Remember that time I ate a huge slice of coconut cake for dinner?
In the words of Britney Spears, Oops, I did it again.
Check out tonight’s dinner:
That would be a half-eaten slice of Godiva chocolate cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. I almost ate this lil’ beauty too fast to snap a picture, but I busted out the camera half way through so you guys could ooh and ahh over this deliciousness.
I nabbed this slice of cheesecake at a birthday party for Ryan’s supervisor after work today.
To celebrate his supervisor’s birthday, a big group of people met at Cricketers Arms Pub & Eatery and enjoyed cake, cheesecake and a selection of appetizers.
I enjoyed two pieces of a quesadilla, a mozzarella stick, several chips, many more onion rings that are pictured above and a couple of ribs (unpictured). Healthy options were limited (or completely unavailable), but I’m not gonna lie, I thoroughly enjoyed this greasy bar food!
I’m cuttin’ this post a little short tonight because I still have a lot to do tonight!
Packing is on the agenda for a special trip I have planned for the weekend.
See ya in the morning my friends. 😀
Question of the Evening
Do you ever eat dessert for dinner?
Brittany (A Healthy Slice of Life) says
I love when bloggers show that even the healthiest lifestyles (like yours!) has a little wiggle room in it 🙂
That cheesecake looks amazeballs. And I never say amazeballs. 😉
peanutbutterfingers says
amazeballs. i like it.
BIOCHEMISTA says
Heck yes I do!!!! Sometimes my friends and I go out for “Dinnert”, which is dessert for dinner 🙂 I usually go for a big piece of choc cake + a glass of red wine. Perfection in my opinion 🙂 I also make your protein brownies (well a huge one with PB and ice cream topping) for dinnert quite often 😉
peanutbutterfingers says
i am officially inviting myself to become part of your group of friends. dinnert sounds fantastic!
BIOCHEMISTA says
You are always welcome 🙂 🙂 Anytime you’re in DC, we’ll def go out for Dinnert!
Lizzy @ LBBakes says
Does the sun rise?! Of COURSE I eat dessert for dinner. Actually, Thursday is ice cream for dinner night. 🙂
peanutbutterfingers says
sign me up!
Jessica @ How Sweet says
um ALWAYS.
LOVE that cheesecake!
emily says
Sometimes there seriously isn’t anything more satisfying than eating a Blizzard for dinner 😀
kyree90 says
I get that exact same cheesecake from the Barnes & Noble Cafe from time to time … but never for dinner.
Heather (heather's dish) says
if dessert for dinner included godiva chocolate cheesecake, then HECK YES i would rock that for dinner! yummmmmmmm 🙂
Sherri says
I just had TCBY frozen yogurt for dinner tonight. White chocolate mousse with rainbow sprinkles. Glad to know I’m not the only one!
Sarah says
that’s my fave! but i haven’t been to TCBY in years… they all closed near me…bummer!
Alex @ IEatAsphalt says
I’ve eating massive amounts of frozen yogurt for meals… there is nothing wrong with having a splurge meal! Although I will say I can never make it through an entire piece of cheesecake. They are so big!
tropicaleats says
onion rings are my most favorite thing EVAAAR. seriously.
usually dont order dessert at restaurants bc by that point im stuffed and dreading the bill.. but peanut butter fro yo from TCBY is awesome.
Erin says
You’re stronger than I am… I would have eaten the entire slice! (I have a big ol’ sweet tooth.)
Tina says
I know I have but I can’t remember a specific occurence. Sometimes it just feels so right. And looks so good!
Meg says
Hoooly cow, that looks amazing…I might lick the screen. And dessert is totally okay for dinner, and breakfast…and lunch… 😉
Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman says
That looks awesome. I’d much rather eat dessert for dinner than dinner for dinner. 🙂
Caitlin says
My mom has always told me, “Life’s short, eat dessert first.” 143 motherly wisdom.
Though I might skip the dessert-for-dinner thing if I could have a big plate of those onion rings for dinner instead!
Liz @ Tip Top Shape says
I am seriously having some cake envy right now. haha That looks GOOD. Have you ever had Cheesecake Factory’s Red Velvet Cheesecake?? That is my favorite. It is delicious!
peanutbutterfingers says
yes! we got that on our anniversary back in feb. & loved it!
Colleen says
My husband’s birthday was on the 12th this month and I ordered a whole one of those for his birthday! It’s currently chilling in our freezer (after we gave half away and ate some ourselves), but that thing taunts me every time I open the freezer! It’s sooooooooo good. We love getting a piece here and there from The Cheesecake Factory to try, and Red Velvet was his favorite. Sooooo, I rambled all that to say that we have plans next Friday to have cheesecake for dinner! 🙂
Jean@RoastedRootsandPumpkinSpice says
AH! Looks so good!
I do eat dessert for dinner sometimes, but I’ll try to eat carrot sticks or an apple after to make myself feel better about it and “balance it all out.” I know it’s silly but I feel better about it afterwards haha
Amber K says
It would probably be better for my waistline, but no actually. I find that I don’t feel full if I just eat dessert.
So I have to eat an actual dinner and THEN dessert. Many more calories than just eating either one alone!
Chelsea at Striking Balance says
loveee dessert for dinner! okay fine i just love dessert in general, doesn’t need a specified time or meal name. and i also love greasy pub food – i secretly get excited when there isn’t a healthier option on the menu. I’m always down for mozzarella sticks and nachos!
Fallon says
If only we could eat that delicious cake for dinner every night. 😉
Paula @ rockngranola says
I usually don’t do JUST dessert for dinner. Usually it’s more like dinner as an appetizer that I inhale to get the oh-so-sweet main course!
That Godiva cheesecake brings me back. In college, me and my 4 girlfriends would go out to the Cheesecake Factory downtown, order a couple slices of these and giggle the night away. We actually had a name for that particular cheesecake – “The Man.” E.g. I failed this final AND my bf and I are having a fight. I need The Man stat. 🙂
P.S. Have you tried the red velvet cheesecake? So good!
Marina says
I love having cereal for dinner, or oats 🙂 Or cookies with milk.
That stuff makes me sleep so much better 🙂
Lauren says
Oh wow, I’ve had that Godiva Cheesecake before and I remember it being way too much but extremely delicious! Way to hear to resist!
Fervent Foodie says
I think I would fight someone for that cheesecake right now.. hahhaa 🙂
Katie says
Oh yes! When I was younger, my dad would golf on Thursday nights and my mom never wanted to cook. Thursdays were usually our DIY nights and eat whatever leftovers there were from the week. My mom would often take my brother and me to Friendly’s to get a Reese Peanut Butter Cup sundae for dinner. She always said we’d have our “real” dinner afterwards but we were always too full to eat anything after the ginormous sundae! 🙂
Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine says
If I wouldn’t give myself diabetes, I’d eat that cake for dinner every single night. It’s the mother of all chocolate cakes!!
Megan says
Agreed. I would seriously consider going out to get it for lunch today. 🙂 Breakfast, even, but I don’t know that Cheesecake Factory opens this early.
Lissy says
I did once, but regretted it later when my body got angry at me.
sara says
That’s obviously the best dinner ever. I have to tell you, your tip on adding instant sugar free pudding mix to greek yogurt is the best idea ever. This morning I added some choc mix to plain greek yogurt and stirred in some frozen raspberries…insanely delicious.
peanutbutterfingers says
so glad you liked it!
Shanna, like Banana says
Hmm, dessert for dinner sounds pretty good especially in the form of cheesecake!
If presented with a pumpkin pie versus a pizza pie, I’d take the former!
Cassie says
That sounds like a delicious dinner!
justjac says
Ha ha I LOVE this post! I um maybe just finished eating ice cream for dinner! Okay, okay, I followed it up with leftover bfast eggs but still… the ice cream was the front-runner. love it! 😀
Nicolette Barnes says
I went on a trip to Guatemala this past November, and almost all the meals were in restauarants…. being a vegetarian who doesn’t like/has trouble digesting vegetables, and also really dislikes greasy food, left me with few options, so several of my meals were straight up dessert!! And my tummy actually felt better after those meals than some of the more “normal” meals of pizza or pasta!!
