can only assume was feces of the smelliest animal on the planet so our bath-hating little lady got quite the scrub down. She’s stink-free but we have couch cushions to clean today because she laid all over our couch before we had the chance to clean her. It should make for a rockin’ Friday, don’t you think?
I’m hoping couch cleaning will be the low point of our weekend because we actually have a lot of fun stuff on the agenda. Chase’s BFF’s birthday party is on Saturday and we have dinner plans with friends on Sunday night. We’re hoping to squeeze in some boat time as well.
And now let’s dive into the usual Friday shenanigans around here and chat a little bit about what we’re loving this week, shall we?
Things I’m Loving Friday
-
Stranger Things Season 3
I’m dying to talk about the third season of Stranger Things! Anyone else out there a fan of this show? For me and Ryan, it’s one of “our shows” in that it’s a show we both love equally and get really into so we couldn’t wait for the third season to debut on Netflix earlier this month. We finished up the final episode of the season this week and I was a huge fan! Though the first season is a hard one to top, the third season ranks really high up there for me. I loved the various plot lines, unexpected humor, and the straight-out-of-the-80s outfits, hair, makeup and the MALL. Oh and Dustin. He’s my fav!
How handy is this salad dressing cheat sheet from Cup of Jo via Love and Lemons!? I saved this image to my phone for easy access when I want to make a salad dressing from scratch. I love the beautiful graphic and easy-to-follow dressing recipes. The sesame orange is calling to me!

Pure Aqua Pineapple Strawberry Sparkling Water
My fellow ALDI fans, you have to give this sparkling water a try! It was a random add to an Instacart order a while back and now I’ve been buying it every time I make a trip to ALDI because I love it so much. It tastes like summertime in a can and the pineapple strawberry flavor is strong without overwhelming the sparkling water too much. It’s so refreshing and also tastes great with a splash of vodka if you’re looking for a little buzz!
If you read fashion blogs or follow fashion influencers on Instagram, I’m sure you’re already well aware that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing. Today is actually the first day the sale is open to the public (it opened last week for Nordstrom card holders) so I figured I’d highlight a few items I bought from the sale, a few things I already own and love and a few finds that popped out at me in case you’re hoping to take advantage of the sale this weekend.
MY ORDERS:
- Madewell Slingback Bootie (perfect summer-to-fall transition shoe! This bootie is similar and $15 cheaper but I prefer the lower cut of the Madewell pair I ordered.)
- Zella Live In High Waist Pocket 7/8 Legging (the 7/8 length is my fav and this legging is very smoothing + flattering)
- North Face Fleece Hoodie (because as much as I’d love to get dressed in “real” clothes every day, this cozy fleece falls right into my athleisure wheelhouse)
- Camo Cropped Hoodie (I’m a sucker for anything camo and know I’ll live in this one in the fall/winter)
ITEMS I ALREADY OWN AND LOVE:
- Moonlight Pajamas (hands down the comfiest pjs ever and my go-to gift for women I love — available in short and long)
- Liverpool Pull-On Jeans (I own two pairs of Liverpool pull-on jeans and they’re a DREAM. So stretchy and comfortable and this is coming from someone who typically finds jeans very restrictive and not comfy at all.)
- BP Longline Cardigan (lots of colors — I have the mustard yellow and wore it constantly last fall/winter — see it on here)
- Nike Fleece Hoodie (so cozy and a fall + winter staple for me — see it on here)
- Nike Epic React Running Sneakers (My go-to running shoe)
- Hydro Flask 32-Ounce Water Bottle with Straw Lid (LOVE this color and my Hydro Flasks so much!)
- Zella Live In High Waist Leggings (very smoothing and they hold everything in)
- Barefoot Dreams Cardigan (aka the coziest cardigan that makes it feel like you’re wearing a robe — all the women in my family own this one!)
- Rails Hunter Plaid Shirt (a splurge but I’ve had my Rails plaid shirt for years and quality + material = amazing)
- Hunter Waterproof Rain Boots
- Nike Indy Sports Bra (ideal for small chests that want a little shape with their support)
FITNESS:
- Adidas Edge Lux 3 Sneakers (Love the heathered gray color)
- Zella Fusion Sports Bra (a great high-neck option)
- Sweaty Betty Cropped Racerback Tank
- Nike Free Training Shoe
CLOTHING + SHOES:
- Chambray Shirtdress (would be so cute with a plaid top tied around the waist and ankle booties for the fall)
- Block Heel Bootie
- Denim Skirt (anyone else psyched denim skirts are back in style!?)
- BB Dakota Jumpsuit (classy and absolutely gorgeous — available in three colors but I love the red)
EXTRAS:
- Barefoot Dreams Throw Blanket (the coziest fabric and a great gift idea for the holidays)
- Spinner Luggage Set (majorly coveting the blush pink set)
- Starlight Diffuser (a diffuser that’s actually attractive and not a total eye sore)
- Slip Silk Pillowcase (the anti-aging, anti-sleep crease and anti-bed head pillowcase)
KIDS:
Boys:
- Moto Joggers
- Glow in the Dark Space PJs (I had to get these for Chase!)
- Denim Joggers
- VANS Skate Sneaker
Girls:
- Nike Presto Sneaker (love the bubblegum pink color)
- Denim Jeggings
- Flutter Swing Top (looks like a mini Anthropologie top!)

Question of the Day
What is one thing making you smile today?
Melissa says
I’m right there with you about this week seeming/feeling particularly long! I honestly felt like yesterday was Saturday, for some reason. That sparkling water looks and sounds incredible. I have an Aldi right by me, so I’ll have to pick up some! Thank you for the tip!
Amanda Peterson says
I heard so many people talking about Stranger Things 3 on social media and then Netflix posted that some 82 million households watched season 3 and that was all the convincing I needed to start watching. I’m halfway through season 2. I LOVED season 1! I’m excited to watch season 3 with my hubby who already watched the first two seasons without me.
On another note, I love the cherry lime sparkling water from ALDI. I’ll have to try pineapple strawberry!
Julie says
i liked season 3 a loooot more than season 2 even though all seasons of the show are good. so glad you’re enjoying it too!
Kristen says
As I was reading about the sparkling water from Aldi I was thinking in my head I bet this would go great with vodka. I was surprised to continue reading and that you suggest it does taste good with vodka since you rarely seem to drink!! I’ve been on the hunt for a lighter cocktail so I’m definitely going to try it out! Cheers!

My week was LONG too! Full time work balanced with the aftermath of my 4 yo child bringing home lice (UCK!) after going on a field trip to a petting zoo with daycare. Gross x infinity! My husband was out of town for work and I also have a 1 year old to contend with, who thank goodness did not have it. Needless to say I am smiling because I am back at work all day today and hoping this weekend is calmer.
Julie says
oh my gosh that is a rough week!! i’m so sorry about the lice — that sounds miserable!! sending you good vibes for a much less chaotic weekend!
Theresa says
This season of Stranger Things was fantastic! There were one or two episodes in there that actually had me saying WOW because they were so strong. It’s easy to forget that these are very young kids doing all this incredible acting. I have to admit though that every single season I feel overwhelmed by how MUCH happens in each episode, so I try to space them out and not let myself binge (too much). 🙂
Julie says
yes! those kids are amazing. i also feel like every single episode escalates the plot line so much so it’s definitely a LOT crammed into each episode!
Rachel @ Never Enough Novels says
Thanks for the heads up about the Aldi water! We love sparkling water but haven’t tried their brand yet. Tonight is Aldi pizza night – our Friday tradition!
Summer says
That salad dressing cheat sheet looks great! Am I pretty much the last person on the planet who has never watched an episode of Stranger Things? haha
Melissa says
Love the salad dressing cheat sheet!! I try to make my own dressing as much as I can and this is a great find!!
Torrie @ To Love and To Learn says
I just recently hopped on the flavored sparkling water bandwagon, and I’m obsessed! We actually really like the Clear American brand from Walmart—we’ve loved every flavor we’ve tried.
I’m too much of a wimp to try watching Stranger Things! I can’t handle anything creepy, so I haven’t been brave enough to give it a shot, ha ha. My husband loves it, though!
Elizabeth says
Will the Zella leggings stay up for running? I have trouble with that in leggings often unless I buy them so tight they are uncomfortable.
Kimberly says
One thing I am loving today is that it’s finally Friday!! Long week over here too and I am over it! Hope your weekend is awesome.
Kerry says
I just finished Stranger Things 3 as well. Wow, what great TV! I have had The Neverending Story song in my head for two days now! Hopper forever. 🙂
Ji Hyun says
I love your guide for the Nordstrom sale. With over thousands of items for the sale, sometimes it is overwhelming. However, when it is shortened to one’s style, it makes it so much easier to navigate. Have a great weekend.
Janet Pole says
Stinky ot not, you gotta love Sadie!
Zoe says
I’m excited to try your arm work out. What kind of weights do you suggest using? I’m currently using 8lbs in my routines, but I’m trying to lose fat in my arms and cultivate muscle. Thanks!
Sam says
I just binge watched all three seasons (re-watched one and two) in the last two weeks-ish which is embarrassing to admit. But i loved season three! Molly Bobby Brown is so adorable and I loved her new 80s style. Dustin is my favorite too- he is so freakin adorable. I was surprised by how many times i laughed out loud at such a scary show! Bald-eagle, do you copy?

Kate MCCombs says
What size moonlight pjs do you get? It says they run large- but pjs should be large and baggy!
Julie says
they definitely run big! i got them in a medium b/c i wanted them for postpartum and they were great. still wearing & loving them!! that said, i’d size down if you’re between sizes!
